Family-friendly holiday rentals in Amherst County

This place in the mountains is BEAUTIFUL! I wanted to stay longer. I was there for my graduation from Liberty University. It was about an hour away, but it worked for me because the property was large enough to house all of my family and friends. Jennifer was VERY responsive. The kitchen was amazing. There is a Food Lion about 6 minutes away down the hill, and restaurants. My grandsons and niece loved the outdoor play area. My husband loved the fire pit. I loved sitting on the porch on the swing. Wow! What an amazing place! We had so much fun! There is plenty of space inside—7 bedrooms and 6 baths—with plenty of places to congregate. Front porch, back porch, fire pit and other outside seating areas are wonderful! The huge house was clean and inviting. It is a wonderful escape!

What a beautiful little oasis. I was born and raised in the area, and it was so wonderful to stay here and get such an authentic blue ridge experience. The property is perfect for nature lovers and adventurers who want to be away from the hustle and bustle. The stars are bright and you can hear the late night bugs chirping. The creek that runs into the river gurgles right next to the firepit. There is a train that runs close to the house which is also one of my favourite sounds. If you are a city folk who is used to fancy hotels, it may take some getting used to, but it is a perfect spot if you want a magical retreat in the woods.

We loved the attention to detail that Danielle gave with our particular stay. We were there for a graduation and she included a grad balloon and we also had dogs and she provided a little goodie bag for them and dog bowls, etc. Nice touches!

This was a perfect location for our extended family visit. Close to University of Lynchburg. Apartment was perfect size for our extended family. Breakfast was delicious. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Our family of three had a wonderful stay at this charming cabin! It was the perfect mix of peaceful and fun—the setting by the river is incredibly relaxing, and our child absolutely loved watching the horses and exploring the open space. The cabin was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully stocked kitchen and cozy common areas. We spent our mornings sipping coffee on the porch, took easy day trips into Lexington, and enjoyed quiet evenings by the fireplace. If you’re looking for a family-friendly retreat surrounded by nature and animals, this place is a gem. We’d definitely come back!

We rented all four properties so our extended family could stay together to celebrate graduation festivities at VMI. It was absolutely beautiful and worked out so well us. Kendra was absolutely great with everything we needed starting with planning a year out. We ordered the bbq chicken and brisket from JJ Meat Shak (Kendra owns it, too) in Buena Vista and it was so good. Highly recommend. The houses and hospitality arei so much more than the pictures show.

I had an amazing stay at this charming one-bedroom apartment in downtown Lynchburg! The location is unbeatable – right in the heart of downtown, with fantastic restaurants, cozy cafes, and exciting activities all within walking distance. The apartment itself is lovely, very clean, and tastefully decorated. It’s cozy yet spacious, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the bedroom is comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The hosts were wonderful – incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready with great recommendations. Their hospitality made us feel right at home. Overall, this downtown apartment exceeded my expectations. If you're planning a visit to Lynchburg, I highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed!

A big apartment with plenty of amenities. It really feels like home. Communication with the host was as smooth as possible. Strong Wi-Fi signal everywhere. A great vacation place. The only issue for some is that it is far from everything, without a car, restaurants, groceries, etc. are in reality out of reach, at least with a small child.

If I could give this place and the owners more than 5 stars, I would. The house and the views were absolutely amazing! The owners were fantastic and very responsive! My family was in town because my daughter was getting married and they fell in love with the place. My 83 year old father even caught some fish in the catch and release pond! I absolutely would recommend this place to anyone.

Very nice house! Well-equipped kitchen, owner was awesome and supplied eggs, milk, and OJ along with snacks, which saved us when we got in late. Very responsive and nice during all communication.

A comfortable and celebratory stay for our daughter’s graduation. The location was close enough for getting where we needed to be but far enough away from the hustle of graduation weekend. A well appointed home and an extremely well stocked kitchen. We especially enjoyed the screened porch!
