Family-friendly holiday rentals in Monteverde

We absolutely loved this place. It is well maintained and has everything you need. It feels like home. The woodwork in the house is so beautiful. The property is gorgeous and has trails to explore. Carolina and Manuel arranged to get some specially requested food for our stay. They had the food there for our arrival which was so helpful. Manuel took us on an awesome night hike. Carolina’s husband also gave us a tour of the property too. Carolina and her family really go out of their way to make this a welcoming place. They grow amazing coffee on the property which we really enjoyed. They also shared their garden veggies and the bananas. We stayed 4 days and wished we had stayed longer. We found it easy to go into Monteverde for activities like coffee tours, cloud forest, animal sanctuary el Tigre waterfall, etc. There are some great restaurants close by the house and of course in monteverde too. We enjoyed ordering homemade empanadas from cafe Horizonte for breakfast.

Our family truly enjoyed staying at Chiri Glamping. Our son had a great time climbing on the rock wall, swinging, sliding, and soaking in the hot tub. The bed and linens were the most comfortable of all our accommodations in 12 nights in CR - luxurious and plush. The bathroom was surrounded by nature and the shower products were soothing and relaxing, and everyone had their own robe. The essential oils were a nice touch, and the ac kept the room cool and inviting. We cooked dinner in the well stocked kitchen, and my husband got an amazing cocktail in the beautiful restaurant. The front desk staff was friendly, thorough, and escorted us to our room. The view overlooks Santa Elena and it was striking to watch the clouds come in and then go out within minutes. This is truly and special experience. We did hear music in the night from a nearby business and there was a bike race in the morning that woke us quite early, but in this convenient to town location, it is inevitable. Recommended!

This place is excellent and I would recommend it in a heart beat. It looks just like the pictures, it is super private and has an excellent location, walking distance to several restaurants and close to grocery shops. The instructions provided to access the place are very clear and everything was so clean and neat.

We loved our stay at Magdalena’s house. It was like a private tropical paradise and Magdalena is the perfect host. Max planned our excursions for us and was SO helpful. The house was lovely but the backyard was amazing. The house features a wrap around porch with a comfy couch and chairs and large outdoor dining table. There is a separate large outdoor kitchen area with grills, additional seating and a hot tub. The infinity pool is steps away. The view from all vantage points is breathtaking and the grounds are landscaped beautifully. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean with rain showers and plenty of hot water. The AC worked perfectly and kept us cool. Esmeralda came daily and even did our dishes and laundry. The house is a 40 minute drive to the Arenal area. The main roads into La Fortuna were well maintained. The drive was long but easy. Shopping was a bit of a challenge but there are local “supermarkets” and a Maxi Pali in La Fortuna. Enjoy!

Hands down the best place to stay in La Fortuna. David was very responsive and got me checked in right when I arrived. The cabin is GORGEOUS. It feels like it’s in the middle of the rain forest. The inside of the cabin was the cleanest Airbnb I may have ever stayed at. Truly spotless and didn’t have bugs which I have found to be impossible in Costa Rica. The bed was so comfortable and the view from the kitchen made me so happy in the morning. It even has a little patio area underneath the cabin. Wish I could have stayed longer!! I’d recommend staying here over staying at a fancy hotel. You feel immersed in Costa Rican nature while still feeling very comfortable. Honestly this place felt like a nice hotel but way better. It’s worth it.

Our stay at the “pie in the sky” was awesome. We prefer a slightly more remote place, and this place had it in spades. Insanely beautiful views and perfect for our family as a home base while we were exploring La Fortuna and all its surrounding areas. Would absolutely go back.

Would highly recommend! The space is so cozy and inviting. Close walking distance to many restaurants and shops. We felt at home 🥰

I can’t describe how much we loved Jason’s place. The outdoor space was beautiful and so fun to hang up with family. The whimsical decor in each room left me smiling. I have stayed in BnBs abroad and around the US and none have come close to bringing this special.

It's better than how it's shown in pictures! The place is very quiet and relaxing! The attention of the super friendly staff especially Flory! We went with the pets and they were super well received to a bed they gave us for them, the view and the sunset from the place is amazing The cool pool and green area surroundings you need to rest

A typical recreational quinoa with each very clean and well equipped comfy. The excellent social area. We did BBQ and it has a great time at the pool. Extremely special night with lights and everything you need. Come on and shower outdoors as well. A 10! Very communicative hosts.

Once you find the place it’s easy to get to it again. Since addresses are a bit not a thing here it is frustrating but the host was helpful and make sure you use Waze

Awesome facility! It was exactly as described. Very quiet. very private, and very safe. The pool is definitely what stood out the most. It was very relaxing. Norwin thought of everything! He was very helpful. We saw a lot of hummingbirds. The bedroom was ample size with plenty of storage. We enjoyed our stay there immensely and look forward to returning.

Excellent location and views! Ronald and Christopher were more than welcoming and even provided different excursions. We highly recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in La Fortuna! The highlight was definitely the stunning Arenal Volcano views—right in the backyard, it felt surreal. The location was perfect—close to all the best spots in La Fortuna, yet peaceful and private. The house itself was very clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was extremely responsive and helpful throughout. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

We had an amazing time at this property! The house was incredible. The views were absolutely breathtaking and made every morning feel special. One of the most memorable moments was when a toucan came to visit us right on the property. We were lucky enough to snap some photos. Hopefully I can upload them here somehow. Everything about the stay exceeded our expectations. Ana was very responsive and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. if you are looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended and would love to come back.

We were 6 people including 2 children, for a 4-day stay. Everything went well. we particularly liked the pool, the calm of the wooded, flowery and particularly neat park, the animals, the driveway and the walking path in the forest.. Eduardo, the caretaker, was kind and helped us when we needed it. In short, we loved our stay.

what a place. location is perfect for walking anywhere in La Fortuna while still remaining quiet and peaceful. John had spot-on recommendations as well for tours and activities!!

Had a great vacation at this beautiful home, we are a family of 5 with 3 girls (15, 13, and 11). The kids loved having their own room and bathroom. The "kids room" is located in the back corner of the property with the pool in-between the main guest house and the kids room, worked out great for us. We loved the open air outdoor kitchen. House is nicely removed from La Fortuna but the main guest house does back to the road and can hear the traffic, while light, in the evenings and morning while sleeping, not a big issue. We spent our days exploring the area, loved the food at Jalapas, La Fortuna waterfall, rope swing, ATV and Hot Spring combo excursion (La Finca Lodge, check it out! Only 12 people at the hot spring), and Judah set us up on a white water rafting trip that was a blast! Pool was bigger than expected and enjoyed while we were on the property. Used the propane grill and outdoor burners. Beds comfortable. The grounds are very well kept and have a very nice walking path.

We have stayed at Casa Isabelita multiple times. It is always so peaceful. We hope to stay again.

We had a marvelous time! We stayed almost a month and this beautiful suite has everything you need to stay long term. If you need anything else, you can borrow it from the hosts as they live in the big hacienda. Get a tour of it, it’s a work of art! The grounds are landscaped so beautifully too. We saw Toucans flying by our windows and the sunsets are spectacular. Nancy and Andy are outstanding hosts and made our stay memorable by including us in their social life and introducing us to their friends. Andy is also a fabulous chef. Andy hooked us into the pickleball community and we played 3-4 times a week. At first we didn’t have a car and Andy to gave us rides. We also used Ubers and that worked well. Andy put us in touch with a local guy and we rented a car at a decent price. We would recommend having a car while staying here. We are thinking of ways to bring our friends here next time 😃

We loved our stay at cabin 11. Everything was just as advertised. The view from the back deck was beautiful. It was easy to walk to several restaurants and also a small store where supplies could be purchased. The morning breakfast for $7 was well worth the money. The area was convenient to the main town of La Fortuna. Just a short hike down to the river. We had a wonderful peaceful time!

The place is very nice, however, with the rainy weather it is not very favorable. Otherwise, everything was good.
