We loved it! it was perfectly located and spacious enough for us to be comfortable!

What a great place! Plenty of space, comfortable beds, and all the amenties you need for a short stay. I loved being able to walk into town for a meal or beverage. I also enjoyed sitting on the front porch.

Overall I had a great experience staying here. Check in process was simple and easy with a pin pad lock. The cabin itself was very clean on the inside. Unfortunately having a place out in the woods like that there are lots of bugs (ants) that tend to attract which we did have a lot of. However that would be any place like this. That is the on negative thing I can think of. The hot tub was definitely everyone’s favorite part and we enjoyed getting in it in the early mornings and late evenings. It’s very private and so peaceful!. The cabin is more than supplied with anything you might need. It has more stuff than any other place that I’ve stayed at. You feel right at home not having to worry about having stuff. I would definitely come back again this summer when we have some better weather!

Overall everything was great and as stated. No problems getting in once we found the cabin. Google maps took us to the wrong place so we had to use Apple Maps - that’s not 1st choices fault. Our stay, although short, was really good - the bed was awful but we were grateful to have a bed. Also - no hair dryer, but that was my expectation because it’s listed as an air bnb. Again - not a big deal. We will go back - hopefully for a longer stay

This airbnb was nostalgic, peaceful and absolutely beautiful. Denise was helpful, timely with any issues. The water tank was turned off, she right away came over and turned it on. We left a set of keys. Denise mailed them to us right away. Hot tub was clean. The horse in the stable next to the cabin was beautiful. I really like that Denise was right down the road. Denise referred us to trails, sight seeing and the happenings in the area. I just loved it there. So comfortable. We plan on scheduling another visit in the winter. Thank you so much Denise.

We wanted to find a place that wasn’t too far from home but would still be a little escape to take our boys to every year. This was our second year staying at this house. We could probably go later in the summer when it’s warmer and have more to do, but we like to go in the spring time. It’s secluded but not far from town or stores. Very private. Loved the paddle boat! We look forward to staying again next year!

A very nice and peaceful property to stay at and the company was very easy to work with when it came to checking in and learning about local attractions and restaurants. Even with the rain we were able to take in a decent bit of nature. Definitely will be going back.

Very cozy home. Only drawback from a travel perspective is that the area is extremely rural. If you are driving after dark, you might find it more challenging to navigate the roads and locate the property. We arrived right at dusk. This is only to alert people and has nothing to do with our actual stay or the owners, who was great. They left fresh eggs and sausage in the fridge for us! The property is incredibly peaceful and a wonderful place to unplug.

What a beautiful spot! If you’re looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and pristine spot near Ohio U and Hocking Hills, this is a MUST book. Emily was extremely accommodating with early check in and late check out so we could soak up as much quiet time as possible. The deck is a perfect morning coffee spot with plenty of bird species visiting regularly. A comfortable bed, a chef inspired kitchen, and great local recommendations rounds out a perfect reservation. After a long day hiking in Hocking or just exploring Athens (which is super eclectic and really fun!) Emily’s home is the perfect place to rest and unwind. I will definitely be booking again. Thank you for everything!

It has a good location and comfortable beds. Very Clean and well-organized, and Everything is functional. It was a pleasant stay for us, and I would recommend it.

We absolutely love staying here!!! It’s close to family which is always a plus! The coziness of the house is always welcoming and the house provides everything you may need. If not, there are a few stores around you can pick up a few things. Company was easy to work with and always very friendly every time I spoke to them. As long as it’s available, this will be our go to place on Nelsonville for visiting family!!

Hosts Brenda and Deborah were extremely warm, welcoming, and flexible! We were on a short trip for a graduation at Ohio University, about 12 minutes away. Due to delayed flights and 1.5 hour drive from Columbus Airport, we didn't arrive until 10:30pm, and Deb was waiting on the porch to greet us and get us settled. Very much appreciated! Communication was great, including directions (by phone) re: the country roads in the dark. The space is large, as described and seen in photos, sort of a "basement apartment" in a gorgeous area, very peaceful. The place and hosts are down-to-earth, as we had hoped, making our stay lovely and enjoyable. 😊 Thank you!

The place was very spacious and very clean! This home was built in the late 1800s so it was neat to stay in an old, historical home. This place is pet friendly and worked out well for our dog. Also very close to Hocking Hills which is what we needed.

Convenient location for our family get together in nearby Vincent. Very peaceful setting. Make sure you check-in while it is light out, as it is hard to find in the dark (we drove by it a few times).

Fantastic property in the most beautiful location. Even though the weather did not cooperate we really enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the rolling hills and bucolic scenery. Celeste really enhanced the experience with very good information on the location with things to do and places to visit. We celebrated our sons graduation during the weekend and the stay just enhanced the whole experience. Would happily book the same property for weekends in the future and would love to get use of the fire pit . I can really recommend this property

My boyfriend & myself had the most relaxing weekend getaway here. The views are amazing, this truly is a hidden gem. To fishing the pond, enjoying the view off the back porch, or sitting in the hot tub with an open sky of stars. This was so peaceful for us. We enjoyed a couple stops over to Athens for some coffee (highly recommend court street coffee) & also did some fishing in our boat at strouds run (highly recommend also) Mark was an excellent host & we can’t wait to book again!! :)

Homey. Felt like staying at a friends house with all of the extras. Lots of spices and leftover condiments, a few extra groceries in the fridge and freezer ( used some and left some), house just felt like you we welcome, not like a visitor, but like family. Close proximity to Dock #1 made it great to come and go as needed during a few days of great fishing.

Was an awesome stay for a weekend hunt. The place was clean and inviting. Would definitely stay there again.

Cindy has an amazing place to stay that was easily accessible for my family. Although we had a-lot of running around for my son’s graduation, it was nice to have a place to go back to rest up. Sorry we didn’t have time to meet face to face, but Cindy answered any emails promptly. We definitely recommend Cindy’s place to our friends that have children at Ohio U and want a close place to stay in the future. If we ever plan a trip back, we w look yo book again. the location was a dream. right on the Ohio River, so peaceful. don't know why anyone would go to the beach, this is so much better. watching the barges, the train, the wildlife. it was a dream. so relaxing, very well needed. very close to many towns for food and other necessities. we will be back! just a heads up, this is in the wild. you will see lots of creatures (like lots of stinkbugs lol) that you may not be used to at home. part of the territory. didn't bother us, but may bother some.

Love this cabin! Our second stay here. Comfortable and roomy in a beautiful setting. We especially enjoy the electric fireplace, very cozy! 1st Choice Cabin Rentals hosts are helpful and quick to respond. Will definitely try to book this Airbnb next time.

Overall, this place was GREAT! There was plenty of space, and it was very peaceful—perfect for a relaxing getaway. We stayed as a group of 7 (my wife, our 3 kids, and 2 adult friends), and it never felt crowded. Pros: Spacious, private, a nice pond nearby, great pool and hot tub, and a comfortable patio area to hang out. Cons: The beds were a bit loud and on the less comfortable side—not a deal breaker, but worth noting. Also, the couch and chair were broken when we arrived. They probably just need an update, though they were still usable and fairly comfortable. Despite a few minor things, the overall experience was very positive. We'd definitely stay here again!

My family and I stayed at this location for a full week while my daughter attended rowing camp at Marietta college. We had full occupancy over 7 nights, and I worked remotely during the day. Everything was perfect— we felt at home right away. The host was responsive and kindly allowed for an early check in. There is some traffic noise on weekday mornings as vehicles drive up the steep hill - so bring a noise machine if that bothers you. But all-in-all this location is an incredibly good value. We will definitely stay again!
