Family home and authentic farmhouse where traditional French, quirky ornaments and modern features combine to create a unique home. Situated in a small village on the edge of the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan, at the heart of the Bourgogne region, there is much to do alongside the innate charm of ‘just being there’. Water based recreation nearby, from tranquil on the Cure at Saint-Père, to whitewater rafting on the Chalaux as reflected in the 1940s mounted canoe frame in the living room.

The old village school

The old school/schoolmaster's house is on the edge of a tiny village where there's no shop, no café, so you’ll need a car. It's very rural here, with views across the gently undulating countryside from the school. Two small towns with supermarkets - La Machine and Cercy-la-Tour, are both about 11 kilometres away. Decize, a much larger town on the Loire, is about 18 km away. There are two double bedrooms, and another small one with a triple-layer bunk bed suitable for children.

Comfortable cottage 2 hours from Paris, south of Puisaye and 20 minutes from the medieval site of Guédelon, the castle of St Fargeau and its historical shows, the Colette museum in St-Sauveur as well as the vineyards of Pouilly, Sancerre, Ménetou-salon, It is in a hamlet near the village of Perroy, 5 km from Donzy and its shops and 20 km from Cosne-sur-Loire that we have set up this independent cottage, with its private garden in an old farmhouse of the 18th and 19th centuries.
