While it was a little tricky at first to find our way to and from the house (it's set slightly back from the shore), we quickly got the hang of it. The neighborhood is genuine and friendly, and the house itself is impressively well equipped. Highly recommended for a stay that feels both restful and rooted in the local area.

Camilla’s place is absolutely stunning. Tucked away in a sand dune within sight and sound of the ocean. The tide is wide and creates a sandy expanse at low, and a choppy sea at high The open living space is spacious with high cathedral roof and a large sitting area with a kitchen area large enough for all four of us to prepare meals. The dining table is big and sturdy. The bedrooms are also spacious with king beds and full square mosquito nets. The bathrooms are large and open. The house staff, Baraka and Salma welcomed us on the beach as we arrived and to tote our bags to the house. They are discreet and let us be independent with cooking and cleaning. They offered to wash laundry, made beds, and Baraka even helped us find wine at a local shop. Truly one of a kind. Thank you Camilla and team.

Abdulrahman's place was a beautiful, soulful home away from home as we stayed in Shela. Upon our arrival on the Shela seashore, Loice and team met us at the boat, helped us with our bags and gave us a warmhearted welcome. They and Abdulrahman were always responsive. And when there was an issue with a broken window in the apartment, Abdulrahman immediately moved us to another beautiful unit in the building. The apartment is light-filled, airy and spacious. The interior design is charming. It is clear that the space is created and maintained with a keen eye for beauty and with much care. The bed is comfortable. We slept very peacefully in the quiet privacy of the apartment. There are quite a few stairs to climb to the apartment. Noting this for guests who need to take into account such considerations.
