Monthly Rentals in Patarau River

We love staying at Kōtuku even when it’s raining! Which it did for most of our recent visit. Bellbirds, tūīs, piwakwaka all keeping us company and even little blue penguins too - they’re a bit noisy at night though!

The cottage was so delightful and was sunny and warm. You can see it was decorated with love! A bowl of fruit greeted me on the kitchen table and the kitchen had everything one would require. Cereals, tea, coffee and plunger coffee! and Milo. Milk in the fridge. Sugar cubes and raw sugar along with oils for cooking. And everything that was stated on the Airbnb site. It was across the road from the amazing Pākawau Beach. I lay on the deck at night and spent ages looking at the amazing night sky from this Dark Sky property. A great area for biking with so many walks and areas to explore. The hosts Jean And Bruce were just lovely. I live only a couple of hours away in another lovely spot but I won’t hesitate to book myself in for a few days for rest and relaxation and maybe share it with friends, if they are lucky! One of the loveliest stays I’ve had and felt privileged to stay on a dairy farm where four generations have grown up. Wonderful!

Insanely beautiful spot, almost especially because of the weather extremities! We went on adventures in the rain across the property and then settled back at the bach with the fire going and an outdoor bath running. This is the place to experience the WILD West Coast with the comfort of a warm, dry shelter. Fantastic to be able to take the dog too, and loved having the most private visitor bach on the property. We intend to make this a regular weekend escape!

This place is a slice of paradise! My family relaxed here for 3 lovely weeks. The location was walkable to town and was perfect from the moment we arrived with fresh baked bread on the counter!! The kitchen was atocked with coffee and tea as well as all the nessisary pans, dishes and utensils for cooking meals. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of extra pillows, towels and linnens. We relaxed in the garden, barbecued and visited the local spots for delicious food. We didn't need to ask for much, but Karina was a superior host and responsive when we had questions. The garden was spectacular. I'd give 10 stars if I could!!
