Villa holiday rentals in Rethimnon

We had a wonderful stay at this amazing villa and cannot recommend it enough. Maria was a fantastic host. She arranged our airport taxis and throughout our stay Maria was always on hand - we couldn’t ask for more. The villa was amazing and in an ideal location right on the beach. The pool area was excellent, private and peaceful. Maria also provided sunbeds on the beach where we enjoyed beautiful sunsets. There are many local tavernas within walking distance - we epecially recommend the Mareem & Finikas Tavernas. We also went to the old town one evening which cost 14 euros in a taxi and it’s well worth a visit as it’s really pretty with a great atmosphere. It is mainly pedestrian with lovely side streets to exlore and there is a real buzz in the evenings along the waterfront where there are great places to eat, or simply sit and people watch. Maria gave us a late check out at no extra cost which was so kind. We cannot recommend Maria and her villa enough and hope to return!

We had a great vacation in the house. It was all clean and tidy. The pool is amazing and the yard is indulgent. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. The service was more outstanding. We had a perfect vacation for us. I highly recommend the house and hope to stay again.

This place is a treasure. The views from the living room and kitchen are spectacular. The house has many clever features that are well designed. The area around Almyrida is fun to explore--go down to the beach or on a hike along the coast. Almyrida is a cute beach town, very welcoming. And we did several further from the town adventures. We had no idea that Crete has so much to offer--pottery in Margarites, beautiful beaches, intense hikes, exceptional museums, exploring Hania's historic streets. The property management team were wonderful to interact with. We felt so fortunate to find such a gem. Thank you!!! We sure hope we can return.

Absolute 5* property and host ! Cant recommend this property enough! Absolutely stunning upon arrival, the property exceeded our expectations even from the pictures ! Alexios is a fantastic host, made us feel welcome straight away and showed us all the details on the property, his local Taverna recommendations were great too ! Provided us with a lovely welcome basket with Local olive oil and wines etc. We couldn’t fault the property at all, stunning design and finishes, absolutely everything you would want for a stay in beautiful Crete. Wished we could have stayed longer in Alexios property, you cant get bored of sitting on the roof terrace or in the pool looking at that view! Some local Tavernas within walking distance that are very nice and worth a visit. Highly recommend this property and Alexios as a host ! We will be back to stay again for sure. 5*

We had an amazing time staying at this beautiful house! The space was exactly as described—stylish, comfortable, and well-kept. Our host was extremely responsive and incredibly helpful throughout the stay, always quick to answer any questions and offer assistance when needed. There was an unfortunate sewage smell that made things a bit unpleasant for one day, but the host was very supportive, provided helpful advice right away, and did everything possible to address the issue. We really appreciated the quick and caring response. The host was also very welcoming and flexible, even accommodating us with a later checkout, which made our departure much easier. The housekeeper was absolutely lovely—so kind and warm to us, which added a really personal touch to the stay. Despite the minor hiccup, we truly had a fantastic time and would happily stay again!

Vagelis was a wonderful host. He directed us to a parking lot close to the villa. He met us and helped us with our bags. We loved the villa. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning was great. The villa is beautifully designed with great furnishings and a lovely, peaceful courtyard. We loved how it was in the heart of the old city, yet super peaceful. Would stay here again in the future, no question.

The villa was beautiful, it exceeded our expectations. We really enjoyed having an en-suite for every room. Mia couldn’t have been more helpful, she was very proactive in ensuring we had a great trip. We felt so well looked after when we arrived there was lovely food and wine in the fridge. She really went above and beyond to accommodate us. We loved the location, right in the heart of the old town - so many wonderful tavernas within a short walk. And having a pool in that location was such a treat. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. Incredible stay, stunning villa, lovely to walk into the little town, and a brand new restaurant opened called ‘Dusk’ a few minutes walk away which was 11/10. We adored the hot tub, luxury, all the little touches. Juicer for fresh orange juice and funky toaster. Thank you Crete is exquisite 💖💖💖

We had an incredible stay with our family. The photos do not do it justice. It’s so beautiful and so peaceful. There were many lovely welcome food and drinks that we really appreciated. We had many activities and family in the area so we were out and about but were always looking forward to coming back to enjoy the house, the pool, and the gorgeous view. We also loved the hot tub when we got a little chilled from swimming since it was a bit early in season. We made sure to have a day to just do that. We used the indoor/outdoor theatre one night and that was really fun. All the rooms and the kitchen were perfectly appointed. Everything was so well thought out. We can’t wait to come again and stay longer and have time to use the outdoor kitchen, the gorgeous dining room and enjoy the beautiful pool and view again. Our stay at Villa Castellum was amazing! The villa is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. The hammam added an extra touch of luxury and made our stay even more relaxing. We stayed here for a family vacation, and it was just what we needed. The beach and the village are only a 10-minute drive away. The house had everything we needed—nothing was missing, and everything was thoughtfully provided. Maria was incredibly kind and helpful—she responded quickly to all our questions and made our stay truly enjoyable. Thank you, and we will definitely come back!

We stayed for 1 week (4adults and 4 kids) having been to Crete a number of times before. The villa was up in the hills (you need to hire a car to get anywhere and driving on the small lanes is not for the faint hearted) but this gave us the beautiful views over the bay and a lovely sea breeze. The house was immaculate with all the essentials and mod cons including chilled filtered water from the fridge. The ice machine didn’t work so one of the team popped around with a big bag of ice the next day which we used instead. We also experienced a sandstorm (happens about once a year) with Saharan sand being deposited on everything. The cleaners were around the next morning and the pool was cleaned beautifully. The pool itself was heated to a lovely temperature so the kids could enjoy it all day and the hot tub was even warmer so the perfect place to sit and enjoy drinks. We used the outdoor built in barbecue and sat outside for dinners (great views). Karolina was very responsive! Recommend!

Can’t say enough positive things about Anna and Costa’s villa. We had an amazing stay. The villa was clean, spacious and in excellent condition - just like the photos. The pool was fab. Anna & Costa’s local recommendations were great. The whole family enjoyed the trip - thank you so much!

Awesome villa in a great location with plenty to keep the family entertained. Easy 15-20min walk to the beach/Baja beach club, 10min walk to the local mini market (or 3min in the car) Heated pool was a massive bonus staying outside of summer. Maria was great host with a lovely welcome package, we’ll be booking for next year!

Fantastic stay! The villa had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the pool was absolutely amazing. I stayed here with my brother, and we especially appreciated the peace and quiet, along with the great location. Being so close to Rethymno made it a perfect base for sightseeing around the island. Manolis, our host, was always available and gave us excellent tips for local restaurants and attractions, which we really enjoyed. Each morning, fresh bread was delivered, so we didn't have to rush to the bakery. The fridge was also stocked with cold drinks upon arrival, which was a lovely touch. If our travel plans bring us back to the area, we would definitely book this accommodation again. Highly recommend!

What a sweet, friendly people. We received a warm welcome and an extensive explanation of the house. The host responded directly to our questions and also came up with an alternative program because it was unfortunately raining for a few days. Absolutely recommended if you want to enjoy comfort. The location - a dream. the view - unbeatable. The house cut for 3 pairs - ideal. the architecture - really appealing. and problems (sandstorm) were immediately addressed and resolved! we have recovered super, and can really recommend this accommodation!

We stayed in the Hercule villa for 5 days and everything was perfect. The house is beautiful and extremely clean. Everything is well thought out, the hosts were able to welcome us with small touches that are very important. The accommodation is in a great location close to Rethymno 15min. The accommodation is quiet and pleasant. The exterior is very well maintained. We recommend it if you want a successful vacation, this is the place for you! Thank you for an amazing experience.

Fantastic great house with a lovely terrace and a lovely view. Our two young children loved the pool. The house and location were even better than the pictures. It was a short distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and it was nice to be able to barbecue outside in the evenings. Highly recommended!

this is a great Villa to stay at in central Crete that made it easy to branch off to many other areas of the island the best part was the Villa itself with its swimming pool and the views. great place to stay close to the small village of margarite. highly recommend it's got to be one of the best places to stay in all of Crete. Michalis was a great representing host.

This was our best stay ever with airbnb, and the most beautiful in Greece. The house exceeded our expectations. The locations is awesome. The house is comfortable, spacious, modern, spotless and beautiful. The open views to the ocean are breathtaking in addition to being high above in the mountains. He outdoor terraces aremazibgand the pool iswesome withazing views. This house can easily accomodate 6 persons. Parking is easy for two cars. The place feels secure and very private. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. Located between Rethymo and Chania we felt the location was perfect. We lived every detail provided to us. The hosts were great communicating with us, greeting us and providing all kinds of reccomendations to us. They greeted us with some very nice presents, foid and wine. If you plan to visit Crete this is the pkace to be. If you want an unforgetable stay this is the place to be! We lived every minute of our stay and there are not enough words to Thank our hosts!

Our stay at the Areal Villa was equisite. The house itself is fully fitted and housed us 10 very well. The rooms are nice and the outdoor space was fantastic. The location was also great, short walk to a nearby bakery, shop and butchers, and only a 5 min taxi ride into the city center. The host and his team were also very responsive and helpful giving recommendations on restaurants and shops that we requested. Overall our stay at the villa exeeded our expections, and we would defentently stay there again if we were travilling to Rethynmo in the future.
