It was a rural location which we liked and knew about. Gorgeous stars at night! Rebecca made us feel welcome, gave us advice on touring the area and local trails to run on. Her homemade breakfast was delicious and she even accommodated me as a vegan! Great coffee too. The house is an older house but very spacious and well kept. The rooms were as described.

My wife and I had a lovely stay at the Maple House B&B with Rebecca. She was cheerful and welcoming, and the room was clean, comfortable, and cozy. Breakfast was stellar, and we enjoyed a lovely morning in the Adirondack chairs watching the farm wake up. If you're a dog lover, make sure you meet Jolie!

We come to this Berkshire area for a workshop with Rowe Conference, and this is a perfect location for us: Close to the conference, peaceful and clean place, and a very friendly host. A good value for our stay.

We loved the house and it's quintessential New England charm. The exposed post and beam construction and wide pine floors throughout the house are such a cool addition to complete the look. Rebecca and Mike were perfectly engaging, yet were very aware that there are lots of things to do, so they would get on with the many tasks of the farm, so you could get your adventure started. Greg and I loved the delicious breakfast and we felt like guests at really nice restaurant, because Rebecca took such good care of us. The house was easy to find, in the middle of the night, and we were able to arrive late after visiting MASS MaMO because we were greeted with a personal greeting at the front door and instructions for our delicious breakfast the next morning. Thank you again, you made our weekend!

Rebecca has a lovely inn in beautiful surroundings. I arrived really late the first night of my stay and she made it super easy to get into my room. She was ready in the morning with home cooked breakfast (with eggs from her own chickens!). She came in to chat with us at breakfast and by the end of my stay I felt like I was leaving a friend's house. I definitely recommend this accommodation and plan to stay there again.

Rebecca greeted us with a warm smile and helpful suggestions. We were staying for a retreat and really felt welcomed and cared for. The room was very comfortable, the view was spectacular! The peace and quiet was greatly appreciated since our retreat workshop was intense and ran from early morning to late evening. Our room had a veiw of the pasture behind the house and it was a delight to watch the moon and stars sweep across the fall sky! Just breathtaking. The leaves are changing rapidly and viewing is so beautiful at this spot! Plenty of hiking and nature abounds.

This was a perfect AirBnb experience for us. I only search for places with a real breakfast included and this was the real thing. There's nothing like a hearty home cooked meal early in the morning. Rebecca herself prepares a large choice of healthy home cooking that was so delicious. Local sourced fresh seasonal great food. So worth the price.

Great location for rafting

Bayard's place is really lovely. There's so much character in the schoolhouse and it's going to be an amazing space when he's completed the renovations. The upstairs is currently being worked on, but that truly didn't impede on my comfort or enjoyment during my stay. Bayard is fully accommodating and truly friendly. His two cats and dog are delights as well. This is an excellent recommendation if you're looking to experience a very small town, but still want to be close enough to enjoy North Adams and surrounding areas. I had an excellent stay and I intend to return on a future visit! Thanks again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Bayard at his wonderfully quirky, work-in-progress historic schoolhouse that until his acquisition, had also served as headquarters for the local, now-defunct, paper mill. Bayard’s home mirrors the surrounding countryside, rough around the edges, but clean (the living spaces) and hospitable. I am a fairly well-traveled Mass. native but had never been to Monroe (pop. 107 according to Bayard) and I found the steep, alpine topography wilder and unlike any other part of the state I have experienced – if you want a White Mountains type experience closer to the Greater Boston area (minus the crowds) I would advise a visit. Bayard’s home is yards away from Monroe Bridge/Deerfield River which marks the start of the best white water rafting (up to class IV) in the state. Bayard is rightly proud of the massive renovation project he is undertaking on his building so there are areas of the interior that are strewn with tools and equipment although none prove a barrier within the living space. Clean linens and independent climate controls made for a comfortable bedroom. Bayard seemed sensitive to allowing us space, or the chance to partake in an engaging free-wheeling conversation well into the night which was our preference over a walk to the nearby tavern down the block. A nice breakfast of eggs, oatmeal and fruit smoothie greeted us in the morning. Bottom line: unbeatable value in a beautiful, off-the-grid location.

The hospitality Bayard provided was really comforting. The schools location is only a walks away from Kayaking and a short drive to North Adams. The location also has some really stunning scenery.

Bayard was very accommodating to our late arrival and also during our stay. We brought a large dog with us and it worked out very well. We loved that Bayard is renovating this old schoolhouse. The town of Monroe is very quiet, but is perfect for relaxation and close to outdoor activities.

This place was perfect for an overnight stay. The apartment was more spacious than expected and is located in a beautiful area. Melody was extremely friendly and made check-in easy. Overall great experience. Would absolutely stay again if I were travelling through the area.

It's unfortunate that 6 stars aren't possible Insanely cool place, in a quiet slightly out of the way gorgeous setting. We stayed for the 2 nights of 3 day Mass MOCA event, Fresh Grass music fest, happy to be out of town, but close enough for easy access. Bayard was beyond gracious and accommodating, cooked a lovely breakfast, and we met some super cool folks also going to the music. The place is a crazy good deal. We will be back!

Bayard's bnb is a great place for anyone looking for a unique and quiet getaway in the sleepy town of Monroe. It's a great place for paddlers of the Deerfield river to spend a weekend or anyone visiting Berkshire East/Thunder mountain for mountain biking. The accommodations are eclectic in this renovated school house, and it is still being renovated, so be open minded and realize this is a large undertaking for such a massive building. The guest rooms are finished and clean with fresh towels and linens provided. We had a great stay with Bayard and will visit again since the location is ideal for boating , fishing or visiting Mass MOCA in north Adams. Bayard also treated us to a delicious, full breakfast each morning! Well worth the trip.

My mother and I had a very good stay at Bayard, who was an incredibly caring host. He took such time to run us up to a secret "lookout point" from which there was a great view and there was a bit cold in the apartment, he loaned us as just a heater from the neighbor. The house itself is an experience in itself, as it is an old school full of patina and fun furniture. It is in a really beautiful area close to places like Mt. Greylock and Mass Moca, so there is something to do on both rainy and sunny days. And then we can only recommend to come here in the fall and see Fall Foliage - it is nothing less than stunning. And well, so he makes really delicious breakfast!

One of the best Airbnb experiences I have had! Friendly host and a delicious breakfast. Cool cats. Bayard even took us to a scenic outlook of Bear Swamp and the surrounding mountains.

The Dryway Inn is a fantastic converted school house in the sleepy little town of Monroe. Bayard was waiting for us when we arrived to show us the house and give us a few pointers about the town. There is a wonderful little bar across the street, "The Depot Tavern", where we spent our first night trading beers and shots with some of the friendly locals. The next day we ate a nice little brunch in the small Vermont town just 5 miles north up the road, then went 5 miles south to buy some tubes and go tubing down the beautiful Deerfield River. We also drove into town (North Adams) to spend a couple hours at Mass MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art), grab a bite and watch the sun set over the mountains from the second floor of the hilariously kitschy "Golden Eagle Restaurant and Lounge", located on the hairpin turn up the mountain. Next time we plan on doing a little kayaking and zip-lining. The cell phone reception is a little spotty, but that's okay, it was nice to have our heads out of our phones and focused on exploring the abundance of wildlife and nature surrounding us. Bayard is a wonderful host with a great sense of humor and and a head full of interesting knowledge about the area. He made our stay comfortable and relaxed. He's also a hell of a cook. We'll be back for sure.

The apartment is lovely, comfortable and clean, and is outfitted with thoughtful amenities and comforts. The location is great for taking in the sights and outdoor adventures in Western Franklin county, the surrounding Berkshires and Southern VT. With two kids we really appreciated the amount of space the apartment afforded us. We will be back!

We all loved this beautiful and very tastefully decorated apartment! The space is newly renovated and the open concept makes it ideal for hanging out and relaxing (and the big internet-connected TV is an awesome bonus!). Kimberly had freshly baked cookies, homemade lemonade and blueberries from her garden for us when we arrived. We also had free coffee from Rusty Relics downstairs, an antique shop run by Kimberly's husband Todd (definitely worth checking out). I am staying here again if I'm in the area!

Kim's newly renovated place is beautiful, tastefully decorated and well appointed. Country charm with modern amenities. The place is more spacious and nicer that the pictures show. Just a 2 minute drive from Berkshire East. The fresh flowers and raspberries, snacks, bottle water were a nice touch and Kim and Todd are just good down to earth and warm people.

Ben's place was fantastic. It is in such a beautiful location, and the place was clean and accommodating. Ben was also incredibly attentive to anything we needed, but gave us plenty of solitude otherwise. This is also a great place to bring a dog, and ours absolutely loved the area. No hesitations to stay here again.

The place was great. Ben sent us all the info we needed. Very hands off so it felt like we were the only ones there. Quick with all communication. Place was very clean and well stocked.

Our experience was great! Ben welcomed us upon arrival and made sure we were setup to have an awesome weekend, and the unit was as described. There was a nice large lawn for us to use, a fire pit (Ben let us use the wood he had stacked), and porch complete with grill and chiminea. I'd stay here without hesitation next time I'm in the area.

Ben's place was great! Beautiful location near Berkshire East ski mountain tucked away nicely in the woods. It had everything that we needed, very comfortable beds, plenty of space, all of the kitchenware, linens, etc. that we needed. We took advantage of the mountain coaster about a minute up the road at Berkshire East and had a blast! Also the Deerfield river is near by and we were able to take advantage of the access and go kayaking! Great place, just as described, perfect, quiet getaway with great access to outdoor recreation.

After hiking up Mt. Greylock on Thanksgiving day, we were able to come back to a wonderful place to enjoy dinner and time with our children. Ben was very welcoming and hospitable. A great place to stay.

Rebecca and her family were very welcoming and their home is lovely. My 7 yr old son, my husband, and I had such a great time. The breakfast was hearty and beautifully presented. Rebecca's care and effort in this and all details could be felt. The house was full of interesting books and games that kept us happily busy for the two nights we decided to stay in. Add to that, Rowe is a beautiful place and Maple House is just a short hike from a lake where there is boating and miles of trails. Oh, and it's important to add what may have been our favorite part of the whole adventure - their dog, Jolie! We're not even dog people so much and Jolie completely won us over with her amazing ball catching skills and generally super polite friendliness. Sit on the chair outside with a cup of tea and throw sticks for the dog - then you'll know what life is all about. AH, AND - it's a bargain. Thank you for that, also. But, possible

We had a great time at Rebecca's place. The breakfast was otherworldly, providing us with energy to explore the amazing surroundings. We swam several times in the nearby lake, went hiking, visited nearby villages, and the MassMOCA, our reason to come to the area in the first place. The house is beautifully located, with great views of meadows and tree crowns. Quiet nights with perfect views of the stars.

Rowe is beautiful. The house has a charming old New England feel to it and conveniently located near Rowe Camp and Conference Center. My favorite part of the house was the sun room which has a fire place in it. It was lovely to sit and relax by the fire.

One of the best aspects of this BnB are the grounds - it's a beautiful spot with chickens and sheep, quiet and remote. Also, the breakfast was wonderful - local ingredients and so filling! We stayed in room #3 which was as pictured. It is worth noting that this room shares a bathroom with room #4, and also shares a thin wall with the bathroom. It wasn't an issue because we were all respectful of the space, but if you're a light sleeper (like me) you'll wake up whenever someone is using it. This was the perfect location for our trip between NYC and the white mountains. I would recommend it.

Staying at the Maple house was a pleasant experience. It's not often you get a chance to stay at a wonderful bed and breakfast, that was built in the late 1800's with great hosts in a beautiful quite area, and have HOMEMADE breakfast every morning ( my favorite). While taking in the history and enjoying life away from our stressful life I would recommended it to anyone who just wants to get away!!! :)

Heather was very flexible and communicated very promptly with us before we got there. Scott was very cordial and informative with local area tips and also gave us a "guided tour" of the local flora. Our room was very clean and the neighborhood safe and quaint. We enjoyed our morning conversation over coffee along with their four legged friend. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend it to anyone passing through the Berkshires.

This was a beautiful and charming home in a quiet, secluded historic neighborhood. For those looking to escape city life, this is the spot to check out! We had to work and be available during the weekend, so we had to spend most of our time in town "chasing" wifi and cell service.

The Amos Brown farmhouse is a gorgeous building on some beautiful property. We had a fantastic time and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away for a while!

What a wonderful place to stay. This is our go to rental whenever we head to thunder mountain.

Our host Kelly was very responsive to all my questions by email or text before we arrived. It was the middle of winter, and I just wanted to know how the roads were kept, nearest gas station, etc. When we arrived, it was just like she said. It was clean and cozy, with plenty of space for six people and two dogs! The grounds were great to take the dogs out on. I stayed home while the others skied at nearby Mt Snow. I also took a day trip to Brattleboro which was about 45 minutes away. We all enjoyed reading up on the history of the house and reading the guest log book. My only regret is that we forgot to sign it! We all enjoyed an offline winter vacation and highly recommend this airbnb!

Everything was set up perfectly and ready to go- super easy when we arrived in the evening. The house is so charming and the property is stunning! We loved every minute of it.

Our stay at the Brown house was amazing. I would highly recommend it. There was only one full-size bed, the rest were singles which made things a little tricky but we made it work. And the beds are all authentic looking which we did care about. The house was spacious and charming just like the area. Kelly was a great host through her communication. I think it may be mentioned in other reviews but... I assumed I would have signal or that my GPS would at least work all the way there but it did not and we all got lost so check the route the old fashioned way before you go. More fun that way. There is little to no cell service and definitely no data at the house which was a nice way to unwind but you may want to be prepared. There is a house phone which is helpful when you need to be in touch with the world.

The home is a stunning property on a very quiet Vermont road. There is a gorgeous reveal as you approach the property and the excitement only builds as you explore its many rooms. We spent a very relaxing summer weekend taking walks down the dirt road, enjoying the verdant surroundings and visiting the small towns nearby. Despite having historic furniture, the beds were remarkably comfortable. The shower was perfectly warm and the home has a nice cross-breeze to keep it at an ideal temperature.

It was very private but not a good place for children. If you are taller than 6' 2" don't go upstairs. Kitchen was nice but the house needs to be finished before it is rented in the future.

We (two couples) had a terrific stay in Vermont! The house is so much fun to poke around and the barn and the surrounding grounds. Everything was very clean and comfortable throughout the entire house. We had all we needed for cooking breakfast and enjoying our wine & cheese from the nearby, delightful Spoonwood Creamery. We made use of games from the game closet and perused the bookshelves (for local and general information and entertainment). Very easy check in and out. The location is great for exploring that area of Vermont and also just over the border in Mass. One caution in bad weather - we arrive after heavy rain coming from the south and the unpaved road was really terrible (we have a Prius, not a 4 wheel drive). If the weather is bad it's much better to approach from the north.

Jane and Donald are extraordinary people worth getting to know. They were very accommodating during our three night stay. House is brand new and has a beautiful view of the mountains. Would definitely stay again when we visit Williamstown, North Adams or Bennington. Had a great time.

Jane's property is absolutely gorgeous, and the views from the back deck and the Airbnb room are so lovely. Jane, Don, and their pup were all extremely sweet. We appreciated the coffee in the mornings and the clear communication. The property is about a half hour drive to MASS MoCA/North Adams. Definitely recommended.

Such a lovely host! Warm and inviting, the location was as secluded as you can be while being just a short drive to Mass MOCA. Also, a great swimming hole is just down the road! Replete with shady picnic tables and a dock. basic and simple. That's all you need. Soak in the nature and peaceful surroundings. Cheers!
