Monthly Rentals in Marsh Island

Great place to stay for us and our big dog. Did a lot of walking and exploring, looking for wildlife. did a lot of birding - it was awesome. there's a marsh behind the house and a bayou across the road in front. saw some gators and beavers paddling around. we also visited the state park just down the road. nice boardwalk and of course more birding and beavers. Did not get to see black bears. Maybe next time. Had everything we needed. got to watch a storm roll in over the bay. Really enjoyed our stay. Will happily return and highly recommend.

Our stay in the charming Moon over Bayou cottage was absolutely wonderful. Living right by the bayou with gators in the back yard lined with live oaks was a truly magical experience. It was more than we had hoped for. The cottage is decorated with so much charm, creativity and pure taste, we loved every part of it. What can I say? Even more beautiful than in the pictures. And the beds are incredibly comfy :) We loved sitting on the porch, watching the wild life, listening to all the frogs, cicada and more. Spotted some turtles too. Lauren’s instructions were very clear, making it incredibly easy to find the location (just keep your eyes peeled for the correct drive way)! Throughout the stay she also responded swiftly when needed.

Very relaxing and peaceful stay right along the bayou. We loved the character and decor of the space. The hot tub and the dock outside were nice amenities. Beds were super comfortable and there is an oversized claw foot tub and plenty of hot water. Pet friendly and plenty of room for dogs to run. A couple of drawbacks to consider…the AC generally works well, but the bathroom does get uncomfortably hot in the afternoon and early evening. Additionally, the wifi wasn’t the strongest. Finally, it is very much an old barn and not all the doors and windows seal well, so you may get a couple of 6 or 8-legged visitors during your stay. Par for the course in rural Louisiana, but good for anyone squeamish to be aware of. Overall a great spot and would stay again.

Rachel and Reed are amazing hosts! Their home is absolutely beautiful, spacious, and clean! Anytime we had a question or concern they reaponded immediately. Hands down the absolute best experience at an Air B&B we have ever been to. They had board games, cards, and cornhole. The location is right by the state park, you can watch the boats go by in the bay off the beautiful back porch that is screened in. They have everything you need to cook, even big pots! We had our 13 and 14 year old and they had so much to do and enjoy, we didnt hear "I'm bored" at all! We cannot wait to book another trip here! Thank you again Rachel, Reed and Staff!
