Matt & Renee gave me a great time visiting Kenyon. We had very nice conversations. The breakfast was great ! The house is very comfortable. Ideal location if you have anything to do at Kenyon.

Russo House is a fantastic place to stay in the Mt. Vernon / Gambier area. Matt and his wife Renee are very friendly and thoughtful. I had some great conversations with them both. When I inquired, Matt took me on a tour of their place. The farm country surroundings are beautiful and quiet. It's also quite near the Kokosing rail-to-trail conversion that provides many miles of scenic flat bicycling or hiking through the countryside. For those visiting Kenyon College, this is very convenient, about 10 minutes away.

The most awesome Cabin you will ever find in OHIO. I mean the view from the patio is so gorgeous you can't believe you are not dreaming! Amy is awesome, she is a great host and a great person. The house has everything you need. Very neat and proper.

I can't tell you how happy we were with this decision. My team and I live our lives out on the road for long stretches of time. When we were having trouble finding a hotel room in Mid Ohio, we opted to give this listing a try. We knew from the moment that we arrived that we had made a great decision. Amy and Jeff were incredibly accommodating, they even made us a welcome sign and homemade cookies! The property is beautiful, with rolling hills and cows and animals everywhere, and the inside offers a panoramic view of the entire idyllic scene. For less than the price of two hotel rooms, we had this expansive apartment all to ourselves. There is a ton of room, a brand new tv to watch, hammocks and porch swings galore to unwind in. Not to mention the greatest dog ever! My one caveat is that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone uncomfortable with mounted deer, as they are ubiquitous here. I give this place a 10/10 on all accounts. Great space, beautiful setting, wonderful hosts. Thanks Amy!

We needed a place to stay near Kenyon College. This was 15 minutes away. We didn't spend much time here mostly just for sleeping. As another reviewer has noted, if taxidermy bothers you you might consider alternatives, but if not, this is a great option.

They are extremely welcoming and great hosts who are around if you need them. Very relaxing and amazing views for the area. It was a little tough to find but once we found it it was smooth sailing. I highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed her for our son's graduation from Kenyon, and I am so upset that we did not know about it the past four years!! Amy was an amazing hostess, and the lodging was perfect. The view is completely serene with cows, chickens, dogs and cats roaming the area. I was there with both my mother and mother-in-law who are both 80 years old, as well as my husband and grown kids, and everyone gives this 5 stars and two thumbs up. Book and enjoy!!

Amy could not have been a more gracious host! The space is fantastic--beautiful landscape, comfortable and clean home, and the perfect getaway spot while also in easy driving distance (about 15 minutes) from Kenyon, which was our purpose for being there. The home was well-stocked, but anything we couldn't find or didn't have, Amy quickly provided. Big thumbs up, we will definitely be back.

Our stay in this spacious two bedroom one bath apartment was comfortable, cozy and relaxing. We were welcomed by our host Amy and she was more than happy to make us comfortable (for ex. building a fire at 9 pm due to a nippy spring evening) and keeping the apartment warm for our late night return (day 2), checking in if we needed anything before our early departure. Everything was perfect and our mantra was - this is so much better than a hotel! Great host, great location (close to Kenyon College that we were visiting) and very comfortable. Highly recommended.

This home had everything we needed. Beds were comfy. Enjoyed the pool table, tv to watch movies and the open concept so while we were cooking we could still talk with the family. Our family had a wonderful time visiting and had plenty of room. Thank you again for hosting! Hope to be back again in the summer.

The home is updated, lovely, and spacious. The large wall of windows and deck bring the outdoors in and add to the ambiance so you don't feel closed in even though you're indoors. Rhonda left us a handwritten welcome note with her number and some tips which was very nice. We felt very safe and comfortable in the neighborhood. The layout of the home is spacious enough for 10 guests to not feel crowded. The pool table was a big hit as was the close proximity to the beautiful lake. Everything we needed was provided and anything we had issue with was quickly resolved. The best part was it was remote enough to feel you were alone, yet close enough to major stores if needed. The driveway is steep, but that seems to be the norm with all the hills, but you can park on the street if too steep for you. I had family from all ages and everyone found something to do. Toys and movies and Netflix were provided as were plenty of paper products and cleaning supplies.

Rhonda was a great host! She was accommodating and easy to communicate with. The cottage is perfect for a few families or small groups looking for a restful weekends away from the city. The location is beautiful and very close to Apple Valley Lake. The house was spacious, clean and full of supplies (dishware, pots and pans, toilet paper, sheets, blankets, pillows, games, etc). I would not hesitate to visit again!

This house was perfect for our trip! Rhonda's communication was always fast and helpful. The amount of beds made the house comfortable for everyone and the pool table and smart tv made were great. Would 100% rent again!

This house is fantastic, the perfect place to hang our hat while visiting Kenyon College. So many bedrooms! And huge conversation/relaxation areas both upstairs and down. It was amazing how much space there is. Rhonda is the perfect hostess! Highly recommend.

What a great house in a great location!

It was a very hot weekend when we visited, the house was cool and welcoming when we arrived! The house is as described if not better. Lots and lots of room to spread out. My boys loved the Xbox, games and the bunk beds. Thank you for having this available to travellers!

Katy was so nice. House looked just like pictured. Very clean and well kept. Only thing is, is if you are going to stay in Apple Valley and have plans to rent a boat to go fishing, please know you won't be able to. You have to be a property owner. So that kind of put a big bummer in our stay. But we made the best of it. But our stay with Katy was great. She is super sweet. Thanks again Katy!

Katy was a fabulous host. We didn't interact much, but that's because everything I would need was already available. Wasn't as private as I thought it would be, neighbors were really close. But the area was very quiet, and beautiful. Was just what I was looking for!!

A little paradise with amazing hosts

Bege's place is very nice, we enjoyed our stay there! The bedroom is large and comfortable, the scenery is wonderful. Lots of trees and birds. Bebe is away from town but it is not too far to go for dinner and a movie, and is perfect for a visit to Kenyon.

Mike and Tricia's lake house was absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of space for our family and the views/outdoor space was perfect. Tricia was so nice kept in contact with us all weekend to make sure everything was going well and there wasn't anything we needed. Would absolutely recommend their lake house to anyone who is looking to get away with their family.

The families who rented Tricia's house for a long weekend were so happy with the accommodations. The house and property were spectacular with comfortable beds and a well-appointed kitchen. Our stay couldn't have been any better. We will be back!

This was a beautiful home and Tricia was so helpful in planning our stay. She left a basket of goodies in the kitchen, soaps in the bathrooms, and plenty of equipment in the kitchen to serve my whole family. Apple Valley lake is a very serene area and Mohican State Park is close by with great hiking! I highly recommend this place if you love to cook and lake side living!

This is a great place for a family getaway. The house is well laid out with ample room for everyone to gather together or get some privacy if you need it. The kitchen was fantastic and there was room for 4 of us to prepare a meal at the same time. Beds were comfortable and the views of the lake were great.

We met with family for a weekend. The goal was to have a nice outdoorsy setting, and this house was perfect. The wood cabin was charming and well equipped. We had everything we needed to cook big a Easter dinner and brunch. The tire swing and hot tub made for great amusement with the nieces and nephews, and older generations. There were ample beds/bedrooms to handle our larger group. And Lisa even supplied firewood. Great place in a great setting, with great communication to boot.

Matt was a wonderful host and very accommodating. Though there was an issue with the water, he acted quickly and was great. He even built us a fire and we hung out with his sons (very adorable). The location is prime, easy access to the waterfall and take advantage of the kayaks! Nothing beats the morning views. Thank you, Matt!

Easy check in, clean cabin, great atmosphere right on the river, hiking, camp fire, float down river in a tube, other campers nearby. Will definitely return.

This cabin is a quiet, serene retreat, surrounding by trees and with a stellar view of the river. Just a short hike away is that lovely waterfall, open to the public but the hike makes you feel like it's part of your own private wilderness. Inside, the cabin is well-appointed, with a full kitchen and dining table, leather sofas, and a comfortable Murphy bed. Matt generously leaves water and soda, which comes in handy as you explore.

Loved this listing as a whole. Area was nice and not too hard to find (Matt was helpful with directions when I called him lost pretty late at night) Pics and description was accurate. Only thing I would suggest is making it known to bring bottled/drinking water. On site water was very sulfery (which I understand since its a rural location and probably a well source) but I wasn't comfortable drinking.

My husband and I booked Marcel's Apple Valley home to explore and hike in Mohican State Park. Marcel's communication, directions, and friendly attitude made our experience delightful. His eclectic home is brimming with travel treasures, cherished antiquities, beloved family mementos and comfortable furnishings. We ate all our meals in the house, cooking dinner each night and enjoying the serenity of Apple Valley. I appreciated all the plants, indoors and out, plus we saw deer and hummingbirds out the backyard. While you can avoid contact with Luther, he is a giant snugglebum! Mohican SP is an incredible gem toward the north; Walmart and Kroger are closeby to the southwest. We also spent a day in Coshocton to hike -- historic Ohio and Erie Canal is quite interesting as well as Roscoe Village. We had everything we desired at Apple Valley and Marcel was just a text away. We are thankful for Marcel's hosting services :)

Lovely house tucked away in an extremely peaceful location, conveniently positioned within 15 minutes of Kenyon College. Marcel went over and above to maximise our experiences and enjoyment in Ohio. Would strongly recommend the house and host and would love to return in the future.

Marcel's home was lovely, and very clean. We had a very enjoyable stay, and would definitely stay at his house if available the next time I am in town.

We thought that the experience lived up to expectations. We were attending our daughter's graduation at Kenyon and it was impossible to get a hotel near Kenyon, so we opted for Marcel's house. The drive to Kenyon was not bad, around 18 minutes, which isn't much worse than if we had stayed in Mt. Vernon. The two rooms we occupied were well appointed and Marcel had left out towels, etc., so that all worked out. He also thoughtfully provided coffee. Marcel was extremely easy to reach during our check in. This was important because we arrived around midnight on Friday night, so we wanted to have all the details worked out in advance. It was a little complicated working out where to find the keys, etc., but he walked us through the process and it all worked out. We think this is a very good option for people who want to visit Kenyon.

Marcel was a wonderful host. He was very accommodating and communication was easy. We arrived later than planned but everything went very smoothly. The listing is accurate and we had access to everything we needed to enjoy a weekend away from home.

A great place suitable for a long or short stay close to Mount Vernon and Kenyon College.

Steve and Connie have set up a very nice (brand new) place studio unit in an independent building near Mount Vernon. It has easy access to Kenyon College, Gambier, and Mt. Vernon. The nice furnishing and details make it perfect for couples or individuals. Enjoy this place for a long stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Loft for our daughter's Kenyon College graduation. Could not have asked for more. Less than 10 minute away from Kenyon. Absolutely perfect for parents visiting Kenyon.

The Loft was a perfect home base for our visit to Kenyon. Easy drive and the accommodations were lovely. Connie and Steve clearly put a lot of thought into their renovation and I couldn't have been more comfortable. Will definitely be back.

Connie and Steve are wonderful, friendly hosts! "Miller's Loft" studio apartment is very well appointed, clean, private and comfortable. The communication with Connie prior to and during our stay was excellent and she was flexible regarding our arrival time. We were the lucky first visitors to their new Airbnb and we hope to return again!

This is the best house to stay in if you are visiting Kenyon. Tight on the edge of csmiad , easy walk to all locations. Plus slightly removed and in a beautiful setting to unwind after a day of campus activities. Easy to entertain. Amazing kitchen. Master suite spacious and well appointed. Beautiful grounds surrounding the house.

Beautiful house in a lovely neighborhood. This was the perfect place for our family to stay in Gambier. All the charm of an old house with every modern amenity you could want.

Susan and Don have a lovely home nestled in a wooded lot at the edge of the Kenyon College campus. For anyone visiting the college it's the perfect location. The house had a great open floor plan and a great kitchen. Easy walk into the center of the college.

Don and Susan have a lovely home that is well cared for and beautifully decorated. The kitchen contained at least one of anything and everything needed to prepare a meal including some of the best cookware made. The home has a nice outdoor space and a screened in porch. The beds were very comfortable with nice crisp new sheets. Everything was the quality you would want in your own home. We will be back.

This is a beautiful home and wonderfully laid out for both comfort and entertaining. Great location for parents visiting Kenyon like ourselves. The house is right on the edge of campus so could walk to everything .Loved the open kitchen/ living room and peaceful back terrace . Also great spacious master bath with huge tub! Super clean and had everything we needed. Loved it.

The house worked out perfectly. Pictures are accurate. My adult children, infant grandchildren, husband and I needed a place to stay for the holidays while visiting my mom in Mt. Vernon. We came in from all different states so it was good to have a home base. There was 5 adults and 2 babies. The house was cozy but had plenty of room. We especially enjoyed the finished basement for hanging out in the evening and family game nights. We only fixed breakfasts and snacks at the house but the kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of dishes and glasses. Although it didn't pertain to our visit it is centrally located. Practically on Kenyon's campus and close to village center.

It's a very nice house in a great location! Unfortunately we weren't able to check in until quite late in the evening and it was a little bit of a rush in the morning to check out! There was no soap or towels in any of the bathrooms. Otherwise the house was wonderfully equipped!

One of the many great things about this house was the location. We were attending a wedding on the campus of Kenyon College, and we enjoyed walking everywhere. From the church to the cute restaurants in the village, to the Athletic Center. We enjoyed evenings on the deck that were peaceful and fresh. All the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. We also loved the baskets of things we may have forgotten (shampoo, q-tips, etc) in the bathrooms. We felt quite at home. Thank you.

We were here to move my daughter in to Kenyon College. This house was perfect. The house is charming, very clean and had everything we needed. Aly and Morgan had all the instructions/information posted on the fridge. They are wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back.

This home is a short 2 - 3 minute drive to the Kenyon campus and athletic center. Couldn't be more convenient for parents / family visiting the campus. The room accomodations were exactly as advertised and very comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversations I had with both Nancy and Dave. They shared a great deal about the local area and I received unexpected insight into Ohio, the Amish community, the farming community and many of the local challenges. Really enjoyed those conversations! The impromptu Sunday morning breakfast was also a winner!

I enjoyed the couple's hospitality and respect of my individual needs.

Nancy provided a clean and comfortable room as well as great company, a walk together through the property, and a ride when I needed it. She and her husband went way above and beyond for me.

I spent a lovely night at Nancy and David's home. Felt right at home, slept great. Their dog is a sweetie too.

Jerry was very friendly. We spent some time chatting in the evening and again the next morning. He is one host you will get a chance to know a bit, if you want. The bedroom and bed itself were comfortable and the house very homey and clean. I felt very comfortable there. Great coffee! The location was perfect and very close to Kenyon College. If my daughter attends, I will probably be seeing a lot of Jerry. :)

Jerry was extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful and also respected our privacy. My daughter and I were on a "college decision" tour that included Kenyon College (Gambier) and Denison University (Granville). The trip, though enjoyable, included a high degree of stress as its purpose was to evaluate and then eliminate options. It was a relief to have a room at Jerry's to unwind, rest and recharge for the next event. Jerry's place is an easy walk to the Kenyon campus and Gambier.

Jerry was very welcoming (but not overly intrusive). He went out of his way to make it work to have an unexpected extra guest (my son). Also, the bed is THE BEST.

It is truly a Great Space in Gambier Ohio. Perfectly located and very convenient. Jerry is an awesome host. We would love to stay there again.
