Holiday rentals with lake access in Hickory

This lake house was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a true escape. The house had everything we needed for a perfect family getaway—cozy, clean, and so thoughtfully stocked. But what really stole our hearts was the view. Watching the sun set over the water each evening, wrapped in a blanket with nothing but the sound of the lake and laughter in the background, was pure magic. We made beautiful memories here and can’t wait to come back. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us. Highly recommended, we will be back! We also used Lake Effects for our boat rental, they were fantastic! It’s about an 18 minute trip back to the house on the water.

This property was perfect for our family gathering. Lots of spaces to gather and the kitchen was well stocked. It was so nice to have the water toys and dock. We rented a pontoon from Patrick (a local person recommended in the property binder) who delivered it to the dock and then came back and picked it up. We enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated the wood that was available. Can’t wait to plan to stay here again next year!

Overall, it was a good stay. The location is great, the view is amazing, and the back porch is as good as the pictures show. There was an issue with the wifi, that eventually the owner of the property management company came out himself to fix, it took a little bit, but was sorted out. I expect things to pop up, so I think having an owner/management company that responds as well as this group does, really makes a difference. The communication from start to finish was great. The living space is one living room and the kitchen, so just keep in mind for larger families. It worked fine for us, as the space opened up to the porch. It is a very nice dock, we fished a good bit from there and had a boat pick us up for the day. We would consider staying again. It is not the largest house, but the location on the lake is great, it is not in a channel, it is at the mouth of one facing the large portion of the lake.

Absolutely beautiful home! The views from the porch are just amazing. The house was spotless and kitchen was very well equipped. Perfect home for a family vacation. Nice modern furniture and bed linens were good quality and comfy. Jessica was very helpful with any issues we had and quick to respond. Would highly recommend!!

Such a great house! We loved it. The place was extremely clean upon arrival. It was well stocked with everything we needed for the weekend and not at all cluttered. Great location. We hiked Grandfather mountain, Shortoff mountain, and Hawksbill. All great hikes and easy to get to. We also spent an afternoon kayaking on Lake James. It was very peaceful with large, calm coves. Great place to stay and I hope to be back.

Serenity Summit is a mountain gem! The 4 bedrooms are spaced out across the house and there are three living spaces to relax in. Open kitchen with everything we needed. Hosts were so kind and responsive to our questions and needs. There was plenty of parking space for our family coming together for our daughter’s wedding. The home is located in a gorgeous gated community with incredible views of the mountains. But…..If your husband’s dress shirt, as Father of the Bride, wasn’t packed and you realize the night before at 9:40pm…..FYI the closest Walmart is 37 minutes away and thankfully doesn’t close until 11:00. We definitely plan to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the incredible outdoor living areas at the house and the lake in the neighborhood. Thank you for your hospitality Victoria!

Staying at this beautiful house on Lake Norman in Denver, NC, was nothing short of perfection. From the moment I booked the property to the day I checked out, the entire experience was seamless and enjoyable. The house itself was so stunning and well-maintained that it’s honestly difficult to put into words just how wonderful it was. Every corner of the property exuded comfort and care, making it a true retreat. The host deserves a special mention for their responsiveness; any question or concern I had was addressed promptly and thoroughly. Their clear communication and attentiveness made the entire process feel effortless, which is always a bonus when planning a getaway. The kayak was fun and relaxing. My wife had never been and she doesn't speak English. It turns out I don't speak Spanish when kayaks are about to tip over and I need to say "No te apoyes." Only downside: no nearby places to take an evening walk or grab some ice cream or souvenirs.

We had a wonderful time at Jennifer’s home. Her parents, Ed and Kay welcomed us and made us feel right at home. They provided wine and delicious snacks for us and also gave us passes to Rumbling Bald. The place is right on the lake and absolutely beautiful. The inside is much more beautiful than in the pictures, as it is tastefully decorated and good quality linens and towels were provided. They had every thing available that we could need, expensive toiletries and plenty of floats and kayaks. I can’t say i’ve ever stayed at an air bnb that was so thoughtfully appointed before. We will definitely be back.

Wow, what a location right by the lake! We absolutely loved this accommodation. its tastefully decorated, calm, peaceful and private. the living space is sociable and the front porch allows you to enjoy the view of the lake, the birds and just the wonderful peaceful atmosphere. there are kyaks and paddle boards and a beautiful dining area on the jetty. Comfortable beds, pretty linen, great bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen make it feel top end. Clearly this place is loved by the owner and we recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil stay. we came to Charlotte for the Speedway but we're so happy we got out of town to explore the countryside and enjoy Lake Norman. Downtown Moorseville is about 20 mins away and was a lovely place for a bit if shopping and some nice coffee ☕️ Thank you Patricia. we highly recommend your beautiful place at Tranquility Cove x

Sherry was an amazing host and the Lake Life Retreat was even better than what the pictures showed. This is the perfect location for a nice relaxing getaway. Added bonus was having 2 amazingly friendly dogs on site in Luna and Sandy 😁 We would definitely stay here again!

Rick and Judy's place is an amazing find! They thought of everything you might need and is such a great location. They are very friendly and all the lake amenities are top notch! We plan to stay here again next year!

I generally forget to leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share our experience here. We fortunately left the sub-par hotel we had just checked in, and found this spot. It exceeded our expectations. The apartment smelled fresh, looked new and had lots of space. The owner was very prompt answering a question and filling a need. The icing on the cake was sipping coffee by the lake on the morning of our departure. You will have fond memories staying here.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The unit had anything you could possibly need. Was great not having to run to the store to get this or that as they already had everything available. Very clean!

Had an amazing stay at the cottage. Plenty of outdoor activities to take part in, including easy access to the lake! Earl was a great host. He was friendly and responsive, and proactive in his communication. Would recommend to anybody looking to stay at Lake Norman!

After Hurricane Helen damaged my home, my insurance placed me in Ron’s property and it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve had. The home is immaculate, beautifully designed, and fully stocked with everything from cleaning supplies to spices. It truly felt like home. Ron is incredibly kind, responsive, and attentive. He replaced a driveway light and changed the BBQ gas the same day I mentioned them. The house is pet-friendly, which was a huge plus for my daughters, our dog, and our cat. The hot tub, pool table, dart board, and lakefront setting made every day peaceful and fun. It’s rare to find a place this clean, cozy, and well cared for, with hosts who genuinely go above and beyond. We’re so grateful for the comfort and joy this stay brought us during a difficult time. This is a hidden gem I’d recommend to anyone without hesitation. Thank you, Ron, for everything!

We loved our time at the lake! We saw a variety of wildlife in the yard - deer, turkey, fox, and groundhogs. On top of the geese, variety of fish, and turtles in the lake. I appreciated the easy access to Marion (just 20 minutes away) while feeling a world away. The home is tucked into a quiet cove. It was also an easy drive to Linville Gorge. The house had plenty of space for a family of 4 with two teenagers who liked having their own rooms. We brought our dog, and the space is very dog friendly. We’re already talking about coming back.

The only thing better than the accommodations is the hosts! Absolutely wonderful people. Love the area as well

The Cottage at Lake Lure provided unmatched views and a relaxed and peaceful retreat. Outdoor spaces are beautiful but unfortunately the boat house that was present at the time of booking had been taken down by the time of our stay, reducing the ability to be on the lake. Access to paddleboards and kayaks a plus and the ability to rent a pontoon was a wonderful bonus. Wifi access was spotty and phone service challenging - this provided some challenges to individuals who planned to work a remote day from the booking. Overall a great stay with fire pit, grill, time on the water, and gorgeous scenery.

Stayed here this past weekend and it was amazing. Beautiful house, very clean and cozy. Outside was private with a privacy fence on one side and shrubs on the other. It was quiet at night and with a gated driveway it felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again.
