Cozy and quiet place to stay. May be better for small families as the only bathroom is through the main bedroom but we made it work alright. Otherwise, great communication and a great place to stay!

For people interested in experiencing what it is like to live in Alaska - this is the place to head to. Dry cabins off grid are still very common - and they offer a real sense of how well one can live without all of the modern amenities we have come to view as "essential". For a truly peaceful and lovely Alaskan retreat that is just about a 20 minute drive from Anchorage - this is the place to stay. The gardens and surrounding mountains with the nearby Bird Creek provides a wonderful setting. Joan is a wonderful host - especially if you are curious and interested in the various ways people live and thrive in Alaska.

Ben's place is awesome, perfect if one is visiting Portage or Seward, small cabin in the woods with lots of beautiful birds and kenai lake nearby. Ben is also very helpful incase one need something and friendly to talk too. Highly recommended if one is visiting Seward

Great central location for visiting Hope. We enjoyed the secluded feeling and Chris was a great host! We look forward to our next visit!
