Lovely character cottage with plenty of space , quiet location, loads of parking nearby. Just the job for the start of a Cornish adventure

We had a fantastic couple of days at Rachel's Shepard's hut. Rachel was friendly and welcoming, she changed our duvet for a lightweight one, had lots of great recommendations and added some great touches to the hut that made our stay excellent. The hut is well situated in a peaceful dead end road but just a 15 min walk from Penzance town centre. During our stay we visited the Jubilee Pool geothermal pool (amazing and relaxing), hired beryl bikes and cycled to st Michael's Mount and enjoyed wondering around the lovely independent shops and pubs. We will definitely stay again. Rachel is an excellent host

This place is an absolute gem and you will love it! It's a bit hidden away, so make sure to read Sarah's arrival instructions well. Once you're there, you'll fall in love with the little barn at Higher Gear immediately! Everything is lovingly prepared, incl. all these small, thoughtful details that you wouldn't expect but are delighted to receive. The room is spacious, the bathroom well equipped and it's all clean and welcoming. Couldn't recommend it more highly!

Very nicely and beautifully refurbished cottage in Cornwall, well equipped and with a very helpful and responsive host, Anna. We liked the recommendations for things to do, which were let in the cottage and we were wonderfully surprised by a "welcome package" including scones, jam and clotted cream, :-))) Important to know: Due to the rural location the internet is weak. We could not use the internet to transfer files to Germany. Location of the cottage is very quiet (3-4 km to go to Penzance, next larger village). We would recommend the cottage for people who loves quiet holidays in Cornwall.
