Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Iceland

The renovated water tower is a lovely and clean home. There are large sliding doors on each floor that open up to give access to the outdoors or cool off the home. The main bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor and comes with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is also a hair dryer and many towels available. The bathroom on the second level was small and could be accessed through the main bedroom. The kitchen was bright and open. There was plenty of seating for the 4 of us, although the bench seat by the kitchen table could be thoroughly washed. Plenty of dishes and kitchen essentials. Washer and drying rack were a pleasant addition to the home and made traveling light easier. The rooms were cozy and the beds are comfortable. The stairs are steep but easy to navigate for our children (ages 7 and 9). The views from inside and from the deck are beautiful. The two birds nesting outside are quite friendly. Earlier guests named them Chuck and Larry.

Absolutely amazing spot & even better hosts. My husband and I came to Iceland for a vow renewal after having to change our wedding plans due to COVID 5 years ago (we originally planned an elopement in Iceland), and Anthony went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time, and we did! Overall, this was an absolutely outstanding stay. Every single thing we needed was managed quickly & Anthony went beyond anything we could have asked to take care of us. Plus, the airbnb itself was so charming. Definitely recommend if looking for a quaint port town close the Reykjavik! I wouldn’t come here for a more isolated experience or to get away from the hustle of Reykjavik, but I think the port town was a great alternative to staying in Reykjavik itself.

We had a fantastic stay - the house is really unique and a special place to stay. Great views and interesting decor. The harbour is right out the front and there are lots of places to eat nearby. We were travelling with kids and they also loved the place. We had left one of the kids tablets behind and the hosts went above and beyond to reunite us with the tablet in Reykjavik, in time for the flight home. Definitely recommend!

we really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is setup very well and very comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the south west of Iceland.

What an amazing place. The cottage is located in a beautigful fjord with an uncredibld view towards the sea and mountains partly covered in snow. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Highly recommend staying in this beautiful cottage as it is a great spot to chill, relax and have a great time with family and friends. We will be back. Thank you so much guys! Everything about our stay was perfect. The house is well stocked and met all our needs. We felt very well cared for, and couldn’t have loved more the sunsets and lambs playing. We hope to return someday, as it was a magnificent retreat.

We had an amazing stay here! The host provided clear check in instructions and check out was very easy. The cabin was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. It was lovely to watch the sunset from the decks and an extra plus with the property cat coming to visit us! Highly recommend

Great location in Reykjavik. Walkable to most attractions near central Reykjavik. Parking garage around corner but is closed from Midnight to 7am. Only had an issue with those times once. They pull down steel doors so you can’t enter or exit. You could hear the neighbors but they offered ear plugs for you to pick u on 4th floor. Also had bags of ice for your use ( this was a great luxury in Iceland)! We also used the guest washer and dryer (nice perk). Would stay again!

We couldn’t have dreamt of a better location for a trip to Iceland. Anna was superb in the least up and gave som many helpful suggestions. She was an impeccable host. So kind. Friendly and helpful. Thank you both for an idyllic stay.

It was easy to arrive at the stay. The apartment was beautiful and clean. The drying washing machine was the highlight of the accommodation. A safe and peaceful atmosphere throughout our trip.

From the airport 10 minutes by car, the flat is ideal for the first accommodation in the evening, yet quiet. We had everything we needed there and it was just 300 metres on foot to a small, well-stocked supermarket

Home in Reykjavík was perfect - great location with parking , great kitchen, bathroom, and super comfortable bed - I loved it. Prior to arrival Thordis sent me a number of messages which included details on the apartment and its use, and information about sites of interest in the Reykjavik environs. This was my second time staying, and I will continue to return whenever I go to Iceland. This place is great . . . super clean, awesome bathroom (including washer and dryer, which really come in handy for refreshing our clothing supply on trips), comfortable beds, and a nice, small kitchen area. The location is perfect as a base for exploring the Snæfellsnes Península, and Ólafsvík is a great stop in and of itself, with a beautiful waterfall overlooking the town, which you can hike to the top of . . . a highlight of our trip. Small, grocery store nearby, as well as a restaurant and small diner at the gas station down the street. Thanks to Kristin for providing this little gem of a place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely little house on the hill. The views were beautiful, and the home was thoughtfully laid out and very comfortable. The host was friendly, helpful, and made communication easy throughout our stay. Highly recommend for a peaceful and relaxing getaway!

This place was awesome to stay in. Private location not far from the main road and many of southern Iceland's attractions. Would definitely stay again.

Baldur’s place was the perfect spot for spending a few days in south Iceland. It was a short drive to see the Puffins at the Ingólfshöfði nature preserve and we hiked to a glacier and some waterfalls at the national park just 10 minutes away. We had lamb burgers at the convenience store about 5 minutes down the road and they were reasonably priced and delicious! Baldur made us feel right at home and even gave me some bread to feed his horses. The only negative thing about the apartment was not enough comfortable seating for two people to relax in the evening. But the bench out front was a nice place to take in the beauty of the surroundings there until it got too chilly.

Great place for a sleep near the airport. We arrived at 2 am and there was no issue. Easy check-in instructions. We appreciated the coffee supplies! They do have an impressive dvd collection and we were going to try it but the blue ray player wasn’t hooked up. No problem though they had excellent wifi and Apple TV. Pleasant easy place to rest our heads. Also appreciated how they had guide books and info on Iceland. We would have loved to try the nearby pool but didn’t have the chance.

The Airbnb was easily accessible and well equipped with washing machine, dryer and fully equipped kitchen. There was also a designated parking spot for your vehicle. Magnus was responsive and extremely helpful in answering any queries. Would recommend this place

Great little place if you want to experience to south coast of Iceland. It has absolute everything you need and is located in a beautiful area. We loved our stay and would come back. :)

Beautiful apartment at a new development, easily reachable by car. We found everything we needed here as a couple visiting Iceland for the first time. The place is very clean and modern, and is a cosy and comfortable base while exploring the stunning country.

WOW! what an amazing place to stay!!!! I have endless things to say about our experience here. the views and surroundings were immaculate. so peaceful and such a wonderful way to wake up in the mornings. everything was so clean and the rooms / beds were so comfortable. the bonus was the little spa area, the facilities were so clean and amazing. plenty of room to change, bathroom, showers, sauna. and the outdoor waterfall hot tubs were perfect temperature while it was cold outside. I would 100% stay here again!

If Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons ever designed, furnished and located an apartment, then this is it. Great for family, market place next door should you need it, fantastic (top end) restaurants all around, coffee shops…and everything in short walking distance. It was so well kept and clean, felt like a high end resort. Really cool place and host who clearly cared about his guests’ experience. Reachable, proactive when needed, yet respectful of privacy. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, or any other of his locations, he truly is a class act super host. Highly recommended.
