Great house in a beautiful location. Excellent amenities, beautiful design, perfect for travelling with pups. A few notes: - The # of steps up to the unit might be underestimated by a factor of ~5. Not recommended unless you're reasonably fit. - The bedroom doors don't latch. There are hook-style locks provided....on the outside of the door. Not a huge deal, just means you need to shove something under the door if you want to keep the dogs from nosing their way in. - The water from the tap gets _really_ hot. This is great for some things (shaving) and less great for others (shower, dishwashing) Overall an excellent spot!

Good location. shopping Center, supermarket is walking distance or short drive away. Impressive kitchen and utensils for cooking. Plenty of spices, cooking ingredients and breakfast cereal are provided as well. Pretty sure the owner is food enthusiasts or chef. Well equipped kitchen same as what you have at home.

The flat was very cosy and homely. I must say the bed was so comfortable it was amazing I slept well. It accommodated all my needs staying there as a single traveller. The highlight was the view, as on top of the hill overlooking Owhiro Bay Beach, Red Rocks, Devil's Gate, The Mountains and towards the South Island. It was breath taking and so nice to look at every day and watch the birds fly over to and from the sea catching the wind gusts. On the 13th May 2025 Wellington put on an awesome sunset which was incredible I got some top pics as I had a bird's eye view at the house watching it. I grew up in Owhiro Bay so it brought back a lot of fond memories that I will cherish. Helen was an excellent host, kind, caring, easy to contact and she even dropped off a wheat bag for me as I had a sore back which was a fantastic help. Dealing with Helen was an ease and she is a lovely lady and I would recommended staying there for any traveller. Thanks heaps Helen I will be back again soon :)

Barbara’s house was in a nice quiet location. It had everything that we needed for our stay and the house and section was child friendly. Thank you for your hospitality.

Michael’s place was exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to get around and worked perfectly for my trip. The townhouse was clean and quiet. I would definitely stay again.

An excellent Airbnb experience every time I booked here. Even had the fire roaring for when I arrived late evening.

This was the cutest little cottage and in a great location to get back and forth between Wellington and Lower Hutt. It was close to a number of great places to eat, and a short walk to the beach. We had no issues at all and should we return to New Zealand (from the US), we would definitely book again.

This is my 2nd time staying at Emily’s, I love it. It feels like you’ve just returned home with all the homely touches. Close to the city and all the amazing cafes. It is an old building with all of the old charm.

We needed a place to crash for a single night before visiting Weta and flying out of the airport, and Marks place was perfect for that.

If you want an Airbnb that is a highlight of your trip stay here! For our family it was a great source of interest to look into the history of the Building and explore the surrounds. Good for people or all ages!

Overall this was a lovely house with beautiful views. Finding the drive was a little difficult as Google says you've arrived at number 2 🤣 The driveway is definitely steep as warned in the listing but well worth it for the views. My family loved our stay, it was comfortable and warm.

Amelia is the perfect host! She found us a flexible solution even when it seemed like there wasn’t one. The House of Windows is one of the most creative and impressive homes I’ve stayed in — not just in New Zealand, but anywhere in the world. Perched high on a hill above the bay, it’s the perfect place to relax, work out, and do yoga. It’s clear that a lot of thought and effort went into every corner of the house. Amelia took amazing care of us — she sent us wonderful recommendations and even helped us find a babysitter, which was truly above and beyond. If there’s one place I’d return to for a long holiday and a coffee with an incredible woman — it’s this house (: We honestly didn’t want to leave.

Very kind and thoughtful responsive hosts!! Easy to find and plenty parking along the street. Our kiddo and fur baby were all happyyyy. Superb comfy hot water pressure, especially during this cold weather!!!

We had a wonderful stay. Natalie was a very good host. As soon as we arrived Cha Cha took us down to the river for a play. Samba the cat was very confident and fun too. The place is really nice and the tree house is super cosy and warm. In a safe and peaceful location. Would stay again.

Loved my stay here. It really felt like a classic Kiwi Bach The beds were really comfortable and all the linen was high quality. Scott was very friendly and kind. We will definitely be back.
