Sophie's cabin is tucked away in the forest of the gated Riverbend Community. It is a quiet retreat ideally suited for a couple looking to unplug and be in nature. It's both spacious and cozy with a private bedroom, full bathroom, full kitchen, and a comfortable living room. There is a large private deck behind the cabin with a dining set, gas grill, and 2 lounge chairs. A large Ingles grocery is nearby, along with several restaurants. Chimney Rock is closed due to damage from Hurricane Helene.

Our sweet retreat

Our Sweet Retreat sits down hill from the main road. With a private paved parking area. The house sits approximately 12 steps below parking area with large wrap around porch. The main living area is open with vaulted ceiling. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and a full bath . Upstairs is a small loft and master suite with full bath, fireplace & private deck overlooking the lake. There is a large stone fireplace on the North end of the cabin and a covered deck on the lakeside.

I’ll just say it, I’m thankful for Jon. We did a late check in, because I had to work, which meant we didn’t get in until 12 am. It was dark. I pulled into what I thought was our home for the next few days, tried our code but couldn’t get in, called Jon and this man answered so politely out of his sleep, to help me realize that I was at the wrong home😬😬 Once, we got us to the correct place though, everything was smooth sailing from there..except for all of our craziness. The lake was gorgeous, I fell in love with the kitchen, and the beds were amazing. It was all so cozy and homey. I can’t thank Jon enough for dealing with my craziness around midnight that night.

We had a great time. The views are beautiful and the house is spacious with a great layout for a large group. The house has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished with a fun lake theme. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The kids had a wonderful time at the private lake! They paddled around the lake in their floats and played on the sandy shady beach. It was a bit warm to try out the hot tub and the fire table on the porch but we hope to come back in the spring or fall to take advantage of all the amenities this house has to offer.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this cabin! The pictures don’t do it justice....this place is even more beautiful in person. The views were breathtaking, and honestly, we were just as happy spending our time at the cabin as we were going out to explore. It truly felt like something out of a painting. The cabin itself was small but just right for me, my fiancé, and our dog. It was cozy, comfortable, and everything we needed. Jacqueline was an incredible host. Unlike other places I’ve stayed, she didn’t rush us or bombard us with checkout reminders. She reached out on the morning of checkout with clear instructions, which made the process feel calm and stress-free. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and I already miss it. I can't wait to come back for another peaceful retreat!

April & Derek’s condo was beautiful and included all the necessities and more that we enjoyed while staying there - from washer pods, dryer sheets, extra paper towels, trash bags, coffee pods & seasonings. The one and only down side was the lake was inaccessible and drained on the side we were facing because of the restoration work due to hurricane devastation. We were able to take the kids to the indoor pool, we played mini golf and corn hole and they also had an Easter egg hunt & visit from the Easter Bunny on Saturday. We would love to return when the lake has been restored because it’s a very nice resort only two hours away from us. Oh and the views driving around the towns are amazing.
