Farmstay holiday rentals in Iowa

The house was so homey. Wood flooring through out the home. Beautiful wood stair case to the upstairs. The front porch was very inviting. Loved the porch swing. Reminded me of my childhood. Both bathrooms are very spacious. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. The acreage is very spacious, enough area for children to play in safely with no worries. This is an old farm house, don’t let that fool you. This is a well maintained home and will take you back in time. I would love to stay again if I’m back in the area.

Most idealic place we stayed during our road trip. The couch in the back to watch the sunset is fantastic. Genuinely a unique experience. Would stay again if we are in the area

This place is a beautiful little getaway. Right up the road from the river, it is peaceful and quiet. Lots of fun architecture to see in town and the river walk is lovely. Our dogs were welcomed which made the trip 10x more enjoyable. The house is cozy, warm and feels very much like home. Sue has an entry table in the home with suggestions for local activities, eateries, shopping which was nice to refer to. Overall we were happy with the space. It was nice to know that Sue was in the house next door for questions, but she very much provided privacy unlike some places I’ve stayed. I highly recommend!

We loved the peaceful atmosphere and the animals! The area was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and enjoying the sunny spring days :)

My wife, two kids under two, and myself had an absolute blast staying at Jim’s caboose Airbnb. It is located on a beautiful property with some fun animals that my toddler absolutely adored. Jim was a great host and very kind to my family. Thank you for hosting us and for making our time to Decorah, Iowa special.

Such a unique spot! We loved the fun vintage decor, the plethora of coffee options, and hanging out with the chickens on the porch. The location was peaceful and remote, but it was a very short drive to downtown Ames.

Our group had a wonderful time. The barn loft accommodations were cozy & everything was well thought out for guests staying. We had wonderful weather & spend the entire day at the swimming pond. It was great for our girls trip & I can say my kids would have loved it as well.

This place is something else. We came 4 families with children and so much fun. There is everything for children and teenagers to have fun. I definitely recommend this cozy house for a short family vacation .

June Anne's place was absolutely beautifully! It was exactly as described, extremely clean and wonderfully decorated. It was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting family in the area. June Anne thought of everything. I would definitely stay here again!

We returned this year to celebrate our anniversary and were once again struck by the same sense of peace and relaxation that made our first visit so memorable. The setting continues to be a perfect place to unwind, recharge, and enjoy the natural beauty of the the driftless area of Iowa. Whether you're passing through or looking for a destination to slow down and escape the day-to-day, this location is absolutely worth the stay. We spent the day on Saturday renting bikes and enjoying Decora with a great dinner at Rubiyat and a stop at Pulpit Rock Brewery afterwards. We would wholeheartedly recommend both the property and the host to anyone seeking a welcoming, comfortable, and serene retreat.

What a beautiful place! Exceeded all expectations! Every detail was taken care of down to all bathrooms fully stocked in case you forgot or needed something. I can’t say enough great things about this property. Everything was high end and beautiful! I hope to be able to stay here again! It was perfect!

This cabin at Sunset Hills Bison Ranch was everything we could ever ask for! The cabin was well kept and we felt right at home. Our family loved walking around and seeing the bison. Also, we loved that our dog was able to go with us! He loved it too! Definitely recommend and would love to visit again!

We have stayed in many airbnbs, in many countries, and many states. This may jave been our favorite. The property was perfect, secluded, and so relaxing. Just loved this place!

Had a great stay! Cabin was quaint and relaxing. Loved the fire pit and pre stocked firewood was a nice touch! Couldn’t get WiFi to work (had to plug in router and no password anywhere I could find) and didn’t have cell service out there so couldn’t message host about it until after 10pm when I went back into town and they weren’t able to respond. Loved everything else about the place and will definitely be back!

This was a beautiful little get away. It was so nice to be unplugged from the world and just rest in this restful spot. The hammocks in the trees were peaceful as you heard the birds chirp and watch them fly around. The lighting at night was beautiful perfect for walking the area and getting to the conservatory. Would recommend to friends for a weekend getaway. And will be back in the fall when the leaves are changing colors! Hosts were friendly and gave perfect recommendations for us to eat at as well as visit. Will be back!

Robert was very kind. we hosted a wedding here and were stressed about the venue and he helped ease our anxiety. it’s a beautiful place with lots of bedrooms. it was so peaceful there. i recommend this place if you need a peaceful get away!

This is a beautiful home with all amenities as described. It’s a bit of a walk into town but otherwise fine. Love the fact Alexa everywhere which was useful for music and timings. We have 2 grown up kids, so 4 adults and 1 bathroom was a stretch at times. Mellisa answered my queries almost instantly. Thoroughly recommend a stay here !!

Beautiful house, very easy to find and Jamie did a wonderful job of answering any questions we had. Bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept on and we travel at least a week a month, often times more. Would love to go back!
