“Had a fabulous time at this gorgeous apartment. Could sit, relax and watch the sea all day long. Hosts were amazing, highly recommend the apartment. Will definitely be back.”
Monamhor is located in the village of Lamlash, which is a 10 minute drive from Brodick Ferry Terminal. It’s a modern semi detached cottage with spectacular views towards the hills and to the sea. Within walking distance to the coop, shops, bars and restaurants. Also the pier where you catch the boat over to Holy Isle and the 18 hole golf course are all nearby too. The forestry which is great for walks is a 10 minute walk or 2 minute car drive away. Situated near to the main bus route also.
“We enjoyed our week staying here - it is a really central location for exploring all of Arran. The house was clean and provided lots of space. The kitchen/dining room is very well equipped with a range cooker and all that we needed. The living room was lovely, with access to the terrace area and garden and views over to the mountains. We found the bedrooms comfortable, with plenty of drawers and hanging space. The bathroom with a separate shower as well as a bath was good. Lamlash village is a fifteen minute gentle walk. We like the Glen Isle hotel for food, and the Co-op supermarket has a good range.”
No 1 Shedock Cottage has been completely renovated inside and out, originally a shepherds cottage it is now a very modern living space. The entrance leads into the living room with a kitchen extension to the rear this follows onto a private sitting area outside at the back of the cottage. The bedroom has a double bed with fitted wardrobe. There is a bath and shower in the bathroom next to the bedroom. Heating throughout the cottage is electric with flame effect fire in the living room.
“We had a wonderful stay in Jan's lovely cosy cottage. It is newly refurbished and spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The weather was very bad on the day we planned to arrive, most ferries had been cancelled. Jan was so helpful in assisting us with finding an alternative ferry and ensuring that we made it across to Arran. She was in constant communication with us from the moment the cancellations were announced and very quick to respond. We could not fault her communication or hospitality. Thank you Jan! The cottage is in a great central location with amenities close by in Blackwaterfoot. We particularly enjoyed the coastal walk to the Kings cave (from Blackwaterfoot) and a longer coastal walk from Lochranza where we watched 2 otters for over 1 hour, saw golden eagles, red squirrels and lots of very tame red deer. It was amazing. We would also recommend a trip to the Machrie stone circles (also very close to the cottage).”
