  • Sail on the Schooner Fame of Salem
Haul up the sails! Take the tiller! Or just chill out with a Rum Punch or Deacon Stormy while our historic schooner slides through Salem Sound past lighthouses, forts, and waterfront homes. The captain and crew will explain the significance of the FAME, privateering, and the War of 1812. The firing of the cannon is always a highlight! We'll motor out from Pickering Wharf Marina in downtown Salem and then call for volunteers to help raise the sails. Once the sails are up, depending on the wind, we may shape a course toward Beverly... or Marblehead... or head straight out toward the islands! Our interactive crew point out landmarks, explain the operation of the schooner, and mix drinks with equal facility! The sails last roughly an hour and forty-five minutes. When we return to Pickering Wharf, you're right in the heart of downtown Salem — perfectly placed for a meal, a drink, or a stroll! Other things to note We will not sail if steady rain, high winds, or thick fog are expected. Call ahead if you are unsure about the weather. Dress for the weather — you are exposed to the elements on our 1812 schooner! This is not a cruise ship or passenger ferry! This trip is not appropriate for infants or toddlers. But once kids are 4-5 years old, they really enjoy it!

We’ll step into the oldest continuously run hotel in America & explore the rich history of this beautiful hotel. Onto King’s Chapel Church & the oldest burial ground in Boston. We will see the brutalist masterpiece- New City Hall & conclude at the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area. You might want to shop or get a drink or meal at one of the many restaurants & bars at the end of the tour. I will share recommendations for things to do & places to eat. • Providence: An improbable narrative
First, bring a mask. We'll start on the river in front the silver circle sculpture and then weave around Brown University and College Hill, stopping to talk at lookouts, colonial sites, public sculptures, hidden gardens, and, for Crimetown fans, the scene of the "Nightmare on Power Street. " Roger Williams called Rhode Island a "lively experiment." I'll do my best to report how it worked out for Rhode Island and the nation. The walk is just two miles and should take about 2 hours. It's hilly. So bring good shoes.
