Family-friendly holiday rentals in Oceanside

I've stayed at Sandra's condo at the beach several times. I love the peacefulness of the space. The colors are relaxing and the location is very quiet. The parking space in the parking garage is super close to the condo which is really helpful. And there's a great view of Oceanside Harbor from the patio. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. With lots of walking paths and easy access to the beach. The community is gated which gives a nice feel of safety. It's an easy walk to Mission Blvd where there are many shops and restaurants available. It's also an easy walk to the Harbor with many more restaurants, especially if you like seafood. I look forward to my next stay at Sandra's place!

Our recent stay at Michelle’s Airbnb in Leucadia, California, was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Michelle has thought of every detail to make her guests feel at home. The property is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean, and impeccably maintained, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere that rivaled the coziness of our own home. The kitchen was a standout feature, fully stocked with everything needed to whip up almost any meal. From cookware to an impressive array of spices, we had all the tools to enjoy home-cooked dinners, which made our stay even more special. It’s rare to find such a well-equipped kitchen in a vacation rental! The location is perfect for soaking in the local culture. Right on the beach, we loved taking daily walks to explore the vibrant Leucadia community. The highlight, though, was watching the sunset every evening from the living room or deck—pure magic! Such a cute little spot to truly relax, was exactly as pictured.

We had such an amazing time. So many activities to do at Kathleen’s. Our kids love the pond, swimming pool, fishing, pickleball, and appreciate all the outdoors amenities. Definitely a gem to visit for families. The home is a little dated. But all the outdoor activities make up for it.

The VIEWS!!! Absolutely breathtaking. We could’ve spent the entire trip just soaking in that ocean view—it was seriously next-level. From sunrise to sunset, it was pure magic. We absolutely loved Kate’s place and Kate herself! She was the best host we’ve ever had. The property was beautiful, peaceful, and had such a fun, quirky charm that made it feel like a hidden gem. The bed was insanely comfortable, the robes were perfectly cozy, and the coffee? Delicious. The art supplies and hot tub facing the ocean were truly to die for—I didn’t even want to leave to explore San Diego because I was so content right there. We slept with the back door open to hear the waves crash all night long and let the ocean breeze in. The neighborhood felt super safe and had such a great vibe. We already know we’ll be back to see Kate every year. No doubt about it.

We had an amazing stay at Nicklas’s place in San Diego! The condo is beautifully renovated and right on the waterfront—waking up to those ocean views was such a treat. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked with everything we needed, making our stay super comfortable and convenient. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into making the space feel like a true home away from home. We would absolutely love to stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!

Vivian and John‘s cottage was a perfect place for a three day stay. Very peaceful and calm with beautiful surroundings and close to everything I needed to get to. I would love to come back at some point.

We had a fabulous time at the Granny Flat! Everything was pristine and Kristen has thought of every amenity. She was kind and responsive. We loved the peaceful backyard with gorgeous views. The location is super convenient and a max of 25-30 mins to anywhere else in the SD area. Our pups had a great time, too! Would love to stay here again!

Great location, close walk to the beach. Our family of 4 enjoyed using the boogie boards, beach chairs and bikes that were available to us. Coffee shops and breweries were close by. Warrens place was perfect for our little getaway. Would highly recommend!

This is such a gem located just a few blocks from Ocean Beach. You can’t beat the price/location. We didn’t have to move our car all weekend, everything we needed was walking distance to Edwin’s place.

We really enjoyed staying here, the location was great and the home is perfect for what we needed.

The pictures on the listing are darker than in real life. We loved loved our stay here. It was a throwback to easy living by the beach. Sadly Oceanside beach was taken over by the tide but we still made the short trip to Carlsbad and enjoyed the beach there. The sound of the waves and the friendly owners really helped us sleep well with our little 2 year old. Will definitely come back again. The owners even came and put away our stroller when we forgot to pack it and left it close to the street.

We really enjoyed our stay! It looked like the photos - it was actually larger than expected! For being a pet friendly bnb it was VERY clean. I am allergic to dogs but have a small hypoallergenic dog - usually linens/blankets in pet friendly bnb's have remnant pet hair but not at this place -- there was none! The bed was very comfortable - the couch was a bit worn/springy (but this may be because its a pull out) -- the living room chairs offered a more comfortable/supportive seat when needed. The kitchen was big enough to cook in (although we ate out the whole visit). Having reserved parking was awesome! The alley was a bit dirty (not the host's fault) and some people drive very fast through there (FYI). For summer visits, note: There was no AC in this place - I could see this being an issue if you're spending the day inside mid summer but it was cool for our visit so this was not an issue for us - the host provides some nice instructions on how to take advantage of the natural AC.

We are so grateful to have been able to stay at Gwynn's place, it is so peaceful and lovely. Like a secret garden getaway. We loved all the small touches, and beauty of the space. Gwynn made us feel very welcome and comfortable! The pool is amazing and the outdoor spaces are delightful. Can't wait to stay here again.

Everything was wonderful! My daughter and I loved it. Eva and Zach truly covered every little detail! Staying here has renewed my love for Airbnb's. I have noticed that some rentals have become less personal and more of a management style. Eva and Zach were responsive and detailed to my messages. Because of all the trees and plants we felt as if we were on a tropical vacation. The pool was nice, we had it to ourselves. The inside of the home felt as if it was newly remodeled, very clean. I agree that the stairs to go up to the bedroom area are a bit steep. However, I'm clumsy and I did not have an issue. The roof top deck was peaceful. The location was perfect not far from attractions, but also away from the traffic and noise. We are hoping to make this home our annual mother, daughter spot. If I have to use one word to sum up our stay it would be Zen! Oh! And take their recommendation and eat at Uncle Tony's! Seriously the best Italian food and old school customer service.

A perfect place for our family during our short stay in San Diego. Clean, comfortable, conveniently located and excellent value. Teri also went above and beyond and we really appreciated her proactive help.

This was the second time that my family stayed at this AirBnB, and we absolutely love the condo's proximity to the beach. The condo itself is clean with all the basic essentials that you need... boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and cooking supplies. Both of the times that we've stayed here the condo has been very quiet; we've never heard noise from neighbors. The condo community has several pools, hot tubs, and a tennis court plus the spectacular clubhouse with panoramic ocean views. There are lots of little coffee shops and places to walk to near the condo community and it's very family friendly. The mattresses and pillows are dated, but aside from that this condo is truly a gem.

Great place! Modern simple, deep tub, steam shower, comfy beds and pillows, peaceful environment. Wall-to-wall window doors look out into palm trees, chirping birds, lots of natural light. Note-there’s 2 entrances to underground parking of this. Parking entrance is LEFT side of building down the hill. Great to have dedicated indoor parking! Lovely stay

Kimberly‘s unit was a great option for a local event. It was spacious, convenient and very well priced. The kitchen was well appointed and there were excellent restaurants nearby. They were very responsive and checked in frequently during our stay. We would definitely recommend and rent this unit again.
