Monthly Rentals in Pleasant Bay

Thanks for Janelle's amazing hospitality and her Shoreline Shed, I brought a piece of Cheticamp home with me to Maine. The location itself is gorgeous - right on the ocean, facing an island, and behind, the wilderness of the mountains. It's in downtown, so everything is just steps away. I was especially touched by Janelle's friendly communication even months before I arrived, when I booked the trip. After a very long drive to the Shoreline Shed, I was greeted with a box from a local bakery (the best donut and cinnamon roll ever) and a thoughtful handwritten welcome from Janelle. The space was clean, well thought out, and cozy. There's no Roku/Netflix, but there is a TV with plenty of channels to watch. The kitchen is very small, but workable. While I explored Cape Breton, this place was the perfect landing pad and I spent a wonderful four days here. It was difficult to leave, because I wanted to stay!

Fantastic place! Everything was as advertised and then some. Rita was super friendly and had some good pointers for our stay. We were only there for one night, but would have loved to stay longer!

We just returned from 10 days at Ocean Hideaway in Pleasant Bay. This place is just magical. It sits on a cliff overlooking a vast bay of water where we often saw whales, seals, and dolphins. The sunsets were spectacular every evening! The house is just off the main road but completely secluded, quiet and inviting. Daniel provides all sorts of personal touches from a coffee bar complete with an assortment of syrups, caramels, mini marshmallows ,and chocolates; to extra thoughtful amenities like tooth brushes and tooth paste. The kitchen is a fun space to prepare anything from morning coffees to full blown dinners. We wish we never had to leave!

Melina's place was pretty much as advertised. She was very responsive whenever we had a question. The nearby path down to the river is very much a work in progress, so it's somewhat hazardous. The walk to the beach (which is quite rocky) is challenging. The place is certainly rustic and off the beaten track, so you definitely need to want that kind of experience to choose it. We were disappointed in the nearby Pleasant Bay restaurants so we drove to Cheticamp for better options for dinners. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at Melina's place.
