Family-friendly holiday rentals in Richmond

This was our second stay and we will def be back. The property is beautiful and peaceful and has gorgeous porch views. The house was cozy and kitchen fully stocked.

We had a great weekend staying at Seth's house! The home is clean, comfortable, and has a lot of amenities that made our stay enjoyable and easy. The home is just blocks away from Chevy Chase, so we had plenty of great food and shopping options within easy walking. UK was close and walkable to explore, too. Seth was proactively communicative and checked in on us while we were there. The heatwave appeared to have put a strain on the A/C unit and Seth ran over just to make sure he did everything he could to address any issues. The whole area is a little bit higher rate than what we're used to spending for Airbnb's, but if you're trying to choose something in the area, we definitely recommend Seth's place!

This was a quintessential RRG stay. A peaceful and secluded setting in the wilderness but with all the amenities to make it comfortable and cozy. Just what we were looking for.

This is my second time staying at one of Amy’s cabins. They are beautifully crafted and super cozy. We loved sitting in the new hot tub and listening to the creek. I couldn’t get the hot water to come on the first night but I stopped by the main house and the maintenance man greeted me and said he would fix it up. It was fixed within the next hour or two before we got back from our hike. I didn’t catch his name but he was very friendly. A couple small additions that would be helpful: An extra towel per person so you can have one for bathing and one for the hot tub. A bedside lamp. Overall, I am very satisfied with my stay and plan to stay at the Red River Gorgeous cabins again in the future!

We came to The Red just to enjoy the outdoors and the sport of climbing. The weather almost made us miss out on the whole week but Jim helped us make the decision of coming anyways. Since he lives close by to give us a better weather and area report. The house provided activities too for the kids. They loved the pool table and hot tub.

We had An amazing time staying at Emily’s! My daughter was out early every morning to say hi to the horses and loved the kitty and dogs visiting too! Beds were comfy!

We had an awesome, relaxing stay at Heavenly Hideaway! The cabin is super private with tons of land to hike and explore. Our dog loved having the freedom to roam safely, and we enjoyed the hot tub, bonfire pit, BBQ grill, and just hanging out on the porch. Waking up to birds and seeing deer everywhere was so peaceful. It’s also not too far from Natural Bridge if you want more adventure. We did run into some ticks outside in the grass and woods, so just something to keep in mind if you’re spending a lot of time outdoors (especially with pets). We had a small water issue, but StayOver handled it fast sending over maintenance. Would definitely come back to unplug and relax!

Our stay here was amazing! We had a very large group (16 people) and the house had plenty of space and very open common spaces for everyone to be together. We were hiking most of the time (this was a convenient location to get to multiple trailheads), but between the hot tub and all of the games, I’m sure you could spend plenty of time in the house. The instructions to get to the house are detailed and easy to follow. The kitchen has lots of pots and pans and grilling utensils, just be sure to bring things like coffee, seasonings, oil, butter, etc. We’d definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. Very neatly landscaped property that was serene. The cabin itself was exactly as described, clean, and great spot to stay in when visiting. We were in town for an event at the Exposition Center and the cabin was around 7 minutes away. Our family would highly recommend.

Julie was a great host and super responsive! Her house was fantastic and the perfect location with being close to the Kentucky Horse Park.

We enjoyed our stay here as we were visiting MSU. Lisa was extremely accommodating and responsive to any questions or needs. Definitely will look to stay here again when we visit. The barn cats are so friendly but respectful of not trying to enter cabin. Enjoyed feeding the horses.

Eric’s Airbnb is just lovely. Everything was immaculate when we arrived. It was a perfect location for me and my family while we attended a family wedding.

Friendly owners. Helpful with all our questions and requests. Fun lodging for the kids! And relaxing for the parents!

Climb on inn apt 1 was great for babies, toddlers and dogs! It reminded me of old school airbnbs where they actually had lots of supplies available (TP, paper towels, ziploc bags, etc). VERY well stocked! The description and pics matched and the day bed even has a trundle bed underneath if you have toddlers. The place had kids toys and coloring books. Really made you feel at home! Deena was responsive and we were even able to check in early! It was a fantastic time.

From booking to the end of our visit this was a great experience and lovely home for what we needed. The kitchen is well stocked with an assortment of cookware and utensils. The water pressure in the showers was wonderful. The various sitting areas in the downstairs allowed people to spread out when needed. Coffee, restaurants, and grocery all with in a 5 minute drive.

We loved staying at Annika’s place during our visit to Kentucky for Keeneland. It reminded us of our historic sorority house, had everything we needed, and kept our men folk occupied in the pool room watching football while we sisters caught up all night! We had the best time! Thank you for having us!

This is a beautiful, historic, and impressive home. Our family took a weekend in the area and greatly enjoyed staying at Barr House Inn. The rooms were large, furnishings elegant, entrance impressive, and the location with a short drive to Lexington was helpful. An added benefit was the swimming pool with a deck and chairs/tables for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. All of the bedrooms, two of the bathrooms, as well as the kitchen were on the second floor, which made it easy for family gatherings. It was a great and enjoyable weekend at this historic home.

John’s condo was gorgeous… beautiful furnishings, very spacious, comfy beds and bedding, plenty of kitchen and bath supplies. Great parking (nice that there were 2 spots for our use), easy access from condo to parking garage. The location could not have been better as we were in Lexington for our son’s UK graduation at Rupp arena. The only negative was the noise from the street but it wasn’t overly bothersome. Would highly recommend!

We stayed here for a weekend in Lexington for a music festival. Very walkable which was so helpful. The place was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. It is in the city so there were some siren/motorcycle noises - bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Would highly recommend this stay to be close to the Red Mile.

A quiet stay in a quiet town. Just the way I prefer it. The backyard was peaceful with the chickens clucking and running out to greet me in the mornings. The check in and check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. Hopefully didn't make too much noise leaving and returning on my motorcycle. The neighborhood is very quiet and I was trying to respect that. The bed was very comfortable and the fan in the room was a lifesaver after being in the sun all day. All in all a very ideal stay for a guest suite. Would definitely stay again if visiting the Lexington area.

Our stay at Julie’s place was absolutely wonderful. The location was private and secluded, offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The kitchen was outstanding, equipped with all the amenities you could need for cooking and entertaining. The property was picture-perfect, with every beautiful landscapes —ideal for capturing memories. We spent quality time with our close friends, but the space is versatile and would easily accommodate larger families as well. It’s a place we have returned to and would love to return to. Highly recommend for a relaxing and picturesque getaway!
