Beachfront holiday rentals in New Zealand

Beautiful location and sea views with access through 2 gates taking you to the rocky bay. Huge fully fenced yard great for our dog Judge and our 3 year old son. The chest of games and toys went down a treat for both and the 3 bdrm house had everything we could need for a weekend get away. The house was also lovely and warm AND we could see the mountain from the entrance way. Would definitely come back again. Thanks for having us, great hosts!

The beach batch was a perfect little spot for me to stay whilst passing through Picton during winter. Lovely a warm place and the big deep bath was lovely! Kitchen was really well stocked and the bed was really comfy. Thank you!

What a beautiful space. If you a looking for a fantastic holiday home for a couple or small family this is the place to be. Right across the road from the beach. So tidy and warm very clean. Mark was amazing! We enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure!!! Thanks for making our trip to Ohope special.

We made a last minute decision to stay at Whakatiwai and we are so glad we did! Roumata and Hunter made us feel most welcome. The setting is very coastal with spectacular views. The stone cottage is warm and comfortable with everything that we needed. The added extras of freshly baked bread and specially delivered coffee took everything up a notch, but our charming hosts made the stay really memorable. We will definitely stay there again.

I can not rate this house more highly. It is so peaceful, with the most incredible views out every window! There was nothing better than waking up and looking out the window to the mountain range, and that evening having an incredible hot spa heated by a log fire. The house is rustic, with ever piece of furniture quirky and well chosen for the space. The bathrooms were spotless and the fire was lit ready for us when we arrived which we really appreciated. The beach is so close by, listening to the waves was my favourite thing. As a family, we absolutely adored our stay here.

Myself and two friends found Lyndsay and Maurice's place a tranquil, peaceful place to have a break and get away for a catch up. It was great to be away from the hustle and bustle of Auckland. They are the perfect hosts and we felt right at home. The three of us found the beds extra comfortable. Hilton and Luna had a great time as well. It was so therapeutic looking out at the beautiful view of the water every day. We would definitely like to stay again. Thanks again Lyndsay and Maurice.

Beautiful home, perfectly set up with everything you might need. Very cosy, lovely furnishings, linen & little details. The fire was a treat & kept entire place warm for my elderly mum. Melanie is a great host, very helpful, thoughtful & went the extra mile to make our stay a perfect one. highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our one night stay right on the water. Place was as described, small but clean, plenty big enough for us and lovely linen and very comfortable bed. Great that it was pet friendly too. Would definitely recommend it.

Mark’s AirBnB is an experience rather than a stay. Is a combination of coastal rural Nz right on the doorstep (short boat ride away) from a bustling town Raglan where there are 5 star restaurants, super markets and everything you would need or expect. And the accomodation itself is nestled on a cliff top with 180 views of the harbour and if Raglan. Private, the feeling of seclusion and neighbour free - the best of both worlds made better by a host that balances your needs with respectful distance. Make a pizza in the wood fired oven and then warm your bones in the spa boat and arching the harbour u til the sun melts away listening to birds evening song. We can’t wait to head back and hopefully catch the big uncle of the 12 lb snapper we caught in the raglan harbour!!! Outstanding place.

We had an awesome time at the Beachside Bliss. Everything was just WOW. Ian made us feel right at home. The layout of the place is so kids friendly and safe. This was the most lovely accommodation! It was clean, well-appointed, and had the most beautiful view of the Bay. Wendy communicated well, and provided easy instructions for entry into the car park, and from there, into the apartment. Our two night stay was extremely quiet, which we expected, given it's not the high season, yet there was still enough going on about town that we never wanted for something to do! The location was absolutely ideal, as all businesses were within very easy, close-in walking distance. Our only wish is that we could have stayed longer, and we'll definitely look to return!

If you are looking for a well designed and comfortable Airbnb, while away from the busyness of the town, Robynne’s Airbnb is the best fit. By saying this, it’s still convenient to go to the town, you can choose water taxi, driving or Uber (approx $40 one way). The most relaxing moment was sitting in the living room with door opened, listening the birds singing, enjoying the cool breeze and watching the falling leaves… Thanks to Robynne who was so very kind and helpful to us during our stay of 8 nights. We are sure we will come back.

We loved everything about this property and couldn’t fault anything at all. The location, the cleanliness and amenities, everything was perfect. We would definitely be back!

We booked the apartment because of the epic view of the beach and it surely didn’t disappoint. We did wish the windows were cleaner so we could enjoy the view from inside the house too but understandably this was inevitable. We didn’t like that you have to pick up and drop off the key from another location during check in and check out, which is 10 mins drive from the apartment itself so if you don’t have a car then you might wanna look elsewhere. Tv remote wasn’t working and we couldn’t watch anything we want on the Tv without it. There was a super strict list of rules and a deposit needs paying via an app( which we weren’t told clearly about upon booking) . I still Don’t know if deposit has been returned or not, a confirmation of this would have been nice! Overall though we think it’s a great apartment- it is really roomy, beds are comfortable, great shower, and kitchen is very well equipped. :) many thanks for hosting us !

We had an incredible stay! The views were incredible and we enjoyed taking morning walks by the beach. The lodging was perfect for our weekend stay.

Absolutely loved our stay, fabulous view and the apartment had everything we needed. One tiny suggestion would be a couple of reading lights by the bed. We had a great time exploring the area over our 3 day stay. Thank you George and family

We loved our stay at Caroline’s. Right across the road from the beach, private with amazing views. Beautiful bed linen and bathroom. Great local eating and drinking recommendations. Lovely host! Very hospitable and responsive to our comms about (unexpected) change of checkin time. Would love to come back and highly recommend to others.

Absolutely stunning spot ! Felt very at home and relaxed during the stay, excellent instructions and communication before our stay. Could not recommend this place more, outdoor bath was fantastic!!

This was my second stay at this rental, and I would gladly keep coming back! The location is phenomenal and you can walk to so many great spots, including Cathedral Cove. The view is truly unparalleled and it’s something that leaves you in “awe” every time you glance outside the windows. Everything about this place feels like home and it’s still at the top of my favorite rentals!

Great place to spend a weekend, whether you’re looking to kayak, do a bit of snorkeling or fishing, or just walk along the beach and have a picnic. Will definitely be back in summer or on a sunny winter weekend to do some spearfishing. The accommodation was clean and tidy, Mike was awesome showing us around and what we can do around the area. Highly recommend!

A very well appointed property in beautiful Akaroa. She is a well loved property, beautiful location and filled with great memories.
