The perfect getaway. Stunning, peaceful property. Being welcomed by the sounds of the Guinea fowls and the rushing river made me so happy and calm. The accommodation itself was perfectly clean, homely, comfortable with absolutely everything we needed. The little touches like the lux bedding, the fresh milk and the torch by the door were great extras. And I really appreciated the close parking and the table and chairs sat by the river. Can't wait to return. Highly reccomend the host Madonna at The Granary. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

We booked at short notice within a couple of days & Sara & Matthew couldn't have been more responsive & accommodating to our needs, especially travelling with a 7mth old. The space was set in their beautiful house with picturesque surrounding gardens & with a spectacular view over the sands. We could easily come and go as we pleased with the private access to the accommodation. Sara & Matthew were very hospitable & friendly. It was easy to find with the information provided - a great gem of a location to explore the lakes & surrounding area - great value for money & would stay again in the future.

We loved our stay at The Annex. Our host Julie met us on arrival and was very friendly. The property was beautifully laid out, had everything you’d need. Extra touches such as milk, bread and home made flapjacks (delicious 😊) were very much appreciated. Would love to return!

Ellie’s place was the perfect place to stay - peaceful, spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved getting to meet the alpacas out the back too! Would highly recommend!

Great peaceful stay in beautiful location, opposite the marshes... a stunning sunset walk! Delicious breakfasts, Raphaela went out of her way to cater a tasty vegan breakfast. One of my favourite breakfasts in a long time! Thank you for a warm and friendly stay, would highly recommend :)

We had a fabulous stay in this beautiful flat, full of beautiful original features. It's so spacious and our kids loved staying in the castle! We had everything we needed and Caroline was great at keeping in touch. Many thanks Caroline!

Shepherd’s Heft was perfect for our long Bank Holiday stay, close to Hadrian’s Wall and a short walk into Haltwhistle. Everything we needed was provided in the cottage. Easy to walk out with the dog, and to park safely.

The attention to detail made it feel like a true home away from home. The location was perfect, peaceful yet close enough to everything we needed. Lovely couple of days at Lilia’s place. Cottage was pristine with a minimalist modern decor. It had everything we needed for two days rest. Lilia provided detailed instructions on how to get to the property and information about local amenities. The local village is a beautiful quaint place.

A lovely little place with lovely views and a fab location for walking up and down the dale. Also right opposite a very friendly pub with nice meals. The annexe is very clean and well provided for including a newly installed EV charger (7 Kw/h which is faster than others locally) and we were pleased to be its first users! Vicky and Richard were very responsive and welcoming and we would highly recommend The Dale as an excellent base for exploring Wharfedale.

We absolutely loved our stay with Lucy & Nick, their annex was a perfect little getaway during a busy period in our lives and we were very warmly welcomed! What could be better than spending our mornings walking through beautiful woods and by the reservoir or our evenings barbecuing and sitting out under the stars and the lights. We could not recommend this place more highly for those seeking a quiet getaway in the countryside! But also it's very accessible, with the lovely towns of Blanchland, Corbridge and Hexham a short drive away, good shops at Hexham and Consett, and good walking at Derwent Reservoir, the Durham Dales and at Hadrian's Wall. We will definitely go back!

Pamela was the most amazing host meeting us at the gate as we arrived. Beautiful surrounds, spotless accommodation with absolutely everything you could need. Keith and Pamela gave us great advice on what to do and see and even dropped us at the local pub for dinner. Amazing hosts. Such a beautiful place to stay away from the hustle and bustle. Our stay at Wainwright's Rest was peaceful and comfortable, we stayed for two nights as were attending a wedding locally. Emma was very responsive and helpful when we arrived late, and the facilities were clean and tidy, as described. It's only a short walk into the town and the surrounding landscape. Highly recommend for a short stay!

This was actually the first place I had viewed for our trip, and boy were we pleasantly surprised! This place is an ideal sanctuary to switch off, explore, enjoy peace and tranquility. Susan and Lee were both great hosts, lovely people and helpful. This is a rare find and one that we will most definitely be visiting again!

Exactly as described and so relaxing after an 8 hr journey from Cornwall on our way to Scotland. Marj was there to welcome us. We will definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Marj’s place. Marj was very helpful and friendly and we were made to feel really welcome and right at home. We were delighted with the invitation to feed the lambs with her and to meet the other animals. The place was really comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed, Marj left us lots of breakfast items as well as a beer and little bottle of wine in the fridge- perfect after a long drive. We had a great night’s sleep in the comfy beds and woke refreshed for the day’s drive ahead to Ben Nevis. Thanks again Marj, we would definitely book again.

Neil and Nicola are wonderful hosts. Nicola picked us up from Cholerford and drove us to Hexam in the morning. We felt like we were at home or visiting family. The apartment is equipped with everything you need on the go and very nicely decorated. And a delicious breakfast

Jo's place was perfect for us as an overnight stay before going to a wedding in the Lakes. The apartment was spotless and thoughtfully decorated/furnished. The garden is absolutely stunning and it was such a joy to sit in the sunshine. Thank you Jo and family.

Lynn & Reg are so friendly and make you feel so welcome at home straight away. Their little cottage is so nice, the photos don’t do it justice. Private garden for the dogs and endless places to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. The beach is literally 2 mins walk down a track and we had it to ourselves the whole time we were there. We look forward to going back and spending more time there.

we loved our stay at Miriam's place. The house is situated in a lovely and peaceful setting. It is very clean and confortable. We rented over time several different properties in the area and we found Miriam's place was the best by far. We would defenetely like to rent this place again if we come back in the area.
