Holiday rentals with lake access in Payne Springs

John was a great host! Extremely helpful and responsive. House was beautiful and loved the location. The water access was truly amazing. It rained 3 of our 7 days, so that was unfortunate, but we took our kids to Dallas to do some fun things which wasn’t too far of a drive! Only things to note that were annoying was the AC was controlled/set to specific ranges because of past guests altering it beyond acceptable ranges or breaking it. As I understand John’s concern, that was kind of annoying. We asked him to lower the setting and he did, so that helped, but even then…the AC would revert back to the previous setting and it would be too hot in some of the rooms. Some of the kitchen items like extra trash bags I could not locate and the soap that was provided was hand soap, not dish soap. I asked John if he had these items at the house so I could clean up and he ended up having them delivered to the house! Very response and helpful host! Beautiful location and we would stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful 3-bedroom beach house at 401 Admiral Drive in Gun Barrel City, TX. The property is perfect for a family getaway — our group of 10 stayed comfortably for two days and had an amazing experience. The house was clean, well-maintained, and had everything in great working condition. The backyard is truly a highlight — spacious and peaceful with direct access to the water, a fishing dock, and a beach volleyball setup. We also enjoyed water sports right from the property, which made it even more special. The owner, Shinu, was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. You can tell they really care about the guest experience. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun, and family-friendly escape. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Great vacation! The pool is much larger than appears in the photos - our family of 4 enjoyed it very much several times. Right on the lake with lots to do - canoes provided. We had a lovely time and will definitely remember this location for future Gun Barrel City vacations. Highly recommended.

The house is amazing but the back patio is the real show stopper! We were able to cook all weekend and really appreciated how stocked the kitchen was with utensils and other items to make it easy. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway.

What a beautiful and restful place!! Perfect for a weekend getaway as we begin celebrations for my daughter’s wedding! Everything was just pristine and so comfortable—and the home is just such a beautiful layout! We will be back for sure!

Gorgeous view! Whether out on the big porch, snuggled on the couch, in the kitchen, or at the dining table we enjoyed the soothing view of the lake. Enjoyed a lot of quiet time on the sofa reading & being able to glance up at the lake view, watching the family enjoy fishing & kayaking. We loved sitting on the dock watching sunrise & sunset over the lake. The porch, with the lake view & lush yard full of trees, was a gathering spot for talking & laughing while relaxing with our coffee or drinks. A spacious kitchen stocked with cooking equipment & dishes. Close by grocery stores & Walmart so we could get anything we needed. Easily accommodated our family with plenty of well furnished and comfy rooms, cozy beds & very good AC to keep us cool. The master suite was so comfortable, with a shower & HUGE tub! Great access to tv streaming, DVD’s, books, board games, with several places to snuggle in to watch/read. Ideal lake house for our family vacation. Had the best time!

Clay's place was great for our family of 10, and he was helpful in directing us to boat rentals. There was a plumbing problem our first morning, but Clay was able to get a plumber out to the house fairly quickly. Oddly enough, we realized we've stayed at this residence several years ago. It is much nicer since Clay took over and renovated the home. We would stay here again.

Beautiful property, a lot of outdoor spaces overlooking lake. Host was always available, very responsive. I will definitely like to rent again.

Great Airbnb!! It was super cozy, lake was beautiful, private and safe. We were pulling up to the area and neighbors were waving at us, Kelley was super nice too, bed was comfy, kitchen had enough supplies but I wouldn’t recommend to cook anything too elaborate due to the space. We tried to cook some pasta but smoke detector would beep every time we’d open the oven so don’t get scared. Also, make sure you buy enough water, food and anything that you might need since closest town is Corsicana about 20 minutes away and you can easily go to the HEB or Dollar Store over there. Washer and dryer were on point and useful. Very clean, bathroom was big enough! Sunset was beautiful. It’s a really nice place to stay away from the city for couple days and detox! We had a wonderful time and loved this spot so much! Kristi was amazing with any questions and the house was fully stocked with whatever we needed. Outside the lake was wonderful with kayaks and rafts to keep you busy for days. We will definitely be booking again. We enjoyed every minute of it!

Perfect place foir family to watch the eclipse. Used the kayaks and enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. It was especially great that he did NOT change the rate just for the eclipse.

The lakehouse was the perfect backdrop to our much-needes family weekend. This home has everything you need, in the perfect setting with close access to lots of area attractions. We loved every second and didn't want to leave. Thanks Santiagos for everything!

Great place, good area, and good neighbors. The only question I had unanswered from reading the previous reviews was the fishing area and quality. I didn’t see much info and had to make an educated guess… although I’m sure I could have just as easily asked the owners. The fishing was great. Good dock and my son and I fished at day and night ( bring an underwater light) and we caught a lot. Crappie, sand and striped bass, and catfish. The Dock restaurant near by is really good. We enjoyed it and will look for this place first for the next trip.
