Holiday rentals with lake access in Iceland

I was a little nervous when we first pulled up, as the outside looked a little worn. I was quite surprised when I walked inside. It had clearly been remodeled and had the cutest decor. The home was very cozy and inviting. It also smelled lovely. The fold out sofa was extra cozy and my kids enjoyed sleeping on it. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and only wish we could have stayed longer.

Ein Traum! Dieses kleine wunderschöne Café-Haus zu bewohnen war etwas ganz besonderes. Vom gemütlichen offenen Wohn-Essbereich hat man Blick auf das Wasser, in der Bucht sieht man (mit Fernglas) Wale und abends kam ein Seehund vorbeigeschwommen, dem wir einfach so zugucken konnten. Auch aus den oberen Zimmern hat man einen traumhaften Blick auf das Wasser. Im Haus ist alles und noch viel mehr, was man braucht, sogar ein Fernglas steht bereit, Fahrräder, Angeln, ein Schachbrett und viel mehr- Dinge, die wir gar nicht erwartet hatten. Auch hat dieses Haus eine Terrasse, das ist eher unüblich in der Gegend, man will gar nicht mehr das Haus verlassen, weil alles da ist. 2 Toiletten vorhanden, praktisch.Ein größerer Supermarkt in 5 Minuten Entfernung zu Fuß, ein kleiner Hafen mit einem tollen Familienunternehmen für Walbeobachtung (Achtung: nur online Anmeldungen möglich), ein kleines Café-Restaurant und die absolute Ruhe. Die Straße vor der Tür stört nicht. Auch bei Sturm super gemütlich.

A lovely, peaceful place right on the Golden Circle tucked between a serene lake and a few friendly horses. The setting was absolutely beautiful and felt like a true escape.

This place is great! Very cozy and close to the golden circle and Selfoss, which has great restaurants! We especially enjoyed the cozy vibe of the interior furniture and kitchen. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and cold plunge combo. Magnús was really responsive when we had questions, and even got on the phone to walk us through how to fill the hot tub and turn off the lights so we could better view the aurora!

Very clean. 4 separate bedrooms with 2 bathrooms (one has a shower and the other has a big comfortable bathtub) make this place very comfortable for multiple people. Area is very quiet and great restaurants are in walking distance. Close by grocery store is very convenient. Private parking off street. This place is a gem. Would definitely stay here again.

Wir hatten zu viert einen schönen Aufenthalt in Kristinns hübschem Haus. Super war der HotPot hinter dem Haus mit Blick in die schneebedeckten Bergey Die Kommunikation mit Kristinn verlief problemlos. Nur die Navigation mit den Koordinaten hat nicht so geklappt. Nach einem Telefonat war das Problem schnell gelöst.

An absolutely stunning lake side villa close to the famous Golden Circle. We used it as our base for a week to explore Iceland with friends. We were two families, with three children in total. The villa is simply stunning, so beautiful and the perfect home away from home. We all loved returning back in the evenings and enjoying the sauna and hot tub. Then the grown ups sat up late to take in the never ending sun outside, snuggled with blankets and fire pit for company. We lost track how many photos we all took of the lake. We also enjoyed our coffee in the morning over looking the lake and running the loop around the lake. Communication was excellent and Telma couldn't have been more responsive or helpful. We 100% recommend and will be back!

Cozy apartment close to the sea. Clean and well equipped. Very easy communication. Would recommend!

We loved our time here. The apartment is scrupulously clean and very charming. The owners are kind and responsive. We arrived in the spring to many new born lambs. We also fell in love with their dog. Highly recommend!

Pour notre première nuit en Islande, nous avons apprécié le calme de l'appartement d'Helena. Il est agréablement spacieux et très très propre. Vraiment proche de l'aéroport, c'est un plaisir de s'y poser après une journée à voyager. Keflavik est une mignonne petite ville pour se balader. De la chambre, la vue sur la mer est apaisante. Notre petit garçon a vraiment apprécié les jouets à disposition et le petit lit installé pour lui. Merci beaucoup ✨

Spędziliśmy tydzień w apartamencie wynajmowanym przez Dagnę i był to wspaniały czas. Apartament jest świetnie zlokalizowany na wzgórzu z panoramicznym widokiem na miasto aż po ocean. Któregoś wieczora za oknem pojawiła się zorza polarna. Raczej dla osób dysponujących samochodem. Mieszkanie jest wygodne, można poczuć się jak u siebie w domu. Są wszystkie potrzebne udogodnienia. Dagny jest bardzo komunikatywnym gospodarzem. Szybko odpowiada na wiadomości i jest pomocna.

Fantastisk opphold, og leiligheten var enda finere enn på bildene. Lett å komme seg til fra flyplassen, lett å komme seg til Reykjavik, lett å komme seg rundt til andre nydelige steder. Superhyggelig vert som alltid svarte raskt ☺️ Ingenting å klage på, så dette anbefales!

Wir haben eine Nacht während unserer Island Rundreise in dieser wirklich wunderschönen Unterkunft verbracht. Die Unterkunft war insgesamt sehr sauber, geräumig und die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Wohnung war wunderschön gestaltet und gemütlich, wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Beautiful place by the lake Mývatn. As a bird lover, I appreciate so much having the lake so close. Beautiful atmosphere, typical icelandic farm. Love the sheeps. The house is beautiful, with everything you need.

We loved the Stella Rose Apartment. The hosts thought of everything a traveler might need. We had the pleasure of meeting our hosts on one occasion, but the accommodations were also private. Lovely decor, scenic views, and awesome and spotless kitchen. Wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Gudny's place was amazing and the photos didn't do it justice. My family of 5 were very comfortable. We loved the updated bathroom and use of the hot tub.

If I could give more than 5*, I would! This was a wonderful, beautiful spot. The home is beautifully designed with so many gorgeous touches. The beds were very comfortable (with excellent black out curtains). There is a private beach which felt other worldly with black sand dunes. It is a bit of a drive to anywhere but if you like being remote, then it’s ideal. We felt so at home and would love to return.

It is a realy nice and lovely decorated cottage in the middel of the forest. We felt right at home. If you like to be a little bit upside of all and have your peace it's the perfekt place. Thanks a lot.

This is the perfect location if you want to feel remote and close to nature but conveniently close to the city and main roads. The house is bright and open with great views from the main living area (watching the sunsets through those big windows is a real treat). Arngunner's instructions made finding the property and getting settled in very easy.

My husband and I wanted to get away from the city and out in the country. This was the perfect place for us. The scenery around the cabin is breathtaking. We enjoyed the hottub and we're also able to view the Northern Lights on a few nights. The amenities inside were perfect and just what we needed. I was a little apprehensive about the shower being outside in a separate building, at first, but the water was hot and the pressure was excellent. Our stay was perfect and the communication with Vidar was top notch. Such a beautiful place.

Amazing and beautiful rental for our first time in Iceland! Helga is very communicative and very responsive. We had a lovely time and will definitely return in the future.

My family had a wonderful stay here whilst visiting the Golden Circle area. There are amazing views in all directions with only the sound of birds and an occasional sheep. The outdoor furniture and hot tub are wonderful for making the most of the surroundings. The house is beautiful inside and out, with super comfy sofas and a large dining table, and we appreciated the high quality linens and towels. A small supermarket and good pizza restaurant about 8 minutes drive.
