Cottage holiday rentals in Dunoon

My friend and I chose this cottage for a quiet getaway with our dogs and it was just what we hoped it would be. We were welcomed by Barbara and Graeme upon arrival and they were very kind and helpful if we had any queries at all. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. The views from the bedrooms were stunning and there were plenty walks nearby the property, which were especially lovely in the evening with the sunsets. It was the perfect scenic escape we needed. Thank you Barbara and Graeme (and Rosie the golden retriever of course!).

Lakeside Cottage is beautiful, peaceful, steeped in history & easy to access once you know where it is, we drove past it 3 times lol. We were greeted with gorgeous fresh flowers in each room & a very tasty bottle of prosecco. Most Definitely will be going back at some point in the near future & can't recommend it enough as a quiet getaway - listening to the river Ayr was blissful!!

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

An absolute stunning break, our third time here. A quiet, comfortable home and a spectacular garden space for my autistic son to be himself, and my 3 Chihuahuas felt like they were in heaven. The hot tub was well used, even my elderly mum had a go. We had some lovely visits to the surrounding areas but mostly enjoyed the rest and relaxation that we all needed. We can’t wait to come back again.

Very true to the listing the cottage is charming, tastefully decorated and homely. The entire cottage is modern and new and the kitchen is spacious and very well equipped with everything you would need. Bathrooms are modern, bright and good rainfall showers. Spacious bedrooms with fresh crisp linen and towels. Hot tub is very good but agree with previous reviews that it definitely needs a few hours to reach the perfect temperature. Nice decking area off the kitchen with outdoor couches but weather was a little inclement which in turn brought out the dreaded midgies!! Huge garden which was safe for our dog to run around with easy access to the stream at bottom of the garden! The cottage is located off the beaten track and is quite remote but definitely ideal if you are after total peace and quiet. Not disappointed and would recommend!!

We had an amazing stay. The cottage was beautiful and the surrounding views were breathtaking. Marcin was an attentive host and we would definitely recommend this place!

Lovely location and David was very responsive. We had a wee problem with the hot tub and David came out to rectify it early morning when the weather was at its worst. Great hosts and take pride in their accommodation and facilities. A great break in homely accommodation with the hot tub as a lovely addition. The weather didn’t spoil our stay and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this great location.

Upper Carleton Farm is the perfect farmhouse cottage. This was our first time in Scotland and we cannot wait to come back. Leanne is an exceptional host. The home was sparkling clean, quiet and cozy. Excellent stay in a peaceful setting. The best Airbnb we have ever stayed at!

Couldn't have been happier with the cottage or the location. The cottage was clean, well presented and had everything we needed. The beds and pillows were comfortable including the sofa bed. The kitchen was well stocked. Great to be able to log into Amazon and Disney on the TV and watch like at home. Drymen was only 20 minute walk down a quiet road with plenty of amenities. Pretty too. Just a bit further to Balmaha, Loch Lomond and Finnich Glen.

Peel lodge was just a perfect stay for us. We were near to one of our daughters who was preparing for her imminent wedding. But also easy access to go exploring for our future home. The lodge was clean and tidy on our arrival . We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here and would highly recommend .

This was our second stay at Bernard's place and it was just as we remembered. It is spacious, comfortable, practical, and in a great location. Our dogs had plenty of space in the secure private garden. We have enjoyed both stays very much as we have found it a very relaxing place to stay. We can also highly recommend the meals at The Catch at Find restaurant where we have always had a first class meal. Richard & Sharon

Idyllic place in a beautiful location - short walk to the beach and the rat race event. Was super clean, shower is great, bed comfy and perfect size for myself. I lucked out in a sunny week and the lil terrace table and chair got sunlight through the day. Lorna was super responsive and quick and efficient. We’ve just spent 10 wonderful days in this gorgeous cottage overlooking Loch Fyne. The area is stunning with so much to offer we can’t wait to come back. There just wasn’t time to try out all the seafood places in the area! The cottage is really well equipped with everything you could possibly want. Amanda’s helpful information and recommendations were brilliant. She told us in advance about the unexpected building going on nearby but it was not a problem at all as we were out mainly during the day anyway. All in all it was one of the very best holidays we’ve had in Scotland - and we’ve had quite a few! And all that in spite of the car breaking down on our last day and the AA, the builders and Amanda all coming to our rescue!! Thanks for everything Amanda. We’ll be back!!

Adrian and Jenny’s place is a quiet haven. Lovely place in an old place. The village was great with two pubs nearby for food or just a drink. Their place was comfortable, clean and quiet. Just what we needed. Beautifully decorated a real home from home. Many thanks

Great base for exploring Dunoon and further afield. The cottage was clean, tidy and very well equipped.

This cottage is fantastic. Everything here has been thought of. If you were inclined you could literally prepare any main meal here. The location was perfect for us looking for a simple, peaceful base to explore Bute from. The host has placed in the cottage. plentiful maps, walks and references for things to do on the Island. Ettrick bay is a tranquil retreat with amazing scenery in every direction. It has good walks locally and an hourly bus back into Rothesay. If you wish you can walk the old Tram path back to Port Banantyne (about 90 mins). I have to say we were extremely fortunate with the weather (17-21 March) and it was wonderful at the end of the day to sit on the patio with a glass of wine staring out to sea and the Island of Arran. Simply Stunning.

Beccy and Dave were wonderful hosts. The cottage was perfect and every detail was thought of. We loved staying here and would recommend it to all.

Ive booked Julie's place a few times for colleagues coming to the area to cover shifts. Julie is very responsive, always helpful and makes everything very straight forward, would definitely recommend.

We've just returned from a fantastic week staying at An Airigh, a very cosy, warm and comfortable eco friendly house and wow...what an amazing house to stay in! The house is in a perfect, peaceful location with stunning views over Loch Fyne, and within easy reach (by car) of the Arrochar Alps for some great hikes in the mountains and hills. Everything inside the house has been well thought about from the decoration to the beds, bedding, showers, furniture and even the books and maps available to read and use. The well equipped kitchen provided everything we needed and more! No corners have been cut. Amanda was responsive and friendly in her communication. I would thoroughly recommend An Airigh and wished we could have stayed longer.

The best experience we ever had when booking an AirBnB. Caroline and Stephen were such fantastic hosts, the cottage was so cozy and comfortable, Caroline had thought of everything to make our stay perfect. When we arrived, she offered us breakfast hamper full of delicious things, fresh bread, croissants, pains au chocolates, fresh berries etc. That was the perfect fit for a cottage breakfast. Definitely a place to recommend and to come back! Thank you so much - it was great to stay here!
