Nature experience near Tulum

NaomiRating, 5 stars5 months ago
I truly hope to come back to this place, it was so cool. Beds are comfortable and the place is truly unique. I was worried the jungle sounds would be too loud to sleep but it was great. Pool was amazing. Some tips: Ask for detailed instructions for check in prior to arrival, (show pictures of the house as staff may take you to the wrong one) take screenshots of wifi login info so you can reach the outside world once you arrive to the house (as we had no cell reception, and I had trouble with the lock as it was a new type to me), if the lock is new to you, ask someone to show you how to both lock and unlock the door, bring food and everything you need as it really is out there, be prepared to ask for help in Spanish from onsite staff. We didn’t have trouble with any critters in our rooms or shoes but be careful opening the kitchen drawers as some like to hide in there. Finally, the natural environment is amazing, don’t miss the star gazing on the rooftop!

The Yellow House

VictoriaRating, 5 stars1 day ago
I had a truly wonderful stay and an authentic experience! Nicolas is the best host you can imagine-super helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable about the area. The house is spacious and surrounded by nature. His dog Luna and cat Tapete are sweet and calm—they mind their own business but are happy to say hi. I always felt safe and at ease in both the house and area. The terrace is larger than it looks in the photos—great for yoga or workouts. The mornings are filled with bird sounds. The village is small but charming, and I was lucky to catch some local festivities during my stay. The locals were very friendly and patient, even though I don’t speak Spanish. There are frequent colectivos to Tulum and stops along the way to cenotes, and also buses to Coba ruins. Taxis are easy to get, too. The village has shops for groceries, a pharmacy, laundry service, artisan stores, and even a shop with some EU products. I wish I could have stayed longer and hope to return someday! Thank you Nicolas!
