Family-friendly holiday rentals in Roanoke

The Inn was the best place to prepare for and stay during our daughter’s wedding weekend. We had everything we needed; the house was beautiful and clean; the beds were comfy. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and around the fire after the festivities. We received 20% off the brewery restaurant and the food was extremely tasty. We highly recommend the Inn!

Joe’s place was very nice . Loved everything about it . He was very nice and answered as quickly as he could . The horses are absolutely beautiful . Would definitely rent from Joe again. My husband is a retired vet and he said it was a nice getaway to clear his mind . Thank you for allowing us to rent your place .

The apartment was nice and clean, close the river. We didn’t know there wasn’t a TV. We should have noticed it I guess. It wasn’t a problem for us. It was a new ce place to stay, and dog friendly.

We were looking for a cabin, hoping to find a quiet place to rest, relax and recharge in nature. We never dreamed that we would find an authentic 18th century cabin located in the forest on a mountain top - with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The inside of the cabin was beautifully furnished as would be expected in colonial Virginia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the experience of stepping back in time.

This place is a slice of heaven! We stayed one night and enjoyed the hot tub, the goats (the hostess even left us food for them, which the kids loved), the gardens, and the enormous red oak tree on the lawn. The cottage is adorable, full of books and beautiful art and pottery from the hostess, and quaint little details that we loved admiring. We played jazz on the record player and had a family game of Scrabble before bed. Everything was perfect.

Beautiful place and Amanda is very helpful. No complaints here and would recommend 10/10.

This place in the mountains is BEAUTIFUL! I wanted to stay longer. I was there for my graduation from Liberty University. It was about an hour away, but it worked for me because the property was large enough to house all of my family and friends. Jennifer was VERY responsive. The kitchen was amazing. There is a Food Lion about 6 minutes away down the hill, and restaurants. My grandsons and niece loved the outdoor play area. My husband loved the fire pit. I loved sitting on the porch on the swing. A small group of friends and I stayed at Anne’s place for our best friends wedding. Needless to say, this was the perfect spot. Anne’s place was utterly beautiful and peaceful. The house was so cozy and quaint, the family photos on the wall that depicted the home from a different generation made our stay that much more special. We felt so at home and it was the perfect place to unwind and celebrate our friend. Anne went above and beyond by providing us with fresh eggs, juices, and a variety of other breakfast items. Cooking in the rustic kitchen was hands down our favorite part! 10/10 would recommend staying at Anne’s place!

Words cannot describe the feeling of pure calm that comes over you when you arrive. This place is truly a treasure hidden in the woods. Once you cross the creek you leave the world and all your cares behind. The host pays attention to all the little details and it shows. We have stayed at quite a few places but this one is on our return list. We look forward to sliding up for a long weekend in the late fall or early winter. (Tip- be sure to spend 15 min reading the welcome package it is time well spent).

It was a great experience overall. Host was very helpful and place was a piece of beauty. We had 3+ hours of power outage due to weather conditions. Host was very helpful during that time. I wish there was a standby back up during the power outage. Overall, me and my family loved the place.

This is our home away from home when we go to our annual family reunion. Julie’s home is spacious, welcoming and beautiful. The home is always well-stocked with the necessities and a few extra touches, like a bowl of welcome snacks, coffee for the Keurig, etc. We love Starling Place. We have stayed three years in a row and will be back next year.

I’d argue that this is one of the best places to stay in Wintergreen. The cabin itself is perfect. We are a young family and it was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. The location is also perfect. It is very close to all the attractions on the resort. Clay was a great host as well. The perfect amount of communication; engaged without being intrusive. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be sure their trip is easy and successful!

We loved our stay at this condo in Wintergreen. The condo was beautifully furnished. Very clean. And the views from the balcony are unbelievable. Since it was spring, it was very quiet which we enjoyed. The mountains were so lush and green. The host responded to any questions within minutes. Check out was a breeze. We will be booking again!

Staying with Mr Jane was a pleasure. The location was perfect, the apartment was cozy and spotless. The place was well-equipped and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. This is a peaceful downstairs apartment with private entry and beautiful backyard with swimming pool. Mrs Jane was always available to answer our questions. unforgettable experience! Super clean condo with everything we needed. Perfect for a stay in Wintergreen!

A wonderful property nestled in the Wintergreen Resort. While not part of the resort, the amenities and surrounding Breweries offered plenty to do while not relaxing in the hot tub or on the private deck. Beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of space for our family to spread out. Access to WiFi and movie channels were convenient and supplemented the secluded feel for a well balanced vacation. Highly recommend this rental for families and groups looking to get away for a relaxing and enjoyable time in the mountains. Bring your cameras and charge your phones to take pictures of the breathtaking views at and around the house!

The view from the condo was stunning and beautiful, just like John’s photos online. The detailed directions and descriptions were very accurate. John welcomed us during check-in and thanked us when we left. It would be nice to have screens on the sliding glass door. Definitely would consider staying there in the future!
