Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Mattapoisett

Our 3rd summer on West Island and this has been our favorite airbnb so far (and one of the others was waterfront!). We felt so at home. It was my husband, me and our two boys (3.5yo and 6 month old). Very clean and comfortable. Only minor issue (for us specifically) is the stairs aren’t very safe for toddlers if you have them sleeping alone in one of the bedrooms. We ended up locking our toddler in the twin room each night so he didn’t walk out and fall down the stairs middle of the night. I realize this is a very specific problem, so this place gets 5 stars from us and we hope to be back again!

This was a Perfect Beach Escape – Ideal Location The location is fantastic – just a short stroll to the beach and a quick walk to town, where you’ll find everything from cozy cafes to trendy shops and local restaurants. You can go from a lazy beach day to a shopping store. The house itself is a great. It’s beautifully decorated with a coastal vibe, filled with natural light, and impeccably clean. The layout is perfect for relaxing, with plenty of space in the living area and a fully equipped kitchen, ideal for when you want to cook up a meal. The outdoor spaces are amazing too – a spacious deck with comfortable seating, a grill, and the sound of ocean waves in the background. One of the highlights is the attention to detail. Do yourself a favor and book this lovely home for your next vacation. From communication to cleanliness and comfort, you won’t find a nicer place to stay. We have never stayed at an AirBnb that had everything we needed: - Extra towels - Fully and I mean fully equipped kitchen - washer/dryer w detergent & fabric sheets - forgot shampoo, toothpaste or Q-tips? No need to run out to the store, they have you covered! - multiple pillows so you can choose the one you’re most comfortable with - water views with ducks! We couldn’t take advantage of the lovely deck due to the weather but we enjoyed the views everyday! There was honestly nothing missing. Lindsey and Patrick have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. They didn’t skimp on quality. No stained, rough towels or sheets, no rusty cookware. They even had a popcorn maker, food processor, food scale, and multiple coffee makers. Thank you, Lindsay and Patrick for a stress free vacation!

Caitlin was a wonderful host! The home is located in a beautiful quaint MA sea town. It is 2 blocks to the water and walkable to local restaurants. It is an easy commute if you are looking to explore in Plymoth and Boston. The natural landscape is breathtaking and the area is full of beautiful wildlife. Our kids enjoyed spending hours at the local beach findining shells jellyfish, sea snails, etc. Caitlin was warm and welcoming, ready to answer any questions. She provided great local recommendations and clear instructions with the home. We would chose to stay on this property again in a heart beat.

Amazing attention to details. This was absolutely the first Airbnb that was better than its photos -- truly impeccable, comfortable and an abundance of all the necessities -- more than ample supply of towels. All of the rooms and furnishings were incredibly comfortable. And I had numerous questions before the trip and every question was answered promptly and thoroughly. Truly the best Airbnb experience I have had. Hosts are kind and thoughtful. They made sure we had everything we needed. House is spotless. Beds very comfortable. Perfect location with the beautiful water view. Great restaurants around. And easy trip to Boston from the local train station just 10 mins away! We hope to come back soon!!!

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage is cozy, clean, and organized with everything you need. The private lane and beach access is a great plus- our daughter loved walking down to the tide pool in the morning to collect shells and watch the crabs scuttle around. We enjoyed our time at the house and hope to return soon!

I loved this little stay, it was very peaceful and lovely. Matthew was an excellent host and the snacks and breakfast options were a lovely addition to the amenities. Matthew is a really thoughtful and lovely host, I'd love to stay here again on my next visit to Providence/Pawtucket :)

We went to stay at Cathleen's for my very first big ticket concert. We were met by her mom Judy who was very kind and helpful. The place was very homely , very clean, had a beautiful garden and the property is stunning! We had a great stay, would go back! And highly recommend!

We had such an amazing stay. We felt right at home and were very comfortable with the place. Carolyn was very responsive and helped with everything we needed. Shout out Ali for fixing our little problem. We loved it here and would stay again!

My daughters and I spent the weekend here, and it truly was a perfect stay! We traveled from New Jersey to visit my nephew who lives in New Bedford, and the apartment’s location—just 6 minutes away—couldn’t have been more convenient. The space was spotless and beautifully maintained. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything I needed to prepare a delicious Saturday morning breakfast. The bathroom was impressively spacious, and I have to rave about the towels and bedding—absolutely luxurious! The bath towels, in particular, were divine. I’d love to know where they were purchased so I can get some for my own home. The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and the thoughtful touches—like the lovely houseplants—gave the apartment a warm, homey feel. I'm so glad I found this gem! I visit the area often and will definitely be booking again. Vania provided clear, detailed instructions and was incredibly responsive throughout our stay. A solid 10 out of 10 across the board!

This was our second time staying at Carlina's place. It's a lovely apartment attached to the house with a private entrance. Very safe and well-kept, clean and very comfortable. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and the sofa bed was very comfy too according to my teenage son. Fully equipped kitchen, not to mention the fresh eggs she leaves for her guests from her own chickens. They made for a delightful breakfast with our leftover Portuguese pops (rolls) from Antonio's restaurant (wonderful authentic Portuguese food--go!). Plenty of towels, toilet paper, linens, toiletries, and laundry detergent. Carlina is an extremely responsive host and I will stay with her again! Thank you for everything!

We absolutely love traveling to Newport — it’s our favorite destination for a quick, last-minute getaway, and every time we visit, it feels like a breath of fresh air. This charming coastal town never disappoints, and staying at Pelham Court made our recent trip even more unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, Pelham Court felt like a dream. The location is unbeatable — nestled in the heart of downtown Newport, we were steps away from the waterfront, great restaurants, and boutique shops, yet it still felt like a quiet retreat. The building itself is picture perfect, with a timeless New England charm that instantly puts you in vacation mode. The accommodations were spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. It’s such a peaceful nestled off the main strip and perfect for my morning runs!

Great location for local coffee shops and restaurants and very walkable! Only about 15 min walk to Thames/Bowman’s Wharf. We really enjoyed the deck on a sunny morning before going out for the day. Would stay again!

Anna’s place was exactly what we needed to have a peaceful and relaxing Memorial Day weekend stay. We knew the weather might be on the cooler side, so purposefully wanted to stay where there was the possibility of using the indoor pool – the sponsored guest passes were a huge benefit here, and Oceans Edge staff even went above and beyond, adding an extra day to our pool access since we were picking them up so late in the day. The condo was clean and filled with all the essentials, in a very quiet area of the property. Would definitely stay again!

Host was responsive and helpful, instructions were clear. The apartment was clean and very nice, we enjoyed eating dinner on the porch. It was easy to drive to downtown Providence and Gillette Stadium. It was easy to get to and a lot of space for parking (we all arrived mostly separately and there was space to park all 3 cars). Also, we were all very impressed by the shower and the water pressure lol. A great location and great Airbnb!! I would def recommend this spot and would come back! 😊

I had a wonderful stay! The space was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Perfect for a good night’s sleep after spending the day out. I came to Dennis, MA to celebrate a friend’s birthday and used the space primarily for resting, and it was just what I needed. The heat worked well, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return if I’m in the area again.

Alex’s place was a great stay to recharge and relax after the long days we had last week. I would highly recommended this place for anyone popping through New Bedford, or staying for a few days! The airbnb was spotless and quiet and clean. I will be renting here again when I need somewhere to stay when I’m back in New Bedford! Also very close to downtown all the coffee shops, and restaurants! Quiet neighborhood.
