Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay at Lupine Landing. It was wonderful to be right on the water, especially with access to a beach and kayaks. The house was perfect for the two of us and our small dog, and had everything we needed: pantry staples, beach towels, sunscreen. The bathrooms seemed to have been recently updated which was also a great surprise. We would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to our next trip to LDI!

We loved staying here and would definitely return. The house is easily walkable to the Main Street or the other side of the harbor. Bed is super comfy. Plenty of room to relax after long days traveling and exploring. This was a great home base for us.

The home was immaculate and met all of our needs. The location was close to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. The host was great in responding quickly to any questions we had. I would stay there again. We had a great time!

Our stay was calm, comfortable, peaceful, beautiful. The home has gorgeous scenic views from all the large windows in about every room. We experienced all the comforts of home. The house is well stocked for all our needs in kitchen and elsewhere. Our hosts were very helpful and responsive. Give it a try, and you will not be disappointed. 😊

The cottage was beautiful, I loved the artwork and light fixtures. The small details made Babettes home lovely and peaceful. I enjoyed watching the deer in the back meadow in the evenings and was most appreciative that my pup was welcomed there as well. I highly recommend if you tee looking for a quite get away

Beautiful and peaceful location! While off MDI, it was still very easy to access Acadia National Park and was a convenient location overall. Wonderful views out the windows, sliders, decks, etc. The area by the water was lovely as well. As we were staying with our baby, it was so helpful to have some provided baby items—a pack and play, high chair, and a baby gate (though we didn’t us the latter)—in addition to typical items (bed linens, towels, a wide variety of kitchen essentials, etc.) Robard was an excellent host, providing lots of information before the stay and responding promptly during our stay. We couldn’t get a window to lock (user error on our part) and Robard quickly came to check it out. He arrived just as we figured it out, but was very kind about the inconvenience, and chatted with us about the area and clamming by the water.

This was a nice peaceful place to stay. Bedrooms, sitting areas inside and out were comfortable. Our beds were comfortable with pillows we liked and extra quilting for the cool nights. We were excited to see the eagles in their nest but only saw them the first day. They had other things to do! As an 80 year old, I was glad to have my Son in law’s assistance getting the luggage up and down the outside stairs. Bathroom with nice shower was great. It was about 20 minutes to Thomaston where we ate some breakfasts and not far from Rockland and other neat places to visit and eat out. The Olson House was about 15 minutes away and we enjoyed wandering around the grounds.

By far the best home away from home that any of us have ever stayed at. Better than the photos. Cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. Can’t say enough. I am so glad we booked Mark’s place for our Christmas vacation, it was definitely one to be remembered.

An absolute dream of a stay! The pictures and description do not do this house justice. My friends and I were in awe when we opened the door. You could tell that every section of the house had the thought put into the comfort of whoever stays in the house. My friends and I were visiting Acadia but decided to stay a little further out in Brooklin. The drive to Acadia isn't bad...it's about 50 minutes to an hour to get to the visitor's center. We didn't mind driving. The view from the house was great in the morning. I slept with the blinds open to be awaken by the beauty of the view. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast and coffee before we headed out for the day. The bathrooms were huge and very clean. There is a catwalk that connects the two top bedrooms...SO COOL! Jen and Steve messaged me many recommendations in the area. I had a question about an area to explore and Jen and Steve responded within minutes with great suggestions. This is a dream house!

Amazing place, even better than my wife and I expected. Great location on the lake, peaceful, but not completely removed to the point of inconvienent to see other things. Easy drive to get food/groceries or to Acadia NP, but also, the place is so pleasant you don't want to leave :) The lovely chickens greeting us was an added bonus, they were fun to feed and play with but also never a problem at all (no rooster, just nice quiet chickens). We would love to come back and spend more time there!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Schooner. The house is in the middle of town, across from the harbor. Beautiful views and gardens. The house was exceptionally well appointed. Susan was very welcoming and friendly. If we need a place to stay in Stonington again, we would definitely like to stay there.

We just completed our second summer and are still in awe of everything this property has to offer. From the amenities inside to water accessibility, access to many fabulous restaurants, and complete silence from every corner of the property, this house on this island gives you everything you could ever hope for in a summer retreat. George is a fantastic host, extremely responsive, and always willing to help. The property is well-kept, and the house is clean and full of additional supplies. You can't look for much more than what this property offers.

We absolutely loved our 5 day stay! Perfect in every way. Rich is so responsive and we honestly felt so comfortable and really did not want to go home to our real home! The location is so peaceful. A perfect get-away for us as two newly retired folks. We are already excited to plan another visit!
