Earth house holiday rentals in Arizona

I am grateful for the opportunity to stay in a traditional Navajo hogan. The hogan itself was very beautiful and very well built. Inside, it was perfectly quiet, even with a wind blowing outside, as is usually the case with all earth homes. The surrounding scenery was gorgeous, as you are able to see beginnings of the Grand Canyon. I took advantage of the walking trail that skirts the perimeter of the property, and felt like the only person on the whole planet. In meeting and talking with Paul and Baya, I found they were both very friendly and easy to talk to. I am glad I got to know them a little bit, and chat. If I'm ever in the Page area again, I would definitely stay at the Shash Dine hogan.

We enjoyed being able to arrive at a time that worked for us. The breakfast was also ready on time with homemade pastries. View and evening by sharing the awesome Milky Way.

A very unique experience! Clear instructions. We loved the quiet and getting to stargaze at night. Would definitely stay again.

Oh my gosh. I loved the creativity and authenticity of the old best B&B. It is clear that this has been a passion project for Curtis. He has spent many many many hours creating these handmade Adobe without power tools. I loved walking through the cabin to get to the old West campus. It was like a portal going from conventional Tucson to 1800s Tucson. I liked having a separate cabin to myself. I really didn’t wanna leave. It’s so rustic and clever. It really reminded me of my Peace corps service in West Africa in the sub-Saharan desert. Water and electricity are limited and it’s a super rustic, authentic travel experience that everybody should try. Make sure you get trained on the compostable toilets before you arrive. I might not recommend this for the luxury traveler. But they could probably use the experience! :-)

Tucked away from busy roads, but very easy to access, this very comfortable home was just what I needed to relax and enjoy.

I had a very winderful stay at this rustic hogan. It was simple and basic, but comfortable. The sunrise view was beautiful, and the location is super convenient—very close to the park. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. I also had the chance to meet the host and her sister, who shared some informative history about the Navajo Nation. Learned a lot in such short time. I would be happy to return someday.

It was a very nice spot, great views of the mountains. Very private; private patio. Every room was squeaky clean and kitchen had everything we needed. Diane was very nice and easy to communicate with. I will gladly recommend it and probably will use it for myself and guests coming into the area to visit.

The house was exactly as we had hoped. The outdoor space is amazing. We spent all of our time at the house outside. The grill, firepit, lounging area and dining table - we used them all. The view was stunning. The house does sit on the major road into Sedona. There is almost constant road noise. But it is not so bad that a little music can't cover it up.

Monk and Simonne truly hosted me with care, and the courtyard of exquisite desert flora and fauna kept me captivated during quiet morning and evening reflections. This is the perfect spot for someone who wants a walkable neighborhood on a peaceful street, short drives to downtown and the U of A, and quiet space for reflection. The colors of the adobe interior are luscious. The kitchen was set up for someone who, like me, ACTUALLY intends to cook most of their meals. What a gem.

This property has incredible views and is located right near a lot of wonderful things: restaurants, trails, etc., but is in such a quite residential neighborhood that you are completely immune to the increasingly over-touristed reality of Sedona. We’ve been to Sedona three or four times, and this was the best location by far.

Great value and only a couple minutes from a few fantastic public golf courses. The only opportunity to improve our stay is to fix the control panel on the hot tub so the jets will work. Otherwise, this was a great place to rest after a long day on the course.

Worth every penny! Susan was great, met me at the door and was extremely hospitable! This place is perfect for a single person or a a couple of people.

This was our second visit to Casa Cheruy and once again it was a magical experience. Demion is hands down the best host we have every stayed with. His responsiveness, attention to detail and thoughtfulness is truly impressive. Staying at Casa Cheruy is akin to living in a modernized American Southwest adobe museum. From the artwork to the furniture the home is steeped in beautiful historical glamour. We loved that the home's location was close to hiking, the famed Tucson biking/walking loop, groceries, shopping and restaurants. This is the perfect home base for visiting Tucson.

We LOVED our time at Gigi's place, which is truly special. If you don't like impersonal, cookie-cutter accommodations when you travel, look no further. Gigi's place is decorated in an eccentric but classy style, creating a cheerful, homey, welcoming feel. Even though it's central to everything in Tucson, you feel like you've stepped into an oasis once you walk through the door. We visited in early March, so while my daughter braved the pool, I stayed put on the amazingly comfortable loungers and soaked up the spring sunshine. I loved the sound of the wind chimes and the presence of two friendly cats. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need to cook, and you can choose to dine at the gorgeous formal table, the little table next to the kitchen, or outside on the back patio. One of the two bedrooms also has an adorable sitting room that opens to the private patio. We were sad to leave but will be back! I would never stay anywhere else in Tucson.

I absolutely loved this place! The cottage was so cozy and felt just like home! The cats around the house were my personal favorite. Kelleen is very welcoming, kind, and a great person! I would definitely recommend this:)

This was my first time staying at an Air bnb. I must say the standard was set very high. The vibe of the place just shimmers with authenticy. It felt like traveling through time. You can really get a sense for the passion and love the hosts have for life. Absolutely recommend!

We spent just a few days at Nicole’s place and wished we could have moved in - it was a great layout for two friends, with the most comfortable beds, simple and beautiful furnishings everywhere, a perfectly stocked kitchen, an awesome backyard, easy off-street parking, and even on some unseasonably hot April days the whole home stayed cool and comfy. Already trying to figure out when we can come back. I also loved Nicole’s recommendations - so many of my favorites plus some cool new local spots to explore (the nearby bakery - sooo good!).

Gloria’s desert hideaway provided the most peaceful and tranquil stay imaginable. It is located right next to the West Saguaro National Park with amazing views and tons of wildlife to enjoy. The home itself is super comfortable with beautifully appointed furnishings and a well stocked kitchen. The dark skies are perfect for stargazing.

This has to be one of the best airbnbs I have stayed at ! Good vibes as soon as you walk in. The location is perfect very close to town and hiking trails. The place itself is better than what it looks like in the pictures. We were going to eat out but decided to get take out and eat there to enjoy the ambiance that this house had. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to Sedona !
