Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s place, house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed for a month stay. Private and beautiful surroundings, responsive and friendly host, and a great location to explore Maine and the upper east coast. Memories to last a lifetime! Would recommend anyone wanting to enjoy to coast of Maine to stay here and have a great time, so much to see and do. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

This is one of the most peaceful places I have ever visited, much less gotten to stay for a few nights. The sunsets are unreal. Getting to wake up and fall asleep to this beautiful view, walking along the beach, listening to the waves,and watching the tide come in and out was so serene and quiet and a very restorative escape. The house was the perfect space, I stayed there solo and it was so cozy and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked, couch and living room were super comfy as well. Loved all the books available! Even in rain or cold the view from inside let you feel like you were outside, it was gorgeous. The outdoor space was equally as wonderful, I loved all the options with the picnic table, patio, fire pit and beach. Susan was very helpful and accommodating with my questions and when I wanted to extend my stay. Really hope I can come back to stay in the future!

This cottage is set back from the road and surrounded by a wooded area, so it is very private. The waterfront access was amazing! Rent a kayak - ask Debbie and Annie for the local contact - and enjoy your time kayaking along the beautiful coastline. Ride your bike, go for a run, or for a leisurely walk along the sparsely traveled roads and enjoy the nice scenery! Brink your wet suit and snorkeling set and enjoy looking at the ocean floor and going for a swim. The nearby towns of Ellsworth and Blue Hill have everything you might need. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, and has all of the conveniences needed. Acadia National Park is a must see, and it is a short scenic drive away. We see ourselves coming back to this place!

Very clean. Very comfortable. About 15 minutes from the Park and Bar Harbor. Really good host. I highly recommend!

Erica was SO accommodating and helpful. She responded extremely quick anytime we messaged and gave us tips and recommendations. Her home is adorable and we really enjoyed being there. It had everything we needed! Only thing to note is that while her place is 20 minutes from Acadia’s entrance it is a big park so anytime we were going to a hike it did take more like 40 minutes to get to it, just worth a mention! Highly recommend her place!

We had a very pleasant visit! Everything was exactly as described. We loved sitting outside and watching the tide come in! We will definitely be back!

Aaron's place was super cute and cozy,was one of the best places we have ever rented, Amazing and very private super close to Bar Harbor and attractions in the Area,like Cadillac mountain and the Arcadia national Park surroundings etc,the bed is comfortable and hot water was Amazing,the Grill is super easy to use and super efficient,the view of the lake is a Dream come true when you wake up in the morning or sunset to look out into the lake as you have either breakfast or dinner,it is especial when you can enjoy your stay in such amazing environment and gorgeous home, shopping at Hannaford and then cooking it at the home grill was the best dinner ever, thanks to Aaron for attention to detail at this property,I definitely recommend renting this home for privacy and comfort of the mind,is truly a great home and location to the attractions are superb,is far enough for privacy and close enough to all attractions without a Doubt is a Gem,I will Definitely come back without thinking about it

Everything was clean and just what I expected from the listing. It was a great location in relation to Acadia National Park. We enjoyed staying in more secluded spot, but we could easily drive into the busier Bar Harbor area. I highly recommend staying at Hannah’s place!

The house was in a great neutral location for getting around Mount Desert Island. We frequented the quaint coffee shop and winery close by during our stay, and it was easy to get to Bar Harbor, Acadia, Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor. The house was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed the back porch with coffee in the mornings and the sunset at the beach multiple days. Melissa and Dana were extremely responsive before and during our arrival. Thank you for a great vacation stay!

This is a wonderful comfortable house on a pleasant quiet road. Very convenient location. Only 10 minutes to downtown Ellsworth, main city in the area, and 10 minutes the other direction to the charming town of Blue Hill. Great food co-op with organic foods in Blue Hill which also has a fabulous wine store with an eclectic excellent selection of wines from around the world. The Blue Hill Peninsula is fun to explore. House is one level, stairs needed for entry but not once inside. It is well-stocked, everything works great -- a/c & heat, cell phone internet & TV, all appliances. Large W&D on main level is a plus. House also has an automatic on demand generator in case of power outages which is awesome although wasn't needed during my stay. Owners live down the road and are accessible if needed but otherwise give you privacy. This is a great place to base oneself if you’re visiting the Blue Hill Peninsula or even Acadia which is only about an hour away so easy day trip.

Amazing place, even better than my wife and I expected. Great location on the lake, peaceful, but not completely removed to the point of inconvienent to see other things. Easy drive to get food/groceries or to Acadia NP, but also, the place is so pleasant you don't want to leave :) The lovely chickens greeting us was an added bonus, they were fun to feed and play with but also never a problem at all (no rooster, just nice quiet chickens). We would love to come back and spend more time there!

Beautiful and beautifully appointed home. Spacious with lovely kitchen and living room. Quiet and on a small cove with perfect chairs to just sit and read and watch the tide and escape completely. Close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor to feel perfectly located. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Had an awesome time! The view and the space was beautiful, one of the nicest and most welcoming airbnbs I have ever stayed it. A little far from Acadia National Park but the drive was easy and it didn’t feel that long at all due to the sights. Would totally stay here again.

Jamie's lovely home was one of the best Airbnb experiences we've ever had. She sent us a helpful email the week before we arrived ... something that's never happened before in all of our Airbnb stays. She continued to be both responsive and proactive during our time there, and I knew that if anything went wrong she'd be easy to reach. Her recommendations for local dining were spot-on and we appreciated the guidebooks, hiking poles, and well-stocked kitchen. And the house! Well designed and beautifully situated with views of Mount Desert Narrows (and sunsets too). We were there with some of our young adult children and we all had plenty of space with three bedrooms and three full baths. Conveniently located at the top of the island, we could easily get to all parts of Acadia National Park and neighboring coastal towns. It was a short drive to everything we wanted to do, and we also really appreciated the wooded setting's privacy and peace. Thank you, Jamie! A perfect week.

We had a wonderful family stay and created unforgettable memories here. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals to take along to Acadia National Park. The location was peaceful and came with all the amenities needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Peter and Cindi were incredibly kind and went out of their way to assist us early one morning. Their responsiveness and reliability are a true asset to this property.
