Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Portland

This is really for someone who appreciate small details of the place(decor and so on). Within walking distance to basic necessities. Reasonable Uber fares to all places(Airport, Train Station, Old Port, Maine Mall).

We had a great stay at Diane and Joe’s place—it was exactly as described and exceptionally clean. We decided to arrive a day early, and Diane was kind enough to accommodate us without hesitation. She was consistently responsive and pleasant throughout our stay. The Reno Barn itself is charming and comfortable. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the back deck, which has cozy seating and an umbrella for shade—a perfect spot to unwind. While the spiral staircase to the loft and second bedroom might be a bit tricky for some, it wasn’t an issue for us. The master bedroom on the lower level was very comfortable, and we appreciated the generous supply of sheets, towels, and blankets. While the location isn’t walkable, it offers easy access to both downtown Portland and the airport, each just a 15-minute drive away. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend this place to others. We’d be happy to stay here again the next time we’re in the Portland area.

My wife, myself and our pup loved our time at Christine’s. Thought it was a great value for the area and we appreciated how many little extras were included (snacks, beer, wine, seltzer, toiletries). Location is great for walks to East Prom or Old Port, and parking is a breeze with the dedicated driveway. It is a cozy fit if you’re a bigger person (I’m 6’ and I had just a few inches of clearance from the ceiling).

This cozy yet spacious cottage by the sea was so well appointed and peaceful. We went with another couple and both of our rooms faced the sea so we all got to hear the waves when we retreated to our rooms at night. Lisa was easy to communicate with and very helpful! If we ever get back to Peaks Island….we would definitely stay here!! Thank you Lisa!

We loved our time staying here, the house was beautiful and just as described/ seen in the pictures. Randy was a great host and always very responsive with some great local recommendations. Would definitely love to return!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marcia's lovely home! It was decorated super cute, was exceptionally clean, well equipped with anything and everything we needed, and felt very homey. She was very responsive and easy going. We were so comfortable - I slepted in both mornings until 9am! It was also nice to be able to have the option to check in at 3pm (most places are 4pm) and check out at 11am (rather than 10am). Lisbon is a darling little town - like a little Hallmark town. I spent a lot of time at the Little River coffee shop on Union St - great place to get coffee, a delicious homemade pastry and I was able to get a lot of writing done. I also got my tattoo brightened up at Align right next door to the coffee shop! I will definitely come back to the area and will book with Marcia. It was a great stay and I highly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment. Michael was a fantastic host, very responsive, and made some great local recommendations. The apartment was very comfortable, spotless, and even had a bowl of fruit in the kitchen for guests. Michael went the extra mile which helped me feel right at home during my stay!

We absolutely loved our stay. This was our first time in Portland and coming back to this unit after a full day of activities felt like we were right at home. Lucie has truly made this unit so warm and inviting with great attention to detail. The location itself is also great, not too far from the city to drive but not too close either. Thanks again!

Such a charming and pretty place to stay in Portland for a long weekend- Beautifully decorated and lovely touches throughout inside and outside. Great location which was walkable to wonderful restaurants (Eventide and The Front Room were delicious). Also easy drives to numerous hikes in the area which we loved. So glad we found it for Memorial Day weekend!

The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. It was quiet and comfortable. We would definitely go there again if we return to Portland.

The air bnb was very cozy and cute, just like the pictures. Great location, close to a lot of restaurants and attractions. The host was very attentive and communicative. Only thing was that the hot/cold water takes a while to get to the range you want it to in the shower but everything else was superb! Would definitely recommend and stay again!

We stayed here for a short trip through Maine — the listing was as described and Kimberly was friendly and easy to communicate with. We appreciated how well stocked the apartment was, including with a few snacks and drinks. Location was within walking distance to a couple of great bakeries (Tandem and Zu) and restaurants (Canteen Calafia). As a note, this apartment is located on the first floor of an older building, so you may hear footsteps from the upstairs tenants. This was not an issue for us, and there were earplugs available. The bathroom is rather small (as described in the listing), but my partner, who is larger, didn’t have any issues.

We were very happy with the quiet neighborhood. The house was spacious, clean and welcoming. Parking off street was a plus. We will definitely revisit this Airbnb.

Great place to stay if you want to be close to downtown but with a larger, comfortable space. The place is exactly as described, exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated. No dollar store products here! The ground coffee and half and half really made it feel like we were staying at a friend’s home.

The condo was perfect! Very clean, neat, cute decor. I loved the box of dog supplies that the host left. The condo was also in a GREAT area, walkable to bars, restaurants, coffee shops, stores. The host, Jason was friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return to Portland and stay in this condo again.

Extremely clean and great location. It is located on second floor. If you have trouble with stairs, there is no elevator. Host provided clear instructions on check in and check out. She doesn’t require us to take out the garbage! !! She quickly responded to our questions and provided a great tourist book. Shower is amazing…I won’t spoil the surprise so book if you can!

We only had two nights at Dave’s place but wish we could’ve stayed longer. The decor was great and matched the Maine vibe while it also had all the modern amenities an Airbnb needs. Only ten minutes into the centre of Portland and very close to the beach as well. We didn’t use the kitchen but it seemed to be fully stocked. The washer and dryer were also very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend!

Marlene’s place was as described and was perfect for our weekend trip for the Old Port Half Marathon. This was a short 1 min walk to the starting area. The place itself was thoroughly clean and came equipped with all the necessary amenities (AC working well). Marlene was super helpful with check in and making sure we had what we needed. The only issue we noticed was the noise from people leaving bars late at night and occasional car alarms from the parking garage adjacent to the windows.
