We had an amazing few days at Rita's Roost! The pictures don't do the size and space justice, the apartment itself is amazing and has everything you could possibly need for a few calm and peaceful few days away. Lisa was so welcoming and always on hand if we needed anything or had any questions. The location is so quiet and peaceful and we couldnt recommend it more!

A wonderful escape to an unsung part of the world. As John makes clear, this isn't luxury, but that's kind of the point. How a farm stay should be: cosy, rustic, authentic. It was a privilege to be so close to John's livestock, especially in spring when there were so many babies! A sheep gave birth to twins right outside the cabin in my stay. Then there's the wildlife: kestrels, a friendly robin, what I think was a leveret / maybe a baby rabbit sitting right by the hut. Turn right out of the driveway and you're really in the wilds: I spotted deer and heard lots of curlew calls. Do the 45 min walk recommended by John - stunning. And walk to HAPPA; they do amazing work and the food is great. Simple kitchen, wall heater, comfy sofa bed (with a cute door to view the animals from bed!). A table / desk complete with binoculars. The loo is very basic but does the job! I don't drive but Ubers in the Burnley area made things easy. So glad I got to connect with nature here, I'll be back!

Had a brilliant stay, was met by Kevin to check in, he was very informative and couldn’t offer enough advice/guidance. Vikki was very responsive during communications and always very respectful and clear. The place itself is amazing, very spacious, clean and you get plenty of towels, cutlery etc. The hot tub is very well kept and smart. The hosts are there if you need anything but leave you to total privacy. The view from the back is outstanding and we had a brilliant time. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Fabulous place, furnished to a very high standard with really nice touches like wine and biscuits! High end bathrooms really suited my very discerning mother!!! I would go back in the blink of an eye!!!
