We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Tracy’s beautiful home after our wedding, and it was the perfect way to end our unforgettable day. The peaceful, waterfront setting was calming and romantic, and Tracy went above and beyond to make us feel special with a thoughtful bottle of wine, snacks, drinks, and a personalized congratulatory card. The home was spotless, cozy, and full of charm. Every detail felt just right. We are beyond grateful to Tracy for helping make our wedding night even more magical. This is a beautiful, old home that has been remodeled nicely. The kitchen amenities are solid. We hosted a Thanksgiving dinner here for my local family and it was absolutely perfect for the occasion. I saw the previous review about heat issues and mold, but we didn't encounter any of those problems. The heat worked very well on the main floor. It was a little chilly in the upstairs bedroom, but nothing that a portable wall heater couldn't take care of. The beds were super comfortable and everything was very clean. The layout of the bedrooms is a little awkward, but nothing insurmountable. There are some hard-to-navigate stairs that lead to the upstairs bedroom that would be impossible for the very old to navigate, but my teenage kids did just fine getting up there. The host was incredibly responsive and even had warm, homemade sourdough bread waiting for us! John is a wonderful host and this home is a true find.

It was a great space. We rented the apartment for the Christmas holiday, for my daughter and her partner and Kristen was very accommodating. It is near to our home so it worked great. It was a homey place for them to spend the holiday.

This was the perfect place for three friends who write and workshop together online to gather in person. The main room of the house is filled with light and what I didn't realize from the listing is the beautiful view from the living/dining room down to the river. The kitchen is well supplied and every room was very clean and uncluttered. The three bedrooms on the first floor are all very nice, with good beds and pillows (one is slightly larger with a king-sized bed), so we were able to decide on our rooms painlessly and none of us had to settle for an inferior room. The large dining table was perfect for spreading out our work as well as for dining, and one of us enjoyed having the furnished basement as her private work space. When we had a problem with hearing a beeping noise, which we initially thought might be a smoke detector battery that needed replacing, Bob was very responsive and helpful in figuring out the cause of the beeping from a motion detector. We plan to come again.

The place was great for us. We came as a family of 5 with our 3 boys' girlfriends. We all had such a nice time. The rooms were perfect. The backyard was a treat. Loved the firepit and the grill. We had such great family time. Thanks!

This house is very charming and spacious, with an excellent kitchen and bedroom layouts. Westport and the Acoaxet neighborhood are so charming and make for a pleasant vacation with lots of beach and nature preserves surrounding. Anyway, I highly recommend this stay.

I researched all the rentals available on Air BnB, etc. in the area I was planning my visit. and Elizabeth's listing looked perfect. I still cannot believe my luck. The price was the most reasonable, but come to find out, the accommodation was what made my trip perfect. BEAUTIFUL location. Quiet (aside from chirping birds, occassional wild turkey gobbles, buzzing bumblebees, and cricket chirps.) Peaceful. Well maintained landscape (flowers, bushes, lush greenery) and views of property that are amazing. I just cannot quit talking about my stay to my friends and family. Elizabeth was very accommodating and kind. Planning my next stay already!

Cappy’s Cottage is absolutely adorable. It’s the little thoughtful touches here and there that really stand out. The beds were extremely comfortable; I slept so soundly, I didn’t even hear my snoring hubby, lol. We were only in town for a couple days, and I honestly wish we had more time to spend there, because I know it would’ve been so relaxing and fun. Emily is an absolute rock star host. She was proactive in messaging about checked in, and local recommendations. Super responsive when we couldn’t find the tv remote-I mean, like she responded within a minute. When we left, I mentioned that we had another trip coming up in July, and should her booking cancel for any reason, to please let us know…and she responded with suggestions for other places that had the availability we needed! I honestly can’t say enough nice things about the house and Emily!
