Kristen was a fantastic host! I booked a year in advance, and she was very helpful from start to finish. The stay was perfect for our out-of-town guest! Location, cleanliness and great communication was top notch!

We were looking for a cabin, hoping to find a quiet place to rest, relax and recharge in nature. We never dreamed that we would find an authentic 18th century cabin located in the forest on a mountain top - with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The inside of the cabin was beautifully furnished as would be expected in colonial Virginia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the experience of stepping back in time.

My fiance and I were able to book the cabin for a last minute weekend getaway. The house was very clean, cute and perfect for what we needed. Our dog enjoyed the big fenced in yard, and we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. We had everything we needed to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner (bring your own seasonings though), and got restful sleep! We were beyond grateful to enjoy this home for the weekend! The biggest complaints on the reviews are the wifi and the driveway... we didn't have any issues with either personally.. but if you're afraid to get your car dirty or need to work the whole trip, maybe pick something closer to town.. otherwise its perfect to unplug and unwind!

Rebecca was an amazing host! This home was even better than expected! Although there are neighbors we didnt feel like it and our fur baby had plenty of room to stretch her paws! Home was spotless and so cozy and the hot tub and fire pit were perfect! All we needed to cook for the week and all of rebecca’s recommendations were spot on! We would ABSOLUTELY stay again!

Very quiet and peaceful location with farm/country scenery all around. Cabin was cozy and comfortable ... ideal for a couple. The host was very responsive and also informative about nearby points of interest. We enjoyed our stay.

I had a last minute stay at Kelly’s cabin, and it was so peaceful! The surroundings are beautiful and so wonderful to hear the rushing creek next to the cabin. The hot tub was a much needed respite from a very busy week! Beds are comfortable and the cabin is well laid out. I look forward to returning!

We really enjoyed our weekend at Cruising Altitude. The cabin was situated on the slope along a quiet inlet of the lake. It had a large deck under the shade of trees, perfect for sitting. The cabin was cozy and clean. I would stay there again.

It was a beautiful home with a great view. The host was super friendly and helpful.

Alison’s place was the perfect getaway for us to have a nice quiet weekend. It’s so private and relaxing. Wonderful views. Very close to the New River state park. House is clean and cozy. Nice outdoor areas with fire pit and grill. Our pups loved the space and fenced in deck area. Will book again in the future.

Stephanie's little cottage was just as pictured. The bed was very comfortable as was the furnishings. We took advantage of the well stocked kitchen making about half our meals in house. We enjoyed sitting out in the screened porch both in the mornings and evenings. There was ample parking for our truck, small motorcycle trailer, and two bikes. It might not be the easiest to find but it is very quiet and peaceful once there. Groceries and restaurants are conveniently close by but the cottage has the feeling of being away from it all. We saw two friendly woodchucks almost everyday and two deer bedded down in the yard right outside our door. We rode the Blue Ridge parkway, which is accessed about 15mi from the cottage, at the James River. Heading south we climbed to the Peaks of Otter topping out at 3950ft. Heading north we made it to Whetstone Bridge before turning around. We found Stephanie's little cottage to be the perfect place to stay while exploring the area.

Stephen was an excellent host, and we loved the location for this little cabin!

Cabin was amazing to stay at, everything was prefect and the host had everything perfectly organized and had many different things for us to use. Such as games, hot tub , grilling supplies, fire pit. It was a great time and my wife and I enjoyed it. It is really close to the city, the food around the cabin was amazing. The people in the area were very kind and welcoming. I would definitely recommend going here.

This place was amazing. A beautiful, comfy hide-a-way right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin was very clean and everything we needed was available. The host, Rebecca, was fantastic. She was very responsive and provided exactly what we needed before and during our stay. The artsy and amazing little town of Floyd, VA is about 15 minutes away and has anything you could possibly want and the drive to get there is breathtaking with multiple scenic over looks and a few parks and campgrounds in the area. There are multiple other beautiful little mountain towns within an hour drive of the areas as well such Mt. Airy, NC(home of Mayberry). We will definitely be back!!!Do your self a favor and book this wonderful little place. You will not regret it.

Libby and Kerry were great hosts. Very flexible and attentive. They treated us their own guests checking on us often to see if we needed anything. The place is historic and we felt like we were living in the 18s. My kids had som much fun with board games and toys in the cabin. They also liked exploring the big field. Definitely coming back.

Clean and comfortable little cabin in absolutely gorgeous surroundings! Very close to great walks. My wife and I walked along the Fries to Fries Junction section of the New River State Park trail, a gentle stroll of around 11 miles there and back. I had a more strenuous hike along the Iron Mountain Trail/Bourne Branch loop in the National Forest. The trailhead is about a mile further along Arrowhead Drive. I later discovered that the ridge trail at the back of the cabin extends beyond what's indicated on the map, and actually connects to the Iron Mountain Trail, so you don't need to get the trailhead. I'll definitely remember this for next time. The birdlife was amazing! The rose-breasted Grosbeak outdoing Paul McCartney's blackbird, and the Whippoorwills hauntingly serenading us at night. Wonderful wildflowers as well. Getting up the driveway in our VW Tiguan was fun - it just needed a bit of a running start to get up the first steep part, and then we just bounced along!
