From the moment we were greeted by Isabella, Massimo and their son, to the moment we said goodbye we felt right at home. The house is well located. It was nice to leave the hustle of the old city and retreat to the expansive peaceful terrace of the house for an “aperitivo” before dinner. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well after long days of touring. One of our favorite things was collecting water from the town spring, which was just a few doors away.

We spent great holidays here and enjoyed our stay very much. The hosts received us personally and very friendly. They showed and explained everything to us. They were always available for questions and could give us many great recommendations for the area, for example restaurants or excursions. The accommodation is a townhouse. Thanks to the stone walls, it is nice and cool inside. The kitchen is rather sparsely equipped, but it is sufficient for preparing breakfast or simple meals. In addition, the hosts can be asked for help at any time and the needs can be communicated. The garden also invites you to linger and our dog was allowed to move freely. Unfortunately, there were many mosquitoes in the evening. The whole place was clean. It is recommended to arrive with a vehicle, for example, to explore the surroundings, to make excursions or to eat or shop in Lucca. The nearby aqueduct invites you to run/walk.

we really enjoyed our stay here! it was walkable to everything we wanted to do and had great restaurants near by. It was clean and comfortable.

It was very easy to communicate with Barbara. She is proactive and a very kind host. In fact, she is the most generous host that we have come across. She offered us the use of everything in the apartment including a fully-stocked fridge and pantry. We found the location of Barbara's apartment to be perfect for our 2 nights in Lucca. Though the apartment is very close to the train station and train tracks, it has very good sound-insulation and we could not hear any noise from the passing trains. We could leave our car in the private carpark and take a short walk to the walled City of Lucca. We absolutely recommend staying at Barbara.s apartment which is very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated.
