We absolutly loved Suzy's place. With any cabin in the woods, yes there are going to be ants. As long as your responsible with your food (don't leave it out, leave open food hanging around) you will be fine. This is not the place to go if you don't like bug or bees. for a Cabin in the woods, it was perfect! The lake front was BEAUTIFUL. Our last night there, there was a thunderstorm with heavy rain. add the open windows and it was bliss! definitely considering making this a yearly trip! Thank you Suzy!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Jen and Mikes place. Beautiful home with plenty of room. Beds were comfortable. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Unfortunately there was not much water behind the house this time of year, but we found a great fishing pond with a waterfall just minutes away that our dogs and granddaughter loved. There are great restaurants in the close by downtown area.

Awesome spot right on the water with a private deck and wonderful views. The house was more than accommodating. We cooked all of our meals in the ample kitchen, slept well in comfy beds, and each had our own bathrooms. The screened in porch was the best part. There were also lots of boats, floats, chairs, etc. for the lake... a definite bonus. Will definitely keep this on our list of Santeetlah houses to return to.

This home is beautifully decorated in what I would describe as sophisticated forest with a bit of whimsy. You can tell that the owners put their heart into it and enjoy staying there as well. We were impressed with all of the details and the very well equipped kitchen where everything is labeled. It was very well maintained and clean. The pond is a peaceful place to walk and enjoy spotting ducks, fish and turtles.

Great location and very peaceful. Extremely clean and well stocked. We stayed in the winter, so the lake was low, but we knew that going in. Parking and stairs down to the door can be a little trickey, especially at night. As others have said, dont bring a boat to the property but take it to a marina. There is limited ability to turn around. Would certainly stay again.

Great place, right next to the lake. It's in a rural area on a side street, so it's calm and peaceful. House was great for our group of 7. Lake access was good with the dock and kayaks. It's within an hour of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but we ended up staying at the lake more than we thought. Michele is a helpful host and lives right next door, ready to help with whatever you need.

The lake house was absolutely perfect for our family vacation! It had everything we needed to feel comfortable and truly at home. The space was cozy, well-equipped, and peaceful. Our host, Ethan, was so responsive and kind—he made everything easy and welcoming. We’d happily stay again!

This home was perfect for our family of 10 and just a short walk to the lake. The host went above and beyond with information and answering all questions in preparation for our visit. This location was very private. Really didn’t see other people. Everything was clean and looked just as the pictures showed. Very happy with our choice to stay here. Definitely recommend!

We loved the home and location. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils needed to prepare meals. The pool was set at a comfortable temperature for us to enjoy in the evenings, as well as the hot tub. Loved sitting on the decks in the morning having coffee. We had no trouble with the road or driveway to the cabin, we were driving a minivan. We found the beds to be comfortable, they are firm, but that's what we prefer and the couch is super comfy to relax and watch tv. David was very responsive to a couple questions we had. Definitely recommend this cabin for family vacations.

Matthew’s place was very nice and cozy. Definitely one of the cleanest and best stocked cabins I have ever stayed in! We had a few hiccups in our trip (mainly issues caused by weather, nothing anyone could help). However, Matthew stayed in constant communication throughout the trip and kept us up to date with information we needed regarding the weather caused outages and the such and made sure we were taken care of. I can truly tell that he goes above and beyond for his guests. I would definitely stay here again!

Second time staying here, and like the first time everything was great! Paul and Teresa are very responsive and helpful and kind. We love the house and the community, very nice people. The community house and pool was also very nice once again. Overall we were very pleased and look forward to coming again. Thank you Paul and Teresa for sharing you home with us!

There were 4 lakeview dog friendly rental choices on my list & I believe I chose the best one. The house was adorable and has a large wrap around porch with flat easy parking enough for multiple cars. The view was awesome & the trail is right in front with a nice large corner lot. Lynette was nice enough to let me check in a little early and left us a pie! I would love to come back next year when its a little cooler before the lake gets drained in December & bring my elderly mom, even she could walk this trail & would enjoy the flowers at the Rose Walk.

Our family of seven spent our Thanksgiving at Lynda's. We loved the back porch views! My kids (old and young) enjoyed the variety of board games. I brought spices to cook our Thanksgiving meal and didn't even need to. She had plenty of spices and utensils. Not a big deal to some, but to me, it's the little things like that that made me feel right at home and a huge reason to choose an Airbnb over a hotel that doesn't offer any of those things. The home was very clean and accommodating. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets, storage for unpacking and stowing away luggage for the "right at home" experience. We brought our dogs and she already had leashes hanging by the doors. The wood burning fire place offered a cozy feel. The men loved the outdoor fire pit. The only disappointment was the lake was dried up which wasn't expected according to the photos. The men brought their poles and gear and were looking forward casting out. Overall great experience and definitely recommend!

The house was nice and roomy. driveway was a little tricky. view of mountains and golf course was amazing. we had a storm on Saturday night and GODS light show was beyond incredible across the mountains viewing from the deck. Mark was a great host I would recommend the place 10 out of 10.

We had a great stay at Erin's home. The location on the lake was ideal, not far from the marina and had beautiful views at all angles of the home. The outside was serene and everywhere you looked were beautiful flowers. We loved our stay here and highly recommend.

This house has everything you need for a getaway. We stayed on the decks more than in the house. The furniture outside has been upgraded since the photos on the listing. Kitchen was spotless and had everything I need to cook for my family. I will be back. There are 125 steps to get to the water. I knew it would be a trek, so it didn’t bother me. But, just a heads up if you aren’t able to climb that many steps. All of the houses are like that.

Kimberly was a great host. She quickly responded to all communication. The dock was very nice and the channel was calm and deep. Like most homes on the lake it is built on the side of the hill which makes it a workout to walk back up to the house from the dock. I found the very twisty road going to the house entertaining. The view from the property was really beautiful. The lake is absolutely gorgeous with incredible scenery and impressive homes.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lake home on Douglas Lake! The home was well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The views were stunning, and it was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the water. We brought our boat, which was a great addition to the trip. Just a heads-up for future guests: the last 1.2 miles leading to the cabin is a narrow one-lane road, which can be challenging to navigate with a boat and trailer—especially if you’re arriving first. Also, launching your boat may require a four-wheel drive vehicle, as the ramps are quite steep. Despite those logistics, we had an amazing time and would definitely return. The peaceful setting, well-stocked home, and lake access made it a great trip!

Our stay at Breanna and Danielle's "Home in Sapphire" was nothing short of magical. Nestled in breathtaking surroundings, this gem is perfectly located on the water, offering stunning views that made every moment feel like a postcard. The home itself was incredibly clean, reflecting the hosts' attention to detail and care for their guests. Each room was wonderfully decorated, combining elegance with a cozy charm that made us feel right at home. The furniture was exceptionally comfortable, and the beds provided a restful night's sleep after our days of exploring. We truly enjoyed our time at "Home in Sapphire" and left with our hearts full and spirits lifted. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful haven again!

Had a great stay, Amanda was very helpful and welcoming. I had a longer stay and frequently used the hot tub so at a certain point it could have benefited from some product which I offered to treat. Amanda had the cleaner out the next day to treat it instead which was a very nice thing to do. I usually stay in Asheville for hiking trips and it was my first time in Waynesville, but I really liked it a lot. I don’t agree with the review that said there’s nothing to do, Waynesville was a cool city with great food and some cool breweries. I also wouldn’t worry about the driveway if you’re thinking about booking. It’s steep but in my opinion it’s being overstated. I drove up it at night, while it was raining, and both at the same time. Never any issues

The home was beautiful and well appointed. Beds were extremely comfortable. Many amenities were provided like coffee, sweetener, teas, variety of soaps. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dinnerware, cooking supplies, coffee pot and silverware. The 120 acre grounds were magical, paddle boat on lake, playground, fire pit, and hiking trails were enjoyed by all. We saw deer, groundhogs and plenty of fireflies. We will definitely return.
