Thank you, Lori, for the work you put into renovating this place and opening it up for visitors. We were in town for a funeral held at the Tabernacle so we could not have been in a more convenient spot. Your place was clean and inviting. My sister and I grew up coming to Dry Creek to spend time with our grandparents. When we would drive in at night time and saw this place with its lights on, it would mean we were almost to our destination. Dry Creek and the people there have always held a special piece of our hearts. I walked into this home and teared up with the nostalgia of it all. Imagine what a fun surprise when I was reading the framed Lake Charles article and saw my grandmother - Kathleen King - quoted! We look forward to staying again!

Beautiful place with everything you need. This place was exactly what I needed for my 1 night stay to visit Fort Polk. Hotels in this area looked very sketchy, so when I came a cross this modern/simplistic place I knew it was for me! I felt like I could live there. The trains are very close and pass by all day/night long. I luckily came prepared with some noise cancelling items and was able to sleep just fine. Highly recommend this place for anyone in the area.

The location is perfect if you want to be away from the main town, and it is quiet and safe. The apartment sits on top of a barn, and there are stairs you must use to get to it. Stairs are sturdy and didn't have any issues during winter. The apartment is clean and well-kept. Jim and his wife are amazing. They give you privacy but they're approachable and friendly. They have dogs, goats, and chicken on their property. If you work nights and have to sleep during the day like I did and a light sleeper, bring earbuds and eye mask. For the most part, the occasional animal noise put me to sleep. The owners are responsive as well.
