My friend and I spent a few days in Elaine's house. It was my first experience with airbnb, and I was absolutely pleased. Elaine is a wonderful host. When we arrived, she had left all kinds of documentation about the touristic attractions around Gloucester, a list of the restaurants around town, along with the directions to the beautiful beaches in the area. She was there if we needed help or information, but she respected our intimacy. The house is wonderful, I really felt at home. It is a short walk to downtown Gloucester, and a few minutes drive from Good Harbor Beach. I would totally recommend Elaine as a host if you are visiting the area.

Elaine is a very friendly and hospitable host! Her AirBnB room is on the rudimentary side, with street noise (as she kindly mentioned in her listing) and one window lacking a curtain, but the house has rustic charm and is favorably priced. We hope to see Elaine again on a future visit!

Staying at Elaine's air bnb was just fabulous! My husband and I really loved the open atmosphere and felt truly at home during our stay. Elaine couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful and really made our stay so enjoyable. We would recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay in Gloucester!

Elaine was a total gem!! Lola was quite awesome as well!! The room that we stayed in had the essentials and it was a comfortable area. I appreciated the fact that Elaine had a page or two of restaurants and bars of Gloucester, it really made it easy for decision making.

Elaine's house can easily be reached by train and walk from there on foot to downtown Gloucester. Without a car to the beach to get, then a little more difficult, but Elaine was kind enough to drive me there. She was very helpful and communicative and created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The room was bright and nicely furnished. For those who shore the North want to learn a little closer, a good starting point.

Elaine was a wonderful host - she was incredibly welcoming, and we enjoyed hanging out with her and talking to her on the evening that she was home. She was very accommodating and let us leave our bags in her house while we explored Gloucester even after check-out time.

I had an excellent time here. The room was spotless and Elaine was very kind and knowledgable about the area. The beach was a little far without a car, but the CATA buses were very convenient and cheap. Would definitely recommend.

The comfort and coziness of this Gloucester home exceeded our expectations. It was in a central location, on a quiet and scenic area. It had so many cozy areas, and it was evident that the owners are artistic and caring people.

Eric was a very welcoming and helpful host who made sure our needs were met, while still providing us privacy. We stayed on the upstairs floor which had everything that we needed from towels to bedding to kitchen spices. There were more essentials than expected, which was a great surprise. Eric provided a collection of guides and brochures to make sure that we could thoroughly enjoy Gloucester and the surrounding areas. Furthermore, the home was clean, cozy, and close to many shops and restaurants. It was a great price for such an amazing stay. I wish we could've stayed longer!

Eric was very welcoming and emailed and texted to tell me when he would be home etc. He has a lovely, clean, organized space. It was great for all four of us. We were on our way home to Georgia from a wedding in Vermont and was grateful to have his home to stay in. It was raining when we arrived and so was happy to find umbrellas to take with us on a walk outside. I would recommend Eric's place highly. It was right in the heart of the town and so would have been great for checking out the town except for the rain. Internet was a little spotty in the evening but worked great in the morning. I would give him 4 out of 5 stars!!!

The home was clean and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen. We constantly referred to the activities notebook to chart our days, along with suggestions from the host. He was gracious and friendly- yet respected our privacy. He shared personal items after listening to our list of desired activities. The home is in quaint downtown 'Glosta' and near groceries, liquor, restaurants and shops.

Eric and Emily were very helpful. The house is perfect, great location in a quiet neighborhood. I loved the pictures of the family around the house, so much nicer than an impersonal hotel. The deck was so nice for coffee in the morning. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, we were very comfortable, as was our dog. Our only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay!

Our stay in Rockport was amazing! Carol and Scott were super helpful in all of the info they gave us about the area (great restaurants, hiking, events happening that weekend etc.) Such a relaxing atmosphere, we will definitely stay here again!

Scott was very friendly and knowledgable of the area. My stay was one night, but the views will last forever. A 5-10minute walk to boutique shops downtown, only issue was finding parking as downtown is really busy. Luckily the night I stayed it wasn't very busy so parking wasnt an issue. fantastic host.

Great views of the ocean from the balcony and bedroom. The location is right downtown and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.

The apartment was as advertised, a quite charming little two-room suite. I arrived late at night in late November with the wind blowing and waves crashing right below the deck. Heaven!

This is the PERFECT PLACE for a romantic getaway. My husband and I celebrated our 1-year anniversary here and it was absolutely incredible. Carol and Scott are also the kindest people. A big two thumbs up! :)

The room description was accurate and my wife and I really enjoyed the experience! The apartment was literally on the beach and depending on the tide can be yards away from the ocean (it's on a small cliff so there's no water damage risks) so we can hear the soothing sound of the waves always. Very romantic and special get away location. Scott and Carol were helpful with answering questions on AirBnB beforehand and they are great hosts.

This little apartment was exactly what we had hoped. My husband and I went for a 2 night kid-free getaway, this sweet little romantic place was perfect! Scott greeted us upon arrival, and when I asked for extra towels, they were there waiting for us when we came back from dinner. The apartment was incredibly clean and there were plenty of things provided for our use in the kitchen, such as a coffee pot, dishes, dish-soap, etc. The bed was very comfortable, and listening to the waves all night made for an amazing night's sleep. The views were perfect, I left feeling very relaxed.

Iain was very warm and informative. Always available if needed but maintained our privacy. Nice garden for relaxing. The Last Stop Café right at the bottom of the street was a great bonus for hungry travelers. Yep, would stay here again if visiting Gloucester.

My wife and I (and our yellow lab Monty) truly enjoyed our stay at Jestina's cottage. It was in a prime location (close to the beaches, Rocky Neck Art Colony and a short jaunt to downtown Gloucester and the highway for when we needed to travel out of town), and the cabin was clean and comfortable. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some relaxation.

Jestina's Cottage was a perfect place for my week on Cape Ann! The cottage is so cozy! I fell asleep to crickets and breezes through the trees and woke up to birds chirping softly outside in the morning! I could easily walk to Rocky Neck, Niles Beach, and enjoyed a few morning runs along Atlantic Rd. It's lovely.

We have a great time at Iain and Amy's cottage. The house is close to everything we want to go. The amenity are comfortable and sufficient. The communication was effective. We felt welcome and being in good care.

Jestina's cottage was truly a magical place, I could hear the waves in the distance at night, and there was such a lovely energy about the dwelling. Just enough space for one person, and could easily be comfy for a couple/close friends. I enjoyed watching the bunnies hop around outside, and the flowers flowing in the wind...very pretty spot. The Owner's were very friendly and even left me some chocolate to come "home" to upon arriving. You can tell they take good care of the cottage, and even have some books about the artist who would paint there. A nice positive escape from a stressful world.

Excellent! Enjoyed our stay in "Glostah" immensely. Really enjoyed meeting Iain and his wife Amy. We spent a full week there which included two day trips to Boston. Iain was more than kind in sharing his local knowledge. The location is great, there is certainly enough privacy, and there is more then enough space for two people. We would certainly come back.

Iain & Amy are extremely warm & sincere hosts that did everything possible to make us feel comfortable during our stay in Gloucester, Mass. The cottage is as advertised, quaint and private. It's located in an extremely unique and appealing neighborhood by the bay.

Katherine is an excellent host. We felt welcomed, our stay was comfortable and the location of her home provided easy access to Gloucester and the rest of Cape Ann. Katherine provided excellent dining suggestions and directions for getting around the area.

Quiet, cozy, welcoming cottage perched on a hill with a lovely view of Gloucester and the ocean in the distance. Katherine is genuine and available for any question and conversation over tea. The bedroom is inviting and comfortable. Friendly dog Piper contributes to the overall charm. I'm definitely coming back.

We had a wonderful weeklong stay at The Sunset Serenade, our accommodations were excellent, a well stocked kitchen, dreamy bed, wonderful sunsets and harbor sounds from the deck for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Nice place to come back to after a day of beach combing, hiking, biking, golfing or sightseeing. Thanks Linda and Hank we'll be back!

We had a terrific stay in Gloucester. The studio is a jewel-box (very pretty) -- in addition, it was a very clean and comfortable space (perfect for two)! Linda had a binder of local information (i.e., best breakfast in area, best lobster shack and great places to listen to music -- accurate and helpful)! All the sights are within a 10-15 minute drive of the apartment. Linda and partner were hospitable (lovely) as well without being overly so. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay in Linda's studio: very well decorated , located and equiped. It's the perfect place to stay to discover the Island and the view from the studio is very charming. We also as been very warmly welcomed. We greatly recommend. François & Marie-Laure

We were greeted with a welcome binder that was very helpful being new to the area. Linda had a list of places to go and things that she recommended. We did many of the things and very much enjoyed our stay there. The place was what I expected from the pictures. Except the view. It was even better than I imagined it to be! The view of the harbor never got old. It was a great experience. Linda has tried to think of every detail to make guest stay the best it can be. Would love to come back and stay there again.

This was a wonderful stay. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The Sunset Serenade was fantastic, clean and comfortable with a "Super" view of the harbor. All linens, towels and kitchen amenities were first class...and so were our hosts. We would visit again in a heart beat.

Linda was so welcoming and went above and beyond with well thought out amenities for our stay. The apartment was immaculate, yet felt homey and inviting. It was exactly as described. I would recommend this place and will be coming back in the future.

Great location! I parked my car when I arrived and walked to restaurants in one direction and the beach in the other. Who could ask for more?

A very nice spacious room with a new mattress. A wonderful views of the adjacent golf course. A clean bathroom to share. Breakfast in the bright, cheerful dining room. Breakfast was coffee, tea, pastries, cereals and fruit, yogurt, milk. you do not need more. In addition, a very large living room and the great porch. On foot one is in 5 minutes on the sandy beach. Teresa is a very sympathetic and helpful hostess who can provide numerous tips for activities and restaurants, but does not impose.

Teresa's home is huge and absolutely beautiful! We arrived in the evening while she was away and left early the next morning, so we never ran into her, but she was extremely communicative and helpful both before and during our stay. Teresa provided tea and coffee, and she left some unbelievably delicious banana bread for us in the morning. The dogs barked a bit when we came into the house (as dogs should), but we didn't hear them bark at all during the night. This was such a charming place to stay during our time in Gloucester. Thank you, Teresa!

Theresa made us feel very at home during our stay in Gloucester. She was very warm and inviting, responsive to our needs, providing soap and shampoo by request, and left us with a wonderful breakfast of yogurt, granola, fruit, and coffee cake, as well as coffee and wine. Her dogs were fairly well-behaved and friendly, and her place was a quick three-block walk from the beach. We had a wonderful time!

The days with Teresa were very special. She is warm and helpful. Her house is really old and therefore it had an special charm. The dogs are very friendly. The nearby Beach is great. A visit to Teresa is an interesting experience.

Wonderful place to stay

Absolutely perfect. Susan and Vince were so nice and so accommodating. They communicated quickly. The place was so nice. The perfect place to stay. Great view and within walking distance of all the beautiful sights we wanted to see. Highly recommend.

The place was great. I got an actual bed and breakfast vibe. The place was perfect for my target interests which were the local parks. Stage Fort Park has excellent tide pools and though birds weren't my primary target of interest I was able to add to add two birds to my life list. A Brant and a Common Eider. If you don't know what a Common Eider sounds like look it up. Let's just say I felt like they were excited to see me. Ravenswood Park is less than ten minutes down the road and has an excellent trail system. Bradley Palmer State Park is about a half hour to forty five minutes away but was probably one of my favorite places, 2nd to the tides pools. Downtown Glocester is also a very short drive away. When I head back to the area, this is where I'm going to try to stay again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The cottage was an adorable place to stay in a fun location. It was exactly as described and we had a great stay. Ken was quick to communicate when we had questions after our arrival. I would suggest this as a cute place for 1-2 people to stay if they want to be in that area!

The cottage was very nice and looked like it does in the pictures! We biked there from the commuter rail, and it was easy to get around Gloucester and the surrounding area by bike. We also enjoyed relaxing at Good Harbor beach, which is nearby. Ken was easy to communicate with while we were there.

Ken was very responsive with my reservation details and provided great directions and suggestions for the local area. Unfortunately we had to evacuate Charleston SC due to a massive hurricane threat the day before my trip and had to cancel. Ken was incredibly understanding and took care of everything for me with airbnb. Thanks so much and hope to see you next year.

The cottage is adorable. Great for two people. Small, sunny and functional space to call home for a few days. Centrally located and easy walk or bike-ride to downtown, restaurants, galleries, beaches. Was so nice to have a little kitchen to use to cook breakfast in the mornings, or make a lunch to-go before heading to the beach. All kitchen tools needed to create small meals are available - coffee maker, toaster, small oven and stovetop. Comfortable living room space downstairs, and comfortable bedroom upstairs with clean linens, comfortable bed, and plenty of towels. Ken reached out many times, through text, before and during our stay, to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. He was kind and communicative. We had a great time in Gloucester! The listing is accurate.

Cottage was great! It's well equipped, in a good location, and the hosts are extremely gracious and welcoming.

Ken was easy to communicate with and we enjoyed our stay at his cottage. Nice little yard space and a great location for morning jogs around the neighborhood. This is a delightful place! Two comfortable rooms in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to Rockport and Gloucester. Treats in the morning from this magical bakery. The hosts were respectful of our privacy. And the household was very quiet. We never heard them, aside from a rare comment from their two happy labs. High recommend! Thank you.

A lovely home! Comfortable beds and nice "suite" arrangement. It was perfect for our small family. Mini fridge, K-cup machine, breakfast table, and TV were wonderful perks! Mike was incredibly accomidating. He was there if we needed anything but gave plenty of privacy. Beautiful location!

This was my second time staying at Michael and Betsy's place. It's super comfortable and clean and the hosts are incredibly accommodating. Looking forward to my next trip.

Mike and Betsy's upstairs accommodations were quaint, clean, and very comfortable. The sense of calm and quiet throughout our stay made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy Cape Ann. Betsy was very friendly and easy to communicate with and the restocked goodies, including baked goods in the morning, were an added bonus. It could easily accommodate 4 people but it comfortably fit 2. Their suggestion of restaurants in the area were spot on and halibut state park was definitely worth exploring (only 5 minutes down the road). We fell in love with the area and hope to visit again soon!

Mike & Betsy were very accommodating. The apartment is the top floor of the original house, and they've got a separate living area on the ground floor in a single-story addition. The apartment felt very private, and it's a lovely location, with short walks to Plum Cove, a Public Landing dedicated to the people of Gloucester in (if I remember correctly) 1931, and other scenic and beachy nooks.

What a wonderful experience! Fishnet cottage is perfect. Everything you need and more is covered for you. Ken and his wife are a delight and Ken went out of his way to not only prepare for us but to help my son know where to fish for his tournament- I can't imagine staying anywhere else when in Gloucester!

Ken was a great host, and he was easy to communicate with even though my schedule made it that we couldn't meet him until the day we checked out. The cottage is comfy - and the bed was so comfortable I think we slept better than at home! The area is lovely and quiet, and it made for a great weekend trip away from the city. The cottage also has multiple skylights which was an unexpected plus!

Very cute cottage in eclectic and fascinating Gloucester, MA. Host Ken was a wonderful tour guide and took me on a great walk. The cottage was clean and thoughtfully furnished with a few well chosen provisions. I enjoyed my stay and would happily stay at the Fishnet Cottage again.
