Casa Guarumo. The Cloud Forest Magical Villa.

JenniferRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This location is so beautiful and unique! It is like being in a multi tiered treehouse in the jungle that is a block from civilization. One afternoon we had monkeys visit us and play on the trees around the house and roof! The host and housekeeper are very responsive. Know that some beds and rooms are separate apartments. But the main house is beautiful wood with an open layout that we all met up in by the fireplace in the evening. Amazing memories and trip!

Villa Golondrina Monteverde surrounded by nature

RachelRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Marta’s place was exactly as pictured! It’s up in the cloud forest surrounded by beauty, nature, birds, and stunning views! You can tell a lot of care went into creating this place! Carlos was the friendliest and most enthusiastic guide! Don’t waste time researching other guides - he’s the best! Enthusiastic, friendly, warm, kind and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make sure we saw the animals we hoped to. He was great with our kids! We saw the resplendent quetzal, a keen billed toucan, a northern emerald toucanet, bats, viper, a tarantula, and so many more! We never would have known where to find these creatures. His scope was so powerful and we got to take pictures through it. We feel so lucky to have had these experiences with Carlos and stay at Marta’s place!

TheSunHouse1

LaurieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Evelyn’s place is wonderful- all the comforts of home on a gorgeous property with beautiful humming birds greeting us every time we opened the front door or arrived home. The house is well situated to drive to the main outdoor attractions, as well as downtown Santa Elena. We enjoyed meeting Evelyn and her young daughter and she provided a very comprehensive information booklet as well as telling us about good restaurants in the area. We were there during the rainy season, so our 4-day stay was a bit mixed but we did manage a couple of great hikes and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. On a final note, I’m very allergic to scents and Elena did a great job of finding un-scented laundry and cleaning products. Would absolutely stay here again!!

Monteverde Million Dollar View Eco-Villa

JenniferRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had an incredible stay at this Monteverde Airbnb! The location was perfect—peacefully tucked away in nature with stunning views and total privacy, yet just minutes from town. The porch and the shower, surrounded by windows and lush greenery, made us feel like we were in a tropical oasis, with birds all around. The space was spotless, the kitchen was fully equipped and spacious, and all the amenities were thoughtfully provided. Communication with the host was excellent, and we appreciated being able to drop off our bags before check-in. I wouldn’t change a thing and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Fireplace | Amazing Forest View | Sunset Skies

LauraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Mariliana’s place was one of the most beautiful homes I’ve stayed in, ever! The views when you step inside the property are breathtaking and the house is pristine - beautifully furnished, well kept, and well stocked. Look out for lots of amazing birds including beautiful toucans and impressive birds of prey flying around outside. Mariliana was a fantastic host and super accommodating to our needs. Would recommend to anyone staying in Monteverde looking for a little slice of paradise.

Nambí Monteverde

KirstyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a great time on the outskirts of Monteverde in this home. close enough to get to the attractions too. TV was good with apps available netflix etc. for when it was chucking it down with rain! can get a bit loud in the heavy storms with rain on the roof. The place was big enough to feel like a little home in the mountains. Clean and well thought out. Hot tub was a bonus! Thank you for having us.

Monteverde Mountain Chalet & Gardens

RobRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Rossy’s home was lovely, full of character and very spacious. There was only 2 of us staying so we had the pick of bedrooms and beds which were comfortable and clean. There was only garden as well is an absolute delight with many birds and other animals visiting, and there is a really nice porch to sit out and enjoy. There is parking but for anything large like a 4WD then park on the road which is quiet and safe, as the drive is very narrow. It is a short walk to several restaurants, bakeries, a really good food market and even some of the tours and activities. Rossy is a great host, warm and friendly. She can provide great recommendations for tours and restaurants, and is even a tour guide herself offering to take us on a private tour of the cloud forest during our stay. In summary, I have no hesitation recommending this home and having stayed over a week would happily return in the future.

Casa Urraca, Magnífica Vista al Océano Pacífico

RosaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Amazing view, even caught a rainbow early Friday morning! The house is just as described and was a peaceful and relaxing. There is a wonderful breeze blowing thru all day. The host is amazing as well. Walner and his wife are super welcoming and responsive. They leave welcome beverages and ground coffee from their land. The coffee was great and I highly appreciated them sharing some of their private stock as a welcome. The house is within 30 mins of all the Monteverde parks and central city. Lots of great restaurants and cafes nearby to try out. Will definitely come back if I return to Monteverde!

4 Villas for up to 16 people w/pool!

KarenRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We were two families with teenage kids and really enjoyed the sleeping arrangements and that each adult couple and sets of kids had their own bungalow. The area was peaceful and just outside of town but quick and easy drive/ride into town (no problem Ubering to town). It’s a very authentic accommodations but still had AC and full kitchen. The owner was very helpful and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Villa Tucán - La Fortuna

BeccaRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Great home with a centralized location. Very walkable to nearby shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. Our group of 6 had plenty of space to share and relax. Mario and Carlos went above and beyond to help coordinate our transportation and excursions. The house had many amenities including air conditioners in each bedroom and box fans that can be used in the common areas if you need to cool off after a long day of activities. Two bedrooms have excellent closet space and the other two have space to spread out personal items. The 4th bedroom and laundry room are secluded towards the back of the house but you may need a raincoat since there is not a covered path. The condensation in the fridge may pool on the top shelf - be mindful of any items you may store. Would highly recommend!

Casa Arena by la Fortuna Vacation Rentals

MaggieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is a beautiful house! It’s perfect for a vacationing family with so much room to spread out! The neighborhood feels incredibly safe and is easy to drive to and is a great proximity to town. The guards at the guard shack were always helpful! Be aware that every bedroom, except for the two with the king beds are in their own separate buildings that are not attached to the main house with different keys for each. This might be tricky if you have little kids. We would definitely stay here again and Danny is incredibly responsible and willing to help!

Beautiful Villa in Paradise

AmberRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Absolutely stunning stay! The host was incredibly responsive and gave us a full tour upon arrival. He was also very flexible as our arrival time changed due to traffic and flights. The pictures don’t do the property justice—it’s immaculate, peaceful, and beautifully designed with thoughtful details throughout. You’re fully immersed in the rainforest with the sounds of wildlife and even a family of sloths on site! There are so many areas to relax and enjoy nature. The on-site staff was attentive and helpful with anything we needed. Even though there are a few other homes on the property, it still felt very private and secluded. Perfect for both small and large groups, with the option to rent the entire estate. Highly recommend and would love to return! Thank you, Andy!

Wow, where do we even begin! We were absolutely blown away by how responsive and attentive Daniel and his team were. They truly went above and beyond to make our first visit to Costa Rica an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, they made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Their recommendations were spot on—from activities to dining, everything exceeded our expectations. Their home was beautiful and in a perfect location, which made it easy to explore and relax at the same time. We also really appreciated the wide range of services they offered, which made everything run so smoothly and stress-free. A special shoutout to our tour guide, Adrian, who was incredible knowledgeable and made the entire experience both enjoyable and memorable. Adrian struck the perfect balance—friendly and personable, yet always professional. We couldn't have asked for a better guide! We can’t thank Daniel and his team enough. Highly recommended! Pura vida!

Casa Amor by la Fortun Vacation rentals

JuliaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We stayed here with a group of college friends and had an unforgettable experience. The house was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. The pool and cabana were cozy and perfect for relaxing after days of exploring. The views of the volcano were absolutely stunning, and we loved being surrounded by the sounds and sights of the rainforest — it really felt like a tropical escape. We saw lots of wildlife during our stay, which made the experience even more special. Our host was incredibly accommodating and communicative, always quick to respond and full of great local suggestions. They even left us some special treats, which was such a thoughtful touch. There was plenty to do nearby, and thanks to the host’s recommendations, we made the most of our time. We’d definitely come back — highly recommend for groups looking for a peaceful and scenic stay in Costa Rica!

Lake view Cattle Ranch Villa

HannaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
First and foremost, the view was absolutely incredible. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the porch or reading from the small pool with the scenery of this villa. Everything was exactly as described and was very clean. Cristina, the co-host, was responsive to all our messages/questions/concerns and was even able to provide room service. There were also horses out and about in the pastures behind the villa! The only downside to this place was the location. The roads are unpaved and hard to navigate, especially in the rain or dark. The location is pretty remote and far from any big towns, so be prepared to drive, even for groceries. The listing mentioned that you would need a 4x4, so be sure you have one, you’ll definitely need it. Otherwise, I have nothing bad to say! Overall, this place was great and we loved it. The hosts were very friendly and their property was extremely welcoming!

Hidden Tropical Paradise

MichelleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Marco was an amazing host. He was very responsive and helped us with anything that we needed. The property was beautiful. Felt private, loved the little lounge pool and the hammocks all over the property. The back patio was nice and big and we could sit out there and watch the rain and the animals. We saw howler monkeys and tons of birds since Marco puts fruit out for them every day. Having a washer and dryer was an added bonus. The location was perfect and super close to town. Each room had its own AC unit which kept the place nice and cool.

Arenal Nest Villa

JeffRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Great, unique stay. Would visit again. Pros: - Amazing jungle locale. Gorgeous gardens. Hosts have really designed this place with love. I chose this place specifically for the remote location, which has a lot of plusses, since La Fortuna can be a bit of a zoo. - Spent hours on front porch finding birds with the Merlin app -- highly recommend. - Well built house with many artistic touches all over. Cons: - Remote location makes dinner strategy important. We drove back at night a few times, which is tricky with the local roads. Takes about 20m. - Furniture is a little flimsy. Beds/pillows are just ok. Consider providing suitcase stands. - River & golf access have been cut off by new construction in the area. We spent about 20 minutes trying to get to both with no success. - Hot tub does not get hot, or really even warm. Listing does not say "hot tub", but when people see a picture of a pool and hot tub, they assume it's a hot tub.
