House near Beach, North Shore, Oahu

MichaelRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Mikes place was great! The space was very clean, very well thought out, and traveler friendly! Located in a small rural neighborhood so you get a true experience of North Shore Hawaii. The landscape on his property was also very well thought out, well kept, and enjoyable. Location is convenient to many places on the North Shore and a beautiful drive to the South side of the island. Mike was very responsive prior to arrival, during our stay, and on one issue we had while there. The issue was out of his control but he resolved it as quickly as he could. Compared to our stay at Turtle Bay Resort last year, at the same time, this would be my first choice. The value here is much better than the resort. 100% recommend and hope to visit again! The appliances, beds, bathrooms, furniture, dishes, showers, fans etc were all very good quality. This makes a big difference in a week long stay. Mike didnt go the cheap route for this place!

Nicely redone condo right on the beach with a peek-a-boo ocean view. Far from the hustle of Honolulu.

If we could we would rent it again! Especially because the neighborhood is where my family grew up. Don is an awesome host, and has such a cozy area. 100% recommend!

Beachfront Bungalow: Parking/AC/Wifi/Laundry

Wonderful place to stay if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. Located between Honolulu and the North Shore you’re central. Close to the cultural center and lots of outdoor activities if that’s your jam. The house is tiny and cute. The drawbacks - A larger family would struggle here. Perfect for a couple or small family, more than 1-2 kids would be rough. The beach washes out from the stream, no big deal, but it’s inconsistent. We mainly drove to beaches looking for good surf so it wasn’t a big deal for us. When we arrived we needed to do a deep clean on the house and especially the bathroom. We may also just be a little extra picky. If you’re looking for a resort style stay, go to Waikiki. If you’re looking for a budget friendly and cozy retreat, call Chandler, this place is what you’re looking for. P.S. Go to The Crouching Lion for dinner at least once, you won’t be disappointed.
