Lake house holiday rentals in Windermere

Great two day stay for our family of four. The place is right near Turf Moor in a clean and light area. The space is recently renovated and bright. And the host is very responsive to any needs that arise. Great stay. Thank you.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Abbots Moss. It was last minute (same day booking) and everything was ready and in order. The house was definitely a home away from home which is exactly what I am looking for. We have two children and a very well behaved golden - all loved the location and the house. The grounds and lake are exquisite and so peaceful. The lounge area was beautifully decorated with sofas I would purchase for my own home. Linens are also something I look for and the beds were all lovely. We enjoyed the area, eating out at some local recommendations, visiting Hadrian's Wall, completing our first family Wainwright summit! Thank you Tamar. We would love to return!

We really enjoyed our stay - close to Ulverston, the Priory and many places we aimed to see during our visit. Lindsay corresponded quickly. The house is very comfortable, very clean and nicely decorated as in the photos - we wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Lindsay. :)

This place exceeded our expectations. Immaculate, spacious, great location. Although it was bank holiday weekend it was so peaceful in the boathouse yet very close to the town. We loved it - a great place to meet up with friends!

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

we had a lovely 4 nights in the Thomas Gray House. Such beautiful settings. we took some of the recommended pubs and restaurants and were not disappointed. the house did feel very cosy and a home from home. we will be visiting this estate again.

Absolutely fabulous stay! Gorgeous views and have never felt so relaxed in a short space of time. Liz and Dave’s directions were brilliant and helped us find their plot with ease. The caravan had a lovely, clean and fresh smell as we arrived and it was spotless. Beautiful surroundings and so peaceful. Considering there were so many other caravans close by, it felt really private and like it was just us there. We were gutted to come home and cannot wait to come back! We’re already planning our return trip and cannot recommend Liz and Dave’s property enough! Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Elisabeth's property is a great place located in a beautiful area, that is extremely close to shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Located close to Skiddaw and Lake Derwent, you can leave the house and chose a hike of your choice. The house is equipped with everything you need and I will be looking to return when back in the area.

Such a beautiful place to stay - incredible views and so peaceful - just birdsong. The house was perfect - super comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, warm and clean. Thank you for the lovely bread too - such a nice touch. Would very much recommend.

We stayed at Brad and Sue’s place in Coniston in June. Great location - lots of restaurants and cafes in walking distance and several small shops for essentials. We were 5 adults and a dog and found the accommodation really comfortable with everything we needed for our week. Helpful tips for local pubs, cafes and restaurants from Brad and Sue. Lots to do around Coniston.

Absolutely stunning property, location was literally 2 minutes walk into the centre. The property had everything we needed and the host was very responsive, we had a fantastic stay, thank you xx

Great property in a very quiet area, perfect for anyone that ones to go for a hike. David was responsive to our queries, the property was clean and tidy.

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

This well appointed place was ideal for an extended family holiday for 6 adults and 1 grandchild. The facilities are excellent and the pack provided by the host offered great advice on what to do. The weather was relatively kind most days and there was plenty to do locally, but even when it rained, the garden room is such a lovely place to sit and watch the world and the rain go by. First class and won't hesitate to book again.

We had a wonderful short stay at Stonegarth. The accommodation was spacious, clean & in a perfect location. The fire was a particularly nice feature! Sharon & Attilio were great hosts - we’ll be back!

Clean, peaceful house within minutes of abundant amenities of Keswick with numerous walks from the front door or via nearby bus stops. Perfect.

Annabel is a great person and very helpful. She suggested few places to visit, which comes out worthy to visit. She is very responsive with all of our questions. I definitely want to visit this place again soon. It’s a perfect getaway from crowds and spend some time with nature without any disturbances.

John was a great host with constant communication throughout the stay. The check in was very easy with no issues at all. The location is amazing with great hikes around the lake district and a good choice of local places for food and coffee. The accommodation was well decorated and great sleeping arrangements. I would recommend John as a host to anyone.

A lovely house in an absolutely brilliant location. Minutes away from the centre of town and with a view to die for. Plenty of space for the family to relax in when the typical British weather let us down. Thankyou!

Great place to stay. Perfect location. Useful to know: The house has 3 floors. The bathroom is on the top floor. There is an additional shower room off the kitchen.

Cameron was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. We loved the local beer and biscuits he prepared for us—such a thoughtful touch! We truly enjoyed our time here and only wish we could have stayed longer. A fantastic place overall!
