Cottage holiday rentals in Reading

My family would absolutely return to this rental. The location was relaxing, peaceful and tranquil. The space itself was very clean and beautifully decorated. I appreciated all of the live plants. We visited the area for an event but we found plenty of places to eat and things to do during our visit. My favorite part was enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning while watching the horses and cows graze right outside the picture window in the main level sitting space. I highly recommend reading the instructions and directions provided by the property manager(s). They described the location, provided pictures to help guide you to the proper driveway, and gave lots of step-by-step details... I still had to ask the family that lives there to help guide us to the appropriate spot- it's really tucked away. This rental is highly recommended; hopefully, you enjoy it as much as we did!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean. Everything well stocked. Outside area was clean and well maintained and perfect for a family. Had all the amenities and more. Paid very close attention to the details to made our stay perfect. Hosts are kind and responsive.

Place was very beautiful and was such a nice area, definitely recommend driving over to Columbia during your stay. Place was a bit more renovated than the pictures which was a nice surprise.

Muddy Creek is a diamond of a find. Everything was great. We did not mind the little bit of rain we had. Sunday was gorgeous. The kids had so much fun. we look forward to going back.

The property we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and offered fantastic views of the river and surrounding areas. The house itself was very well maintained and offered a great outdoor area with the hot tub. Josh and Nicole were extremely accommodating and were absolutely fantastic hosts, would completely recommend them and staying on one of their properties.

Nicely updated home on quiet street. Comfortably accommodated our group of 6. Close to local attractions.

Loved this place. Couldn’t say enough about how nice it was. It actually was even better than the pictures showed. We hung out on the back deck with a hot tub and the grill and comfy chairs. Bedroom and bathrooms primo. Kitchen was so organized and stocked with equipment and utensils and everything you might need. This was important for us as we cooked almost every meal here We totally enjoyed the pool table in the basement. The host was very helpful, communicative, and responsive. We enjoyed going to local greenhouses and gardens. Highly recommend this place.

We booked this place for our family to attend a nearby graduation. The house and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. Easy distance to the town and university. The house itself was neat and well equipped, and the hosts were very responsive, welcomed us in person and left clear instructions. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage is beautiful, tranquil, and very comfortable - a one of a kind place. The history of the cottage is very interesting and was part of our wonderful stay there. We, along with our guests with four legs, relished walking the serene property. David was a great host - very helpful, responsive, and nice to work with. We look forward to returning.

Our four days three nights stay at Paradise Cottage was a very special one. The hosts were very welcoming and stood behind what they had offer. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. As a complementary, there were very sweet straberries waiting for us on the kitchen counter and raw milk and brown eggs were also provided. She responded to our question’s without delay. We felt at home because there were utensils and products to use as needed. The main attractions were at a close distance as she had announced. It was a very unique and different experience for us. We are planning come back.

Cute, comfortable home. Very quiet and scenic, even had a deer stop by for breakfast our first morning there. Home had everything we needed. Sheila made this a great first experience.

Everything was nice, clean and we were provided with the comforts of home. From beginning to end. For allowing us to tour your other properties. The BUNTINGs were truly blessed. We had an amazing time at the River House! We were in town for a wedding and to visit family. After living/traveling in our camper for the last 2 years, it was so nice to stretchout! We had 4 beautiful sunsets, including after a family BBQ on the deck. We had everything in the kitchen we needed to make food. The bathroom is beautiful. The comfy couch and fireplace made the evenings so nice. The neighbors on both sides brought us homemade goodies and made us feel right at home. Our dog Lily made friends with LILY the pug next door. We will always try to stay at the River House in future visits to PA. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much for sharing your special place with us!

Great spot to stay for a weekend, lovely local recommendations for coffee, brunch and restaurants all walking distance. Also a quick uber into downtown!

We really enjoyed the house being private and peaceful but also a short walk into town. We conquered the hill a couple times even though the western route into town was easier. The house was exactly as described and perfect for a couple nights stay.

The cottage was a great spot for my friend and I to rest and spend the night on our bike tour. There was a safe and private spot to store the bikes outside, comfortable accommodations, and plenty of restaurants down the hill. Thank you, Casey, for providing such a clean a cozy space!

Can’t say enough good words about the place and the hosts. Candy Ann and Freddie were amazing hosts, super friendly, very responsive, and extremely kind. In fact, this might have been the warmest welcome experience we’ve had in all our time using Airbnb. The house itself is wonderful - decor is making you feel right at home, squeaky clean, comfortable, and located close to many fun attractions you can take your family to. And don’t even get me started on the pets, Angel, Lulu and Jojo, who made my kid beam when we saw them. Overall, amazing experience, would highly recommend for singles, couples, and small families looking to have a vacation in Lancaster.

Very comfortable, clean, quaint cottage. Location was perfect for us since our daughter attended a seminar at Millersville University. Kitchen was well equipped and starter supplies were wonderful. Whoppie pies were a nice treat😊Birds, squirrels, rabbits and deer kept us entertained! Back porch was our favorite but also enjoyed the fire. Very peaceful Thank you Tammy!

Looking for a quiet, cozy place to stay and avoiding the frenzy while attending our daughter’s graduation from UD, this was a nice find. This is a bucolic setting on an active farm. We very much appreciated their hospitality and the nice “meet and greet” session with some of the four legged residents.

Ann and Nathan’s cottage was the perfect place for my young family. The fenced in yard was my young son’s favorite part, he enjoyed running around and I enjoyed the security. The local restaurants were delicious, we enjoyed Funks and Wasabi Bistro. Ann and Nathan had a flexible check in time which made traveling easier. Ann provided extra recommendations for my young kids to enjoy and the Children’s Museum is a MUST do! My family will definitely be booking with Ann and Nathan in the future!

Joe was right, the place is tucked away, and the parking was abundant and right where he said it would be. Beautiful location and walkable to the places we wanted to go. Joe is very responsive to requests. I didn't realize the window unit conditioners works not be in yet so I was a little concerned, but the nights were cool so it worked out fine. He turned on the downstairs air conditioner as soon as I mentioned my concern, so that helped a lot.

The Boat House is a unique place. We loved that it is right on the creek and especially enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the birds and other water life. Do note, there is a public park on the opposite bank of the creek, so it wasn't quite as secluded as we hoped. The house was cute and very clean. The hosts were proactive to let us know where to park since a lot of rain was forecasted. We enjoyed running at Natural Lands: ChesLen. It was a little further drive than Strouds Preserve (which we also visited), but less busy and had more creek crossings.
