Holiday rentals with lake access in Michigan

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful first getaway at Sarah’s place. The property was peaceful, private, and the perfect spot to relax and unwind. We had a great time visiting Na-Tah-Ka, exploring Ludington, the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and more — but some of our favorite moments were just spent enjoying the quiet beauty of the property itself. We’ll definitely be back to soak in the tranquility and natural surroundings again. Sarah was a kind and responsive host, and her place is absolutely worth the stay. 🌲

This was our 2nd time here. We loved it. Very cozy home. We enjoyed the beach, canoes and bonfires at night. Many falls around the area. Plenty of room for our 6 members of the family. Very peaceful. Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful home, nestled on a small no wake lake. Well stocked for all of our needs. Quiet neighborhood. Conveniently located near Shipshewana. Perfect for our senior girls trip.

My husband and I, along with our 3 Siberian huskies stayed for 2 nights. We wished it was for longer! Jenna granted us an extra hr for check out which we really appreciated! Also, this house is incredibly clean. We were both impressed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. Something to note: there’s about 3-5 ft of water before you get into “muck” and the lake is full of seaweed. We brought our paddle board and floated around. The water is very clear and it was actually quite beautiful to look at the fish and even the seaweed looked beautiful. There are some deeper parts that you could definitely avoid touching any weeds. But just something to note if you plan on swimming. Also, we didn’t explore the entire lake so not sure what the far half is like. SUNRISES ARE GORGEOUS HERE! I would book this place just to watch the sunrise. And lots of wildlife. I would think kids would really enjoy it! Turtles, geese, tons of fish, loons. Again, overall highly recommend

It looks exactly like the photos but the lake is prettier in person. Daniel was very responsive during the entire process and made sure we’d have everything we needed. Made my birthday very special! Definitely plan on booking again in the future.

We came into town to stay for a few days to celebrate a birthday. the home was absolutely gorgeous, modern, and everything was carefully thought out. Anything you could need, they have thought of! The hosts were very communicative and the fact that we could bring the pups, really made this trip more fun. The only suggestion I have would be to possibly add a fence and a hot tub, then you have no reason to leave! 😉

A peaceful getaway for our little family. It really does have everything for a relaxing stay. The view is amazing, the pool was nice and big very clean with tons of floats. The hot tub was great 😌. Cooked out on the grill when it was nice out and ordered pizza and did a puzzles when it rained, we couldn’t have gotten a more relaxing mini vacation. I will definitely tell friends and family about this location. Our dog 🐕 loved the fenced in yard and we very much enjoyed the fire pit! If we actually knew how to kayak we definitely would have used what they provided. Don’t hesitate with this hidden gem! You won’t regret it.

If you are visiting pictured rocks lakeshore and Lake Superior, this is the place. The house is very clean. Rich is very helpful and responsive. Highly recommended

I absolutely loved my stay at this charming studio! It had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing solo retreat. The setting is incredible - right on the water. The views were breathtaking, especially at sunrise, and the private sandy beach made it feel like a hidden oasis. The landscaping is gorgeous , and the beachfront seating, fire pit, and beach toys made it easy to unwind and enjoy. The patio was a perfect spot to relax with a view and peaceful atmosphere. The owners were so kind and welcoming. It felt tucked away, yet still close to everything. Truly the best of both worlds. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, and relaxing stay with stunning setting.

Overall, we had a great experience! It was just as described. Meredythe was very hospitable and accommodating. I appreciated her making me and my guests feel at home. I really enjoyed kayaking on the beautiful lake. Also the adorable pups were a bonus to our stay ❤️ I would recommend booking it out🙂

What a wonderful weekend we had in Marquette celebrating my son's NMU graduation with family. This unique home feels inviting, warm and cozy and the location and setting are absolutely gorgeous offering stunning water views of Lake Superior. We were fortunate to see an eagle too. The privacy it offers was peaceful and the special lookout viewing areas to enjoy the lake were well planned as well as the relaxing sauna, indoor & outdoor gathering areas, wildlife including birds & squirrels, a pond and the beach & rock formations as well. Located a short drive to town and in close proximity to the great hiking areas and water falls too. The host was lovely, very responsive, and informative. Our family so enjoyed this special home and our visit to Marquette and many cherished memories were made!

This place was amazing! Right by the action but still felt private. It has everything you need for a great stay. The hosts were responsive kind and flexible with us. Couldn’t have been better!!!

Location was perfect for all of the up north adventures like sleeping bear dunes, Leelanau Peninsula, hiking, golfing, and of course Lake Michigan. This spot was a perfect quiet retreat at the end of the busy days, and had stunning views! I would happily stay here again.

Jeffery had a wonderful air bnb right in the heart of traverse city! It was so nice to be able to walk to all the activities and restaurants in the area. In addition- the place has so much charm and the bed was extremely comfortable!

We come to South Haven frequently and this will be one of our favorites. Great location, you can walk everywhere and the back deck was perfect for an evening glass of wine while the sun set. Great view of the Black River from the back desk as well.

What a great stay! I love an A frame and this house was perfect. It was well stocked - even had plenty of wood for the fire pit. The s'mores welcome kit was perfect. I will say that if you have a hard time with stairs then this house probably isn't for you because the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs but Carrie has several other homes to choose from. It really is peaceful. There are neighbors but they are quiet and we only saw one set of neighbors the three days we were there. The dirt roads to the house weren't bad either. I will stay here again and highly recommend it to friends and family. Actually am seriously considering taking my 3 college age daughters for a girls' weekend.

Booked Holly's place for a week to fish Lake MI - even though we were 35 minutes from the launch, we really liked the location and solitude. We loved this place and space - and the price was great. This is a wonderful place for anyone seeking peace and quiet and worked very well with us - thank you Holly!!!

My family and I had an amazing and wonderful time at Erick’s home. It was clean, well put together and it felt like home. Erick was so helpful and inviting we felt like family. I can’t thank you enough Erick for helping my family and I make beautiful memories. BTW the walk to beach was a piece of cake, and I’m 5 months pregnant. 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♀️💨. This was the second time staying at Fran's place and we had a great stay. Fran's cottage is super cozy and well-appointed, with everything you need for cooking, whether you are preparing a simple meal or having a big BBQ. The couch is comfy and the beds are too. Since the front room window of Fran's cottage has an up close view of a small, uninhabited woody island, we didn't have to go very far for morning birdwatching! The cottage is in a small, quiet neighborhood and it feels very calm and far away from busy city life. However it's not a long drive to Detroit or other big cities/towns. We had some amazing canoe and kayak paddles on the lake and enjoyed seeing all the wildlife. The cottage is right on the water, so launching was simple. We especially appreciated that Fran took the extra time to leave nice snacks and coffee, much appreciated after a long trip.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect with modern bathrooms and a large kitchen. The private beach is awesome and we enjoyed s’more with the fire pit. We were there in early June and there were lots of mosquitoes so be prepared. Our host was very attentive and provided information to assist with our visit. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Had an absolutely wonderful time at this rental. It was close to everything for a short drive but at the same time sitting out on the lawn was quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay here again if we drive through the area.

This cottage on the lake was absolutely beautiful. The views from the house were breathtaking. I came with my fiancé and mother in law and we sat at the fire pit and enjoyed the sunset! The house was cute, small and clean, but plenty of space for us! Jera was very responsive. She gave very detailed instructions on how to get to the cottage and we found it easy! She also gave us local recommendations and answered a few of our questions once we got to the property! Would definitely recommend and I would love to go back!

Every time we stay here, it feels like we’re the very first guests. Our first visit to the cottage was two years ago, and we knew right away we’d be back! You can spend your days kayaking, fishing, playing in the sand, and watching eagles swoop down to catch fish from the lake. Take a trip to the dunes and enjoy the thrill of a Mac Wood Dune Ride with stunning views of Lake Michigan. Or simply relax—take a nap in the comfy beds and spend your evenings around the fire, watching the sun set over the lake. The hosts feel like friends, the house is perfectly maintained and spotless, and the water is crystal clear and refreshingly cool. The hardest part is leaving this little gem! Don’t miss Cherry Point for fresh-baked goods every day and the best Cherry Butter ever! We also love stopping by Whippy Dip for a sweet ice cream treat (they even have lactose-free options!).
