Family-friendly holiday rentals in Basye

This is a beautiful property very close to Shenandoah National park! My group of 5 friends had a great time. Kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed too. Hot tub was a nice touch too.

We had a really nice time at the cabin. Everything was laid out very nicely and was ready for us the moment we arrived. The space is beautiful and right on the lake. It was extremely peaceful to sit in the large screened deck and hang out with the stunning lake in view. Hope to stay here again some day!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The check in process was easy, views were great, hot tub was nice. Only complaints would be the bed as it was not comfy/very squeaky. We would definitely consider staying here again next time we visit Shenandoah National Park.

We love staying here. This was our third time. It’s a great area to explore and the house is super comfy. Lounging on the deck is the best part.

The only part of the stay that didn't get 5 stars was that it wasn't quite as secluded as I'd hoped for. There are a number of homes on the road to the cabin, and a thin line of trees breaks the view. Admittedly unless you're looking for the other houses you don't notice them, so I got past that quickly enough. That said, the cabin was perfect, clean, cozy and everything worked as stated. Having grown up in the country, but living in a city now, I felt the stress melt away as soon as I stepped into the massive yard where my son and I spent a lot of time playing soccer and other sports. My son and wife really enjoyed the hot tub. The location is 15 minutes away from Luray which meant that the stars were amazing for the brief break in the clouds we got, but that it was close enough to get groceries and take out as needed. Plus it's about 20 minutes away from Front Royal so there are places to go and enjoy like Skyline or Luray Caverns. Jackie was a great and responsive host!

This cabin and location were as peaceful and relaxing as they come! It’s close to Shenandoah National Park if you’re looking for some hikes or other outdoor activities, but it’s a perfect place to just hang out in nature and relax. We did not want to leave and can’t wait to go back!

This was our first time using Airbnb and it was a great experience. It was a little weird as I unlocked the door and walked in the first time. Soft lights and a screensaver on the tv, felt like I was walking into someone’s house. The views from the cabin were amazing - even in the rain and fog. Returning from town one day we discovered the power was out. Brian had sent a few messages keeping us informed. The wood stove kept us cozy. The hot tub was relaxing at sunset and at 6:30 in the morning. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The road was rough and got worse with 2 nights of heavy rain, but someone was taking care of it as best they could. The rain had the waterfall running fast and furious. I have added pics of an early morning and a sunset from the deck as screensavers to my phone to remind me of this beautiful place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The house was beautiful and comfortable with enough apace for everyone. Everyone loved the screened living space in the back, the well equipped kitchen, multiple bathrooms, walking tails and beautiful location. We're already discussing the next family trip to the area. Many thanks for helping to make our special occasion a wonderful family gathering.

We loved to be there. The most peaceful place that we had been. Finally we stayed in a place that we were dream of. Thanks Kimberly for the amazing home. Definitely, we are coming back.

This place was perfect for what I needed. It was cozy, clean and in close proximity to restaurants, downtown, and close access to main roads in and out of town. I brought my dog and her fenced in yard was so convenient. I had the pleasure of meeting the Dianne and you could not finder a nicer host. 10/10 recommend!

We had a great retreat at John’s place. The farm was just the spot for a quiet weekend outside the city. John was a great host, thoughtful and responsive.

The setting of the home was breathtaking!!! The mountain was beautiful and the open patio was perfect to see the moon and stars at night! We were thinking there was too little light on the patio when we arrived but we know now it’s intentional. The home was spacious and had everything we could have needed. Hot tub was amazing and we can’t wait to return to Lost City!!

The "Sugar Shack" is a lovely place for a retreat. I picked it because there were enough bedrooms for a girlfriend retreat where everyone could have their own space, but I want to go back with my family and spend more time on the river which is just out the door! We loved spending time out on the porch eating meals, by the fire pit, and in the cozy living room watching movies. We also visited Seven Bends State Park (~20 min drive) for a nice hike. Hosts were very responsive and clear with instructions. Thank you Julie!

Super nice, cozy and well thought out decor. Close to Front Royal downtown and conveniently located close to restaurants and Shenandoah National Park’s North Entrance. Space was just right for me and hubby. The place had private access/stairs up (1 flight or so) to the Apt offering a quiet stay and extra privacy. Would stay here again and def recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay. The views were spectacular and we enjoyed how baby/toddler friendly the house was - high chair, pack n play, baby gate. Our daughter had a great time playing with the Brio train set. The kitchen was well equipped for making home cooked meals.

Awesome experience--Billy did such a nice job renovating the barn! Very clean, offered a nice binder to educate us on the area and what restaurants and amenities are around. There were maps and some suggestions for local hikes. They provided soap, conditioner, shampoo, linens, and even coffee beans! He was super responsive to my messages. The only things I would say are that we wish there was one more chair I'm the dining area (there were only 2) and that it's probably not the best place for someone to stay if they have mobility issues due to the loft ladder. You can use the outside steps to get up but will have to get luggage up the stairs regardless. But those are minor, we had a fantastic stay!!

This was an amazing and beautiful cabin! The cabin was very spacious and was perfect for what we needed. Owners were very proactive and responsive and communicative. I appreciated that there were no surprises and if anything came up, they would be able to respond in a timely manner. Would definitely stay here again!

Brad’s place is beautiful! Comfortable bed! There was available coffee, super plus. Phone chargers on both sides of the bed. Just perfect. Just wished we could have stayed longer.

We had a wonderful getaway at Seths place in Rockingham. Perfect location for a group of 12 girlfriends that wanted to relax. Loved the pool and the porch/patio! Felt like Tuscany. Seth and Carla were extremely responsive to the couple of small issues we had. Definitely recommend.

Comfortable beds, super clean hot tub and such a nice place to spend spring break. Excellent communication and very pleasant hosts. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips.

Andy was very responsive and gave clear instructions. We had been at this resort a few times in the past and the unit we received was very nicely appointed and updated. We had all amenities and were super close to the indoor pool and gym. Comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! Close enough to all the hikes we wanted to do. Pet friendly (huge for us) and beautiful views! Please make sure you read the whole listing, as you definitely need a vehicle with 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway. We brought our own towels, sheets, and so on as stated and everything else we needed was available. Would recommend bringing dish towels. We had forgotten them this trip. Cooking pots and pans are little outdated but they’re just fine! We had a wonderful taco night anniversary dinner at the cabin and throughly enjoyed a nice soak in the hot tub. There’s a very nice above ground pool also but it was too cold this time of year to swim in. I would definitely stay again!
