Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Mills River

Smithson provided a very comfortable cottage for our family to stay for the weekend. He was a wonderful host and very helpful with everything we needed. We would recommend his cottage for anyone visiting Asheville!

We absolutely loved staying at April’s place! We brought our 2 kids and 2 dogs and everyone had more than enough space. The view is beautiful, the house couldn’t have been cleaner, and April was so responsive to messages. We will for sure be back!!

Absolutely delightful and classy space. Very luxurious and lots of tasteful details relevant to the locale, such as a framed map of the Blue Ridge Parkway and a copy of Grandma Gatewood's Walk. Check out procedure was very smooth and effortless.

We came to Vincent’s countryside Airbnb and with our 2 and 4 year old girls. It’s so beautiful and they’ve upgraded some of the furniture since the pictures were taken, e.g., the kitchen table. I wish I could have read all day on the wrap around porch while viewing the surroundings. The girls loved watching the cows graze on the grass. For those with little ones, we’d recommend the Park at Flat Rock (huge park with bathrooms, a fun playground, and lots of walking paths). We’d also recommend The Arboretum, which was a pretty place to walk around. Lastly, Sierra Nevada Restaurant and Tap Room is great for all ages. There’s play areas for kids, which made it a top notch place for us. Back to Vincent’s place, it was so homey and had comfy beds. We can’t wait to come back!

I really loved staying in Liz’s cottage. It was so peaceful and private. A perfect home base for our girl’s trip to the North Carolina mountains. The little stream that runs behind the cottage was one of our favorite parts. A great place to have some quiet time in the morning. Liz was also so responsive and helpful to the questions that I had. I cannot recommend enough.

we loved this little house! it was perfectly located between Brevard & Hendersonville. the neighborhood felt safe for us. (2 elderly sisters) The beds were very comfortable. and the house was stocked with everything we needed. and given the opportunity, we'd stay here again. Jerica was a wonderful host and very quick to respond to any questions I had. Highly recommend. this sweet little house!

To say this spot was a gem is an understatement. I have stayed in places that have cost 3x this much in far more exotic places that didnt come close to the accomadating and kind nature of these 2 hosts. The home was beautifully clean and well kept and the garage was such a bonus for my situation of why i was there. I will make it a point to book with them whenever i am in the area even if im farther away.

I very rarely give 5 stars for a property, as most hosts these days have no attention to detail. Lisa's place is the exception! The house was clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked. The deck, firepit (with firewood), and bike storage are great features. This house would be ideal for a family of four or five, but it would probably be tight for two families given that the bedrooms are small.

We stayed at the Glenna for a mini honeymoon with two pups and loved it. It's in a secluded area with a few neighbors, which is exactly what we wanted. An short and easy drive to Asheville, but we found we enjoyed visiting the Arden/Fletcher area as well for food and hikes. The drive up to the cabin is beautiful with plenty of twisty curves as you would expect in the mountains, but a very enjoyable drive. (As of May 2025 the directions may mislead you due to a road closure, you'll go through it just a bit to turn in front of a very beautiful white church with a creek in front of it.) We spent most nights outside with a fire by the creek making smores or enjoying the quiet nature. Our dogs loved sniffing about everywhere they could find, especially our nightly walks around the property. We had a power outage and Larry was nice enough to stop by and drop some lights for us and Courtney left us some beautiful Asheville mugs. A wonderful cabin and area, we would definitely visit again!

We loved our stay here! The studio was just as advertised and easy to find. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed to do our own cooking for the week. They provided enough soap and such for us to get started and we only really had to bring more toilet paper. Otherwise everything was there that we needed. We loved the games that they had there for us to use and the snacks were perfect too. We will definitely be looking at staying here again.

Our family felt right at home at Michael's A-frame. My husband commented that it felt as though we had stayed there before, and it really had. It has every amenity and creature comfort you could want or need, including a nicely stocked spice cabinet, plenty of linens, board games and puzzles, and a place to do laundry. Michael was friendly and helpful. Our family had an awesome time, and we hope to be back to enjoy the property in the summer months!

Our mission team was in the area working with Hammer and Heart. We stayed at this house based on location, number it could sleep and the neighborhood. Checkin was extremely easy, house was easy to find. While there, the A/C broke. Nothing that anyone could foresee. Amanda was responsive by immediately hopping into action by sending fans to try to cool the house until the HVAC person could get there to fix. Amanda stayed on top of the problem until she knew the A/C was fixed. Thanks for the hospitality of sharing your house so we could help people in the area.

We had the best short stay at Suzanne’s for the horseshow. Her home is beautiful and we were lucky to experience it. Wonderful host (and restaurant) to top it all off!

This was our second stay we have stayed on both sides of the Airbnb and we absolutely loved them both it was peaceful and relaxing just what we needed 😊

It was lovely, the communications with the manager were perfect and we enjoyed our stay there very much. Linens could use a little refreshing, however.

This place is very comfortable. I was looking for a relaxing and quiet retreat. This was it. Even though it is next to the hosts house they gave me my space. In fact I never even saw them. The tub is amazing and the kitchen is well appointed. Top score. IF you are thinking of staying here you should.

The waterfall cottage was BEYOND what we could have imagined for our family. From the moment we pulled into the driveway we were saying “wow”! The property and waterfalls were beautiful and serene and our boys loved playing in the creek and running around in the field. The cottage itself is immaculately kept and had everything we needed. Our family was so comfortable during our stay. Nancy went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and is a fantastic host. We can’t wait to come back!

Very clean and comfortable home. The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens I have seen at an air bnb. The air conditioner quit working, I notified them and hey had someone there within fifteen minutes. Would stay there again.

I absolutely loved staying here! It was the perfect, peaceful escape I was hoping for. The view was incredible and the house is very cute. I loved the deck, and getting to wake up and end my day listening to birds and seeing the mountains. I will absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful quiet retreat space. Host was very informative with instructions on getting to the location and where to find the amenities. It’s a must stay.

This place is a dream. So peaceful and serene, immersed in nature. Plenty of privacy yet accessible to Asheville and not too remote. I loved taking a bath outside in the beautiful tub, and the pour over coffee in the morning was great. The place feels modern without sacrificing the charm of a cabin in the woods. Thank you so much Christina for a beautiful stay and for being so accommodating and communicative. We can't wait to come back!

For two people this is a perfect place. Ideally situated just a few blocks from downtown, and super neat and clean. The deck and firepit were great additions which we thoroughly enjoyed almost every evening. This is one of the most well stocked Air BnBs we have stayed in; on top of that, everything in the casita was of quality- sheets, pots and pans, towels, TVs etc. If we come back to Hendersonville to hike; we will definitely choose Sam's place again. Thank you.

If you look at the photos and read all of Catherine's messages (she sends a lot of emails with helpful information and even a video on how to work the wood-powered hot tub) then you will be ready to know everything about this beautiful place. She goes above and beyond to welcome you and make it a true retreat from the world. This is a bit nicer (i.e. higher rate) than AirBNBs that I sometimes get on a family vacation but it was a great treat for my husband and I for a romantic getaway- worth it!

Big backyard was perfect for the dogs. The Cottage was just as described Very clean with everything we needed for the weekend. We contacted Brandon once for broken blowdryer and he offered to run one over in a couple hours. Very responsive and accommodating. We will stay again
