Family-friendly holiday rentals in Rutland

Wow! Our group of 9 ladies have had the most amazing weekend at this lovely property. We loved the warm welcome from the hosts & very much appreciated the goodies left out for us & helpful instructions. We were lucky to have beautiful sunshine, enabling us to make the most of the wonderful garden. We enjoyed the hot tub, sauna and making s’mores in the hobbit hut, as well as yoga on the lawn & watercolour painting under the apple tree - a truly blissful girls’ weekend! The bunnies & Welly the pig were gorgeous! The house was clean & there was plenty of room for the 9 of us, we barely used the lounge and dining room! We also hired the games barn & it was like having our own little pub & a great evening’s entertainment. We would have loved to have stayed longer & tried out the pizza oven. We enjoyed a long walk including the spooky railway tunnel & a great meal over the road at the pub. We couldn’t have asked for more and would love to return! Thank you Hannah & Noel :)

Puts the glamour into glamping. Very well equipped kitchen, comfortable living space with lovely log fire, warm shower with all the toiletries needed, topped off by snug bedrooms. The ragout on arrival far exceeded our expectations and the breakfast hamper is generous. Hosts are responsive, helpful and locally knowledgeable. Short walk to local pub is ideal with dogs. Wish we had more time to try the pizza oven and hot tub. We are already looking forward to our return visit.

Well what can we say It’s absolutely stunning and the grounds were beautiful. Peaceful location and so relaxing. We took full advantage of the hot tub and the barbecue. Well equipped kitchen and with a nice little touch of a bottle of bubbly in the fridge on our arrival. Dave is a great host and Sammy the dog kept us entertained. Visited the local farm with the Grandson who loved it and had a pub meal at the local pub which was stunning. All in all we’ve had a great stay and would recommend Dave’s place to everyone. We will definitely revisit we loved it that much. Thank You for having us See you soon 😊

We loved our stay at this beautiful lodge! The pictures really don’t do it justice, it’s just on the edge of the property so no one is overlooking you and it felt totally secluded and private. We also enjoyed a few good walks and yummy carvery Sunday lunch at the Foxton Locks pub.

Absolutely perfect venue. Really peaceful and beautiful countryside. Fred and Charlotte responded quickly to every question we had. Would highly recommend visiting for a weekend with friends.

The photos do not do this property justice! The location is stunning and peaceful - Sylvia provided very detailed instructions so it was easy to locate and access. The property itself is beautiful (we thought it was much bigger than it looked on the photos which ia a nice suprise!), its very clean, finished to a very high standard and has all the facilities you could need for a few days away. We have already recommended to friends and family, and looking to return ourselves! As a host Sylvia was very responsive to messages and very helpful. You will not regret booking your stay here 😀

Brilliant stay here, safe, clean & beautiful location. Child & Dog friendly with brilliant dog walks and playground within the grounds. Lovely stay & would highly recommend.

We had such a lovely stay at this Airbnb! The place was so nice clean, cozy, and in beautiful surroundings. Sylvia provided incredibly clear instructions that made everything easy from the moment we booked to check-in, which was seamless thanks to the detailed directions. We had a question about the hot tub and called Ian, he was super friendly and helpful, and got us sorted right away. We also really appreciated the great recommendations for local restaurants and activities, as well as all the helpful info about the property itself. We went on a gorgeous walk nearby and just really enjoyed the peaceful setting. This was such a relaxing and well-organized getaway. Highly recommend!

Beautiful cottage in a lovely area, perfect for a peaceful getaway. Everything you need in the kitchen including jams , marmalade and sauces for the all important fried breakfast ! Will be booking again!

We had a lovely stay at Amanda’s lovely cottage. The place is clean and has everything we need and more, location is great, right next to lots of green space, perfect for an evening stroll. Burghley house is just a few mins drive, well worth the visit. Stamford town centre is just 5-10 mins walk away, with lots of pubs/restaurants/bakery/gift shops etc. We enjoyed our stay very much, thank you.

Absolutely spectacular location and place—one of my all-time favorite Airbnbs. Incredibly quiet and peaceful, yet 10 minutes from town and attractions. Very communicative and helpful host. Hope to stay again next year!

We spent two very comfortable nights at Fennel Folly. It’s in a great location and was very dog friendly. If it had been warmer (although we had gorgeous sunny weather!) would have loved to make more use of the lovely balcony. We will definitely recommend to friends and family who will be visiting such a beautiful area.

Fantastic stay in Stamford. Beautiful location and property was a very simple walk into town. Jane was a very responsive host and also provided a very comprehensive guide to the property and local area. Checking in was a breeze and everything was as described. If you're going to Stamford - and you should, it's beautiful - this property is well worth your time and money.

This was our first Air B&B experience. If Hugh and his Emma are anything to go by as hosts we will always choose this option over any hotel. They helped us out of the way to make us feel at home. We were in-between selling a house thus required a month long place to reside. With the amount of baggage and luggage we could not have stayed anywhere else. The family let us use their shed space and took the burden off us. The entire property is just "wow". Endless green fields with local habitat, horses in barns, pet chickens and beautifully landscaped gardens around the whole palace like estate. A month is a lot of time but the family was very proactive to any queries or requirements. The dwelling itself has a lot of character, Endless paintings and views to die for. Not to mention the collection of multitude of books. The host had provided detailed information pack about anything and everything. We wish them prosperity and happiness in all future endeavours. Hugh do take a break!

Cuckoo Barn Lodge was just perfect for getting together with our family for a celebratory weekend. The large open plan living area suited us really well and the kitchen part of it was spacious and well equipped. A couple of us even sat out on the deck briefly. The bedrooms downstairs were simply furnished but comfortable. We loved the rural location, walking from the property and at Rutland Water and visiting Burghley House. We would definitely return

This place is perfect for a quiet getaway. The hosts are fantastic and the lovely warm pool is great to play in with the kids. You can even go fishing at the end of their garden ( which I took full advantage of!!) or just relax with a glass of wine and sit looking over the river. We look forward to returning next year.

Stephen is amazing, personable, responsive, ready with helpful actionable suggestions if you need them . The place itself is on a beautiful , riverside property, with beautifully maintained garden, swimming pool. It is 10 minutes drive from Peterborough and 25 minutes form Stomford, and has many trails and walks around that you can explore.

My boys and I had a wonderful stay at Barley Cottage. Stephen and Philip are amazing hosts, super friendly, very knowledgeable of the area and great conversation. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and the shower was great. Water Newton is an idyllic little village just a stones throw from Peterborough, but a world away! We loved every minute of our time there.

Sharon’s property is nothing short of exceptional. It was perfect to accommodate our (quiet) hen party, with plenty of comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen and many other rooms to enjoy. The pool area was super clean and very enjoyable in the sunny weather we had. Sharon herself was the most welcoming host we could have hoped for. She gave us an excellent tour of the house and grounds open our arrival, and was always on hand next door for any queries or just a chat if we fancied! She was even kind enough to let us have a late checkout so that we could enjoyed the pool for longer. Thank you so much Sharon x
