Farmstay holiday rentals in West Devon District

Lovely short stay in Bude. Lesley greeted us upon arrival and was welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was well decorated and spotlessly clean. Felt like staying in a high end beach hut, just the right feel for a few days by the beach. Surroundings were peaceful with superb views of the countryside. Really convenient for trips into Bude town, would definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic few days in Cornwall visiting friends. Pat and Tony’s place is lovely and in a very quiet spot. The owners were very flexible with check-in and check-out rules. There was even some homemade jam and bread for our breakfast. Tony was very welcoming. We would return any time. The place is tucked away and not very easy to find, but the instructions were clear. Using the “What3Words” app would have made it even easier. I did add the place to my favourites in the app in order to find my way back in the dark.

Wonderful cottage in a peaceful location. Great base for exploring Devon with the kids. Very dog friendly too and the fenced off woods were a fantastic bonus. Cottage was a typical farm cottage (which is what we like) and was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The kids loved watching the horses each day. We had an amazing time over the bank holiday weekend! The barn was self check-in, but Fran went above and beyond to ensure everything was clearly communicated and stress-free. We arrived a bit earlier than expected, and Fran kindly allowed us to check in early, such a thoughtful gesture that made a big difference to our journey. The barn itself is stunning, with breathtaking views and plenty of outdoor space to explore. It was the perfect countryside escape. We were travelling with a 2-year-old, so the thoughtful touches like books, toys, and a stair gate were hugely appreciated. The only minor challenge was a few small, unexpected steps throughout the barn- absolutely fine for older kids and adults, but a bit tricky for our toddler to navigate. That being said, we couldn’t recommend this place more, it’s a beautiful, peaceful spot with everything you could need for a relaxing getaway.

We had a super short break at the Otter Cottage. The location is really good, well positioned for Clovelly and the Hartland peninsula to the south, the beaches (and golf courses) of Westwood Ho and Saunton plus Exmoor to the north. Sophie was really welcoming and what really struck us was the attention to detail in the cottage. Everything was well prepared and everything had been thought through to make the stay as relaxing as possible. Highly recommended!

Wonderful stay at the Megabus. My daughter and I love it - lovely location. Our 2nd stay, we look forward to visiting again. Sarah and Ian are great hosts.

This was my second stay at Maggie’s place in Cornwall and all I can say is I wish i hadn’t left it so long. I’d forgotten just how beautiful a location it is and so so peaceful in the evenings after a long day at work. There have been a few additions to the equipment in the kitchen which made my cooking experience even easier than before. But overall…. I love it there and didn’t want to leave it at check out this morning. Thank you Maggie. See you again soon I hope.

Will and Gill were amazing hosts. We had an issue where we lost our car key while on a beach walk and they could not have been more helpful. Regarding the shepherd's hut itself, it was everything we hoped for. More spacious than appears I'm the photos and was more than enough room for two adults , two kids and a dog. Nicely furnished and well kitted out, it had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Hot tub was a big hit with kids and adults alike. Very private and peaceful with large field for the dog to run around , it really had everything. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Just WOW! Was the perfect weekend away and oh my is the place everything and more. Went down to the Jurassic Coast as it was recommended and not a long drive and that was just perfect. Definitely won’t be the last time we stay here! Thank you so much

we absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. Andy and Sam made us feel so welcome. The cabin was perfect for our little family. Our 3 year old son especially enjoyed feeding the animal, the chickens in particular. The location was spot on and the perfect mix between country and seaside with the beach being 30 minutes away. would definitely recommend.

Amazing from start to finish! Great communication, easy directions, smooth self check in and a lovely rural peaceful location! We all felt very welcome. The Shepherd’s Hut was spotless and very well prepared for us with a thoughtful little welcome gifts. We really appreciated the attention to every single detail! The guide book with local tips was very useful. Now I regret not booking more nights as this was only a little stop on our way down to south Cornwall, but we’ll definitely be back! We had a wonderful time staying at Ruby Rose. The surroundings are idyllic. Our 5 year old daughter loved checking on the chickens , collecting their eggs and ensuring they had their water topped up. The outdoor games provided were a great touch - we had quality family time. Denise was welcoming and helpful. Thank you for having us

My wife and I stayed at the lodge for our wedding anniversary and it was without a doubt a treat. The cabin and surroundings were just as described; all amenities provided, cabin itself was exceptionally clean, parking was easy with the allocated area, a very private area to ourselves as per the title of the listing, and convenient location to drive around Cornwall from. The owners (Tim & Carol), were very friendly and responsive to any queries we had prior to and through our stay. The extra plus points were the refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits & soft drinks) provided to us in the lodge, and a beautifully maintained garden for us to enjoy a meal at while of course being treated to the view of horses in the neighbouring field. Thank you so much for having us Tim & Carol. Highly recommend a stay at Birdsong Lodge and we're sure to return on our next visit to Cornwall.

We had a beautiful week at The Cart Barn, beautiful location with beautiful views and a private garden which was perfect for our pooch! we spent most of our evenings watching the beautiful cows out the garden! the hot tub was a lovely addition and the barn had everything we needed to make ourselves and our dog feel at home! Some great recommendations in the welcome book and from the owners of local things to do! Will definitely be returning in the future! :)

Lovely bolthole - beautiful barn with a wonderful view over nice garden and fields. Well equipped for two people and comfy with nice living space and TV. Kitchen had everything we needed (and we did lots of cooking) and good oven/hob/BBQ. The best thing for us was the tennis court - it's an artificial turf court in excellent condition - played very nicely and we used it every day! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect place for a couple. Centrally located for whole of South Hams area. Really quiet. The host was really welcoming. Accommodation was really well presented and spotlessly clean. Super bathroom and a really comfortable bed. We’d certainly stay there again!

Having grown up in the area, Kennel Farm is the place we choose to come back for our family holiday every year. We love the house and surroundings. Excellent location and Tanya is a perfect host. Highly recommend.

You cannot find a more beautiful and peaceful location for a few days rest within nature. Their homestead is so quiet apart from bird song. The cottage is very calm and comfortable with a beautiful log fire in the cooler evenings. The private garden and terrace you have has wonderful views and is ideal for eating alfresco plus a very roomy private car park. Bed is super comfortable with lovely high quality linen. I would not hesitate to stay again and the cheeky gorgeous Truffle Cockerpoo owners dog is very friendly and welcoming.

My stay at Frances’ was absolutely lovely- she made us feel very welcome from the offset! The place is very charming and homely- I’ll be back for sure if I return to this neck of the woods!

Thank you for a lovely stay. Lovely accomodation in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We enjoyed walks around the farm and we were joined by one of the hosts dogs a couple of times which we loved. We even managed to see an otter down at the river on our first night! Bird and hedgehog watching from the hot tub with a glass of bubbly… bliss.

This is a fantastic place to stay and Emma and Kevin are the perfect balance of friendly while also giving you privacy. The whole place is so well equipped and the wood-fired hot tub is so relaxing, even in the rain! The location is fantastic for Dartmoor and Totnes, and the local pub is fab.
